Abstract

The study examines the impact of workload and motivation on employee performance, with job satisfaction acting as a mediating variable, at PT Jasa Raharja North Sumatra Branch. A quantitative approach using path analysis was employed to assess relationships among variables. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire from employees selected via proportionate stratified random sampling. The findings indicate that workload negatively affects job satisfaction, while motivation positively influences both job satisfaction and employee performance. Additionally, job satisfaction significantly enhances performance and serves as a crucial mediator in the relationship between workload, motivation, and performance. These results highlight the importance of managing workload efficiently and fostering motivation to improve employee job satisfaction and overall performance. The study provides valuable managerial implications, suggesting that organizations should optimize workload distribution and implement motivation-enhancing strategies to maximize employee productivity. By integrating job satisfaction as a strategic factor, companies can create a more conducive work environment, ultimately leading to better performance outcomes. This research contributes to the existing body of knowledge by confirming the mediating role of job satisfaction in workplace dynamics and offering practical insights for corporate human resource management.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the moderating role of the work system in the transformation of industrial relations and performance management in the context of human resource development (HRD) in hospitality tourism in North Sumatra. The research method used is a qualitative approach by extracting data from various sources, such as interviews, observations, and documentation studies. However, this research also shows that there are still challenges in the development of hospitality tourism human resources in North Sumatra. Some of the challenges identified include a lack of understanding of the importance of a good work system, lack of worker involvement in decision-making, and ineffective communication between management and workers. Therefore, sustained efforts are needed in improving good work systems, as well as worker empowerment in decision-making and effective communication in an effort to improve performance management in North Sumatra's hospitality tourism sector. The conclusion of this brief provides an overview of the complexity of interactions between the factors of performance management, industrial relations, work systems and human resource development in the context of the hospitality industry in North Sumatra. This can serve as a basis for stakeholders to improve performance management, work systems and human resource development in the hospitality tourism sector in the region.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of ambidextrous leadership and person-job fit on auditor performance, mediated by innovative work behavior. A quantitative approach was applied by distributing a structured questionnaire to 125 Functional Auditors. Descriptive statistics and path analysis were used to examine direct and indirect effects of Ambidextrous Leadership and Person-Job Fit on performance, mediated by Innovative Work Behavior. Data analyzed to test seven hypotheses, ensuring robust statistical validation. Results confirm that Ambidextrous Leadership and Person-Job Fit significantly enhance Employee Performance through Innovative Work Behavior. Leadership leans toward exploitation over exploration, limiting innovation, while job fit is strong in technical competencies but weaker in personality alignment. Innovative Work Behavior mediates the relationships, boosting performance by fostering creative problem-solving.
