Abstract

The purpose of this study was to develop and determine the validity and practicality of learning media in the form of an Android-based E-Module equipped with questions with scaffolding on light wave material. In this study, the Research and Development (R&D) model with the 4-D method was used. The stages of 4D development include define, design, develop, and disseminate, but in this study only up to the design stage with validity and practicality tests. Product validation was carried out by three media and material expert validators, namely 1 lecturer and 2 high school physics teachers, while the practicality test was carried out by 48 students of class XI MIPA SMAN 1 Paciran. The research results obtained quantitative and qualitative data. Analysis of quantitative data using percentages and categorized criteria of validity and practicality. The results of this research and development are in the form of an Android-based physics interactive E-Module product with light wave material. From the validation test by the validator, the average percentage of results for media and material validation is 90% with very valid criteria. This shows that the material presented is in accordance with the curriculum so that it can support student learning. In the validation test results of practice questions with scaffolding, the average percentage is 97% and the percentage of evaluation questions is 96% with very valid criteria. This shows that the practice questions and evaluation questions that have been made valid are used by students in studying light waves and are validly included in the developed e-module. From the results of the practicality test, an average percentage of 85% was obtained in the very practical category. This shows that the product developed is very valid and very practical so it is worth investigating its effectiveness so that it can further support physics learning in understanding the concept of light waves, both used independently and in school learning.

Abstract

This study investigated how students use critical thinking skills in solving problems in Torque and rigid body equilibrium before and after using STEM learning Infusion based- Collaborative Problem Solving model. Embedded Design Experimental Model was used. The research instrument was eight essay questions in torque and equilibrium of rigid objects that had been validated. Quantitative data were obtained from the pretest and post-test score, pretest and post-test data were analyzed using N-gain to determine the improvement of students' critical thinking skills. Qualitative data was obtained from students' answers in the pretest and post-test. Data were analyzed descriptively to compare students' critical thinking skills before and after the intervention. The average critical thinking skills of students increased from 7.61 (pretest) to 38.84 (post-test) with an N-gain of 0.34, the improvement is categorized as moderate. The findings indicate that critical thinking skills can be cultivated through physics lessons using STEM learning with Infusion-Based Collaborative Problem Solving. Following the intervention, students demonstrated systematic critical thinking in answering questions.

Abstract

Pesantren play a crucial role in shaping a young generation with transdisciplinary capabilities by integrating religious and scientific knowledge. In Islamic boarding schools, science education requires curriculum integration through laboratory-based learning. This community service program was conducted at Pondok Pesantren Darul Faqih, Malang, aiming to improve laboratory facilities and enhance teachers’ competence in facilitating experiment-based learning. This program involved providing laboratory equipment and teacher training using lecture and practice methods. Three main stages were carried out: (1) providing basic experimental equipment for an integrated laboratory, (2) conducting seminars on Islamic-based practical management and mentoring teachers in developing science experiment modules, and (3) implementing experiments and evaluating the program. A questionnaire was distributed to teachers to assess their views on the importance of laboratories in science education. The results showed an improvement in laboratory facilities with the availability of various experimental tools, such as the Melde Kit, Hooke’s Law Kit, Kirchhoff’s Law Kit, and Solar Cell Kit. Additionally, the training enhanced teachers' skills in operating the equipment and developing science learning modules. According to the survey, the equipped laboratory contributed to increased student motivation and understanding of science. This program is expected to serve as a model for advancing science education in pesantren

Abstract

Students' low critical thinking skills are an obstacle in learning uniform circular motion. The aim of the study was to describe the effect of using STEM-based 3D-multimedia in improving the critical thinking skills of students from the northern coast of Java in uniform circular motion material. This research is a pre-experimental with a one-group pre-test post-test design. The research sample was 26 students of class X-IPA MA Hasyimiyah Bancar. The treatment of the samples was carried out by using STEM-based 3D-multimedia during four face-to-face lessons in class. The results show that the students' critical thinking skills improved by 56,1% after the implementation of the STEM-based 3D multimedia. This quantitative result is proven by critical thinking skills indicators that can be identified in the students' critical thinking skills test answers. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of STEM-based 3D-multimedia enhanced the students' critical thinking skills in uniform circular motion quite significantly.
