Abstract

The development of higher education, especially Islamic Religious Universities (PTKI), focuses on innovation in teaching, learning, and the ethics of lecturers as role models. PTKI plays an important role in shaping an excellent generation through the integration of knowledge and Islamic values. This study aims to explore the contribution of academic competence enhancement programs and Islamic educators' ethics development to the professional development of PTKI lecturers, as well as their impact on academic work engagement. The research uses an exploratory quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design to examine PTKI lecturers' professional development. Data were collected through open-ended questionnaire surveys of 150 respondents selected via purposive sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the PLS-SEM technique to evaluate the validity of the structural model and the relationships between latent variables and their indicators. The findings show that academic competence enhancement programs and Islamic educators' ethics development have a significant positive impact on lecturers' professional development. Professional development directly influences and mediates academic work engagement. Lecturers who continuously develop their competence and ethics tend to be more engaged in academic tasks, highly committed, and capable of creating dynamic and collaborative learning environments. This study encourages PTKI to design ongoing training programs tailored to lecturers' needs and promote inter-campus synergy through research collaboration.

Abstract

Corruption and money laundering are global issues with significant economic impacts, particularly in Asia and Europe. This comparative study explores the relationship between national culture, public governance, and money laundering potential, focusing on cultural differences between the East and West. Utilizing a quantitative approach, the study analyzes secondary data from the 2023 Basel Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Index, covering 49 Asian and 47 European countries. Structural Equation Modelling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) is employed for analysis. The findings reveal that cultural dynamics significantly and positively influence public governance. However, public governance and cultural dynamics do not directly affect the potential for money laundering. Mediation tests indicate that public governance mediates the relationship between cultural dynamics and money laundering potential. A Multigroup Analysis (MGA) test highlights significant regional differences, particularly in the influence of public governance on money laundering potential. The study underscores the need for multifaceted strategies to combat money laundering globally, emphasizing international collaboration, public education, governance enhancement, and technological advancement. Recommendations for the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) include strengthening cross-country cooperation and improving public governance frameworks to mitigate global money laundering risks effectively.

Abstract

Abstract

The healthcare sector in Indonesia faces challenges in managing capital efficiency and organizational performance due to high operational costs and the need for continuous investment in health technology and infrastructure. As a key driver of economic growth, especially post-COVID-19, optimal capital management is crucial for sustaining operations and creating stakeholder value. This study examines the relationship between the Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC) and Return on Assets (ROA) in Indonesia’s healthcare sector using a quantitative dynamic panel analysis approach. Financial data from healthcare companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange were analyzed using the Generalized Method of Moments (GMM). The findings indicate that WACC negatively affects ROA, but the relationship is not statistically significant. Leverage, measured through the Debt to Asset Ratio and Debt to Equity Ratio, strengthens this relationship positively. Meanwhile, cash holdings and firm size have a negative moderating effect, whereas Net Working Capital (NWC) reinforces the relationship positively. These results highlight the importance of effective debt and liquidity management in optimizing profitability in the healthcare sector. The study contributes theoretically to capital efficiency discussions and offers practical insights for industry stakeholders, including decision-makers and investors. The research is novel in its focus on Indonesia’s healthcare sector, making it highly relevant for financial and strategic planning in the industry.

Abstract

Amid growing global pressure for sustainability, the banking sector faces increasing demands to adopt environmentally friendly practices through the concept of green banking. This study addresses a gap in the literature by specifically analyzing how internal capabilities and state financial policies drive the adoption of green banking practices in state-owned banks in Indonesia. By integrating the Diffusion of Innovation (DOI) and Resource-Based View (RBV) frameworks, the study offers a novel perspective on sustainability adoption in the banking sector of a developing country. Data were collected through a Likert-scale survey of 274 employees from Indonesian state-owned banks and analyzed using Partial Least Squares–Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM). The findings reveal that relative advantage, compatibility, and organizational support are key internal factors driving green banking adoption. Externally, human resource quality, regulatory pressure, sustainable financial policies, and global business dynamics further enhance the adoption process. The results also show that green banking implementation significantly improves Triple Bottom Line (TBL) performance, including operational efficiency and environmental risk reduction. This study highlights the importance of synergy between strengthening internal bank capacities and fiscal policy support—such as tax incentives from the Ministry of Finance—in fostering a sustainable financial ecosystem in Indonesia.
