Abstract

This study examines whether four alternative assets Bitcoin, gold, government bonds, and the United States dollar provide protection against declines in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Composite Index (IHSG). The objective is to determine which assets act as hedges for returns and which serve as volatility safe havens during turbulent market conditions. Using daily log returns from February 2022 to April 2025, the study applies simple linear return regressions, volatility regressions constructed from 10-day rolling standard deviations, and 60-day rolling return regressions to capture time-varying relationships. The results show that the US dollar consistently exhibits a negative and statistically significant relationship with IHSG returns, indicating a reliable hedging function. In contrast, government bonds, gold, and Bitcoin display positive return betas, implying pro-cyclical behavior rather than defensive characteristics. In volatility analysis, the US dollar and government bonds record the smallest sensitivity to index volatility, while Bitcoin and gold amplify market risk. Time-varying (rolling) estimates reinforce these patterns: the dollar’s defensive role persists across normal and crisis episodes, whereas the other assets rarely show sustained negative betas. In conclusion, for the observed period and market context, the United States dollar is the most effective hedge against IHSG declines; government bonds contribute to volatility stabilization; gold offers limited diversification benefits; and Bitcoin does not function as a dependable defensive asset in the Indonesian equity market.

Abstract

Abstract

Traditional grocery stores play an important role in fulfilling the daily needs of rural communities; however, they currently face significant challenges due to changes in consumer behavior and the increasing penetration of modern retail. This Community Service Program (PKM) aimed to enhance the competitiveness of traditional grocery stores through training on the use of the QRIS digital payment system and the development of an innovative WhatsApp-based delivery service. The training was conducted using socialization, demonstration, and direct mentoring methods involving store owners and employees. The results showed an improvement in the digital literacy of store owners, as evidenced by their ability to independently and efficiently operate cashless payment systems. In addition, the implementation of a simple WhatsApp-based delivery service increased customer convenience, expanded service reach, and strengthened customer loyalty. These findings indicate that the integration of transaction digitalization and service innovation can serve as a practical and effective strategy to reinforce the competitive position of traditional grocery stores amid modern market dynamics. This program provides a tangible contribution to empowering traditional retail MSMEs and can be replicated in other grocery stores in residential and rural areas.

Abstract

Environmental damage and sustainability become the center of attention along with climate change today. One of the interesting things is the change in behavior in the consumption of products categorized as "green", including in terms of choosing tourism destinations. Environmentally friendly tourism destinations or ecotourism is increasingly becoming an option for those who care about the environment. Ecotourism is also used by many countries, including travel agents, to increase their economic value or profit. This study aims to investigate how the role of Environmental Concern as antecendent of Ecoturism Visit Intention mediates the influence of Future Time perspective and Destination Image toward Ecotourism visit Intention.  This research involved 200 respondents who had visited ecotourism destinations at least twice, which was obtained using a convenience sample approach. The data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) which were processed using the SmartPLS 4.0 statistical package. The result shows that Future Time perspective and Destination’s Image positively impact Ecotourism Intention.   Future Time perspective and Destination’s Image also influence Ecotourism Intention indirectly through Environmental Concern as the mediating variable. As an implication, the government and travel agents improve service readiness and perception of high-value propositions to develop a better destination image.

Abstract

This research looks at how Indonesian non-cyclical manufacturing businesses  financial operations are affected by inflation and liquidity, using leverage as a mediating variable. The study sample consists of 77 companies listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange for the years 2021–2024. Secondary data is analyzed using the PLS-SEM method. This study focuses on the relationship between inflation and financial performance through the use of leverage. The research findings indicate that liquidity (Current Ratio) has a negative and significant impact on financial performance, whereas inflation and leverage do not. Additionally, leverage does not address the relationship between inflation and liquidity with regard to financial performance. This indicates that excessive liquidity might reduce business efficiency. In order to obtain more comprehensive results, subsequent research is advised to increase sample size and incorporate more variables.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Bitcoin economy on the money supply (M1) in Indonesia, with Bitcoin volatility as an intervening variable. Using a quantitative approach, the data consists of 36 monthly time-series observations from 2022 to 2024. Data analysis techniques include regression analysis adjusted with the Prais-Winsten method to address autocorrelation issues, the Sobel test for mediation analysis, and path analysis. The results indicate that the Bitcoin economy has a direct, positive, and significant effect on the money supply (M1) in Indonesia. However, the Bitcoin economy was found to have a negative and non-significant effect on Bitcoin volatility. Similarly, Bitcoin volatility exerts a negative but non-significant influence on the money supply (M1). The Sobel test results prove that Bitcoin volatility does not function as an intervening variable mediating the relationship between the Bitcoin economy and the money supply (M1). These findings suggest that while the expansion of the Bitcoin ecosystem encourages an increase in domestic monetary liquidity, the price fluctuations of digital assets have not yet become a transmission channel that significantly disrupts the stability of national monetary aggregates.
