Abstract

Pneumonia is a leading cause of death among children under five, accounting for 14% of fatalities. Chest X-ray analysis is a key method for diagnosis, but many developing countries have only one radiologist per million people, making timely detection difficult. To address this challenge, Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) offer a viable solution due to their ability to analyze visual data efficiently. This study evaluates two CNN architectures, VGG19 and ResNet-50, considering their effectiveness in pneumonia detection. Both models were trained using two different optimizers, SGDM and Adam, to determine the best combination for accurate classification. Results using test data indicate that VGG19 with the Adam optimizer achieves the highest accuracy at 90%, surpassing other models which recorded 62%, 77%, and 84% without overfitting. This highlights the potential of artificial intelligence driven diagnostic tools in bridging healthcare gaps and improving pneumonia detection in resource-limited settings. Abstract

The development of Si-based materials has attracted increasing attention, particularly for application in semiconductors, batteries, sensors, and optical technology. Silicon has abundant availability, high energy storage capacity, and low work potential. However, it faces compatibility challenges due to its low electrical conductivity and extremely small magnetic susceptibility. This research aimed to investigate the influence of Co dopants on the structure, morphology, electrical conductivity, and magnetic susceptibility of silicon. Silicon was synthesized using the magnesiothermic reduction method, and silicon was modified with Co metal dopants at 0.1% and 0.5% concentrations through the impregnation method. XRD analysis results showed that Si, 0.1% Co/Si, and 0.5% Co/Si exhibit silicon diffraction patterns at 2θ = 28.42º; 47.28º; 56.11º; 69.13º; and 76.36º. The morphology of Si and Co/Si revealed a rough, uneven, and porous surface with particles appearing spherical. Electrical conductivity increases with Co concentration: Si = 1223 µS/cm, 0.1% Co/Si= 1376 µS/cm, and 0.5% Co/Si= 1529 µS/cm. Magnetic susceptibility measurements indicated that Si, 0.1% Co/Si, and 0.5% Co/Si are paramagnetic at a range of 1.18 x10-6 to 1.25 x10-5 SI. These characterization results confirmed that the modification with Co dopants can enhance the magnetoelectric properties of silicon.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Spirulina platensis for remediation of vannamei shrimp culture waste. The method used in this study was a Non-Factoral Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications, namely (A) Control; (B) 50% waste (1500 ml waste + 1500 ml water) + technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant; (C) 75% waste (2,250 ml of waste + 750 ml of water) technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant; (D) 100% waste + technical fertilizer + Spirulina inoculant. Data analysis used ANOVA with 95% confidence level. The results showed that the use of Spirulina platensis as a remediation agent for vaname shrimp culture had a significant effect on reducing levels of waste ammonia, phosphate, nitrate, and density of Spirulina platensis (Fcount > Ftable 0.05).Keywords: Bioremediator; Innoculant; Vanname shrimp; Waste water

Abstract

Low active engagement in learning is a challenge in the lower grades of primary school. Grade III students are still at the concrete thinking stage, so they are more interested in fun activities and are easily distracted by less interactive media or the use of devices such as gadgets. This research aims to development Truth or Dare learning media based on Board Game themed Nature Adventure on the material of natural appearance using the developer model applied using the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) approach which emphasizes group cooperation, healthy competition, and active involvement of students through a fun and not boring learning atmosphere. The results of validation carried out by media, material, and language experts, showed that the media obtained a validity score of 90.5% for media, 96% for material, and 94% for language, all of which were in the very valid category. The applicability test was conducted through a questionnaire distributed to teachers and third grade students at SD Negeri 7 Kampungdalem. The results showed an applicability of 98.1% from teachers and an average of 92.1% from students. The results of the field trial prove that this media is able to increase the enthusiasm, motivation, and active involvement of students during learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Verifikasi metode analisis merupakan tahap penting untuk memastikan keandalan suatu prosedur dalam menentukan parameter kualitas air. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan verifikasi metode uji kadar amonia menggunakan metode fenat pada sampel air sungai. Parameter yang diuji meliputi linearitas, akurasi, presisi, serta sensitivitas. Hasil uji linearitas menunjukkan koefisien korelasi (r) sebesar 0,9947 yang memenuhi persyaratan r ≥ 0,97. Uji akurasi menghasilkan nilai % recovery sebesar 99,07%, berada dalam rentang penerimaan 85–115%. Presisi metode ditunjukkan dengan nilai %RSD sebesar 2,36% yang masih memenuhi kriteria batas keberterimaan <5% dan 0,67 CV Horwitz. Sensitivitas ditunjukkan oleh nilai batas deteksi (MDL) sebesar 0,0255 mg/L dan batas kuantisasi (LOQ) sebesar 0,0812 mg/L, keduanya lebih rendah dari baku mutu amonia pada air sungai kelas I (0,1 mg/L) sesuai dengan Peraturan Pemerintah RI No. 22 Tahun 2021. Hasil verifikasi ini menegaskan bahwa metode fenat layak digunakan untuk analisis kadar amonia pada air sungai karena memenuhi semua kriteria keberterimaan yang berlaku.

Abstract

Analisis kadar besi (Fe) pada suplemen tambah darah merupakan langkah penting dalam menjamin mutu dan efektivitas produk farmasi, sekaligus sarana pembelajaran keterampilan analitik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan menerapkan metode spektrofotometri UV-Vis untuk analisis kadar besi (Fe) pada suplemen tambah darah serta mengevaluasi efektivitasnya sebagai media pembelajaran praktikum kimia analisis farmasi. Preparasi sampel dilakukan dengan metode destruksi asam menggunakan microwave digestion, diikuti reaksi kompleksasi Fe³⁺ dengan kalium tiosianat (KSCN) dalam suasana asam untuk membentuk kompleks Fe(SCN)3 berwarna merah. Pengukuran dilakukan pada panjang gelombang maksimum 474 nm. Kurva kalibrasi standar menunjukkan linearitas sangat baik (r = 0,997), sedangkan uji akurasi menghasilkan perolehan kembali 97,5% dengan presisi tinggi (%RSD < 0,1%). Metode ini terbukti akurat dan reliabel untuk penentuan kadar Fe, serta efektif sebagai sarana pembelajaran kontekstual yang mengintegrasikan teori kompleksasi logam, prinsip spektrofotometri, dan verifikasi metode analitik dalam praktikum kimia analisis farmasi.

Abstract

The purpose of the study: this study aims to find out how consumers view Osyin Glow products marketed through TikTok Shop, including their perception of product quality, price, and value. Design/Method/Approach: This study applies a qualitative method with a phenomenological approach, using thematic analysis techniques. This collection was carried out using triangulation techniques, which involved interviews with two customers on the TikTok Shop Osyin Glow account who had shopping experience and were willing to be interviewed. The selection of informants meets the requirements of relevance, recommendation, relationship, readiness, and assurance. The validity is tested by triangulation techniques. Research Findings: Research shows that the quality of Osyin Glow products has a significant positive effect on consumer buying interest on TikTok Shop. Consumers tend to be more interested in buying products that they consider to be of good quality. Theoretical contribution/Originality: This research has originality because it focuses on a specific product, namely Osyin Glow, which is marketed through TikTok Shop. This provides a new perspective in understanding how beauty products compete in a highly competitive digital market. Practitioner/Policy Implications: This research that TikTok Shop Osyin Glow improves customer satisfaction, it is important for Osyin Glow to ensure good service quality, including quick response to consumer inquiries and complaints, as well as ease in the purchase process. Research limitations: these limitations suggest that while the research provides valuable insights into consumers' perspectives on Osyin Glow on TikTok Shop, there are several aspects that need to be considered for future research in order for the results to be more comprehensive and representative.

Abstract

The community service program was implemented in Marajai Village, Halong District, Balangan Regency, South Kalimantan, known for its natural beauty and the existence of local and rare fruits. However, this village faces serious challenges in the form of unpredictable climatic conditions that threaten the sustainability of fruit production. The rare fruits that grow in Marajai Village have high ecological, economic, and cultural value, but their existence is increasingly threatened. This program aims to raise public awareness that local fruits are not only important for meeting daily needs, but also have great potential as leading commodities and tourist attractions, both locally and internationally, thereby increasing income and supporting sustainable village development. The program will run from July 17 to September 11, 2025, using a live-in and participatory approach. With this approach, the community is actively involved in the process of gathering information, identifying problems, and formulating solutions. The results show that the Marajai Village community has adapted and transformed in the face of climate challenges by strengthening the potential of rare fruits, identifying the causes of declining production, and formulating resilience strategies. The strategies implemented include collaborative planting of new seedlings across various parties and strengthening the economic value of rare fruits as village assets. This program emphasizes that community resilience is not only reflected in the ability to adapt ecologically, but also in social and economic innovations based on local potential. Thus, strengthening resilience is a key strategy in maintaining the sustainability of natural resources and the cultural identity of the Marajai Village community.

Abstract

The Krueng Aceh River is an important water resource vulnerable to anthropogenic pressures from urban activities and domestic waste. This study aimed to evaluate water quality based on physicochemical parameters and determine its status using the Pollution Index (PI). A quantitative descriptive approach with grab sampling was applied at three stations (upstream, midstream, downstream). Laboratory analyses followed Indonesian National Standards (SNI), and water quality assessment referred to Class II standards. Results showed neutral pH (7.0–7.1), low TSS (0.0127–0.0407 mg/L) and TDS (2.06–2.29 mg/L), and increasing sulfate from upstream to downstream (5.73–107.40 mg/L), all below threshold limits. Heavy metals (Fe, Zn, Cu, Pb, Ni) were below detection limits. In contrast, ammonia exceeded the standard at all stations, with the highest concentration at S2 (0.3582 mg/L), making it the dominant factor influencing water quality. The PI indicated good quality at S1 (0.9856) and lightly polluted conditions at S2 (1.6175) and S3 (1.1789). These findings suggest potential water quality degradation, highlighting the need for sustainable management through pollutant load control and regular monitoring.

Abstract

Kunyit (Curcuma longa L.) menghasilkan beragam senyawa volatil yang berperan dalam interaksi tanaman dengan lingkungannya, namun informasi mengenai perbedaan volatil antarorgan masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis dan membandingkan profil senyawa volatil daun dan rimpang kunyit menggunakan metode Headspace–Solid Phase Microextraction (HS-SPME) dan Gas Chromatography–Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) untuk memperoleh gambaran volatil alami dari jaringan segar. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa daun memiliki total area relatif 95,968% dan didominasi monoterpen. Sebaliknya, rimpang menunjukkan total area relatif 79,611% dengan dominasi seskuiterpen. Perbedaan komposisi ini menegaskan adanya diferensiasi metabolik antarorgan sesuai fungsi fisiologisnya. Temuan ini tidak hanya memperkaya data volatil kunyit, tetapi juga relevan untuk pengembangan praktikum botani berbasis riset, khususnya dalam memperkenalkan analisis volatil dan pemanfaatan instrumen GC-MS untuk meningkatkan literasi ilmiah dan pemahaman ekologi kimia pada mahasiswa.
