Abstract

Light intensity is the intensity of light emitted as a light source in a certain direction. In a building, human safety depends on the level of lighting, and helps create a creative visual environment. Broadly speaking, light sources are divided into two, namely natural light and artificial light. According to the Indonesian National Standard (SNI), the recommended minimum lighting strength for lecture halls is 250 lux. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether the lighting intensity of the lecture hall in the SLC building meets the SNI standard, and to determine the relationship between natural and artificial fluxes in the SLC lecture hall of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Mulawarman University. This study uses the method of measuring the intensity of illumination with a luxmeter measuring instrument at predetermined measurement points. The results obtained in this study, namely, the intensity of natural and artificial lighting in the lecture hall of the SLC building did not entirely meet the SNI standard, because in use without lights and 6 lights the point is far from the light source. The relationship between natural and artificial lighting flux corresponds to changes in the intensity of natural and artificial lighting with time, the greater the change in lighting intensity with time, the greater the lighting flux in the lecture room with time.

Abstract

Education is an effort to create a learning environment and educational process that encourages the development of students' potential. One of the statistical methods that can be used in the field of education is cluster analysis. Average linkage is a hierarchical clustering algorithm that groups objects based on the average distance between objects in different clusters. In this study, sub-districts were grouped based on education indicators at the primary/elementary level in Samarinda City in 2023. The results of this research obtained 2 clusters that were the most optimal because they had the highest Silhouette coefficient value. Cluster 1 contains the subdistricts of Samarinda Ulu and Sungai Kunjang, while cluster 2 contains the subdistricts of North Samarinda, Palaran, Sungai Pinang, Sambutan, Loa Janan Ilir, Samarinda Ilir, Samarinda Seberang, and Samarinda Kota. Cluster 1 has an advantage over cluster 2 in several aspects of education. Cluster 1 shows a higher average in terms of the number of students, the number of classrooms, the number of institutions, the number of certified teachers, and the number of A-accredited schools at the primary/secondary level in Kota Samarinda in 2023.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the continuity of the aquifer system between the Serayu-Citanduy area and the Golf Course area in Tanah Merah Village, North Samarinda District, using the Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) method with Schlumberger configuration. Building on previous research that compared geoelectrical mapping and sounding methods for identifying aquifer layers in the Serayu-Citanduy area, this study focuses on aquifer connectivity based on resistivity profiles and geological interpretation. The VES data collected from eight measurement points revealed significant variations in lithology and aquifer types. At the Golf Course, the surface layer consists of soil (0.8 to 2.6 m depth), overlying a thick silt layer (up to 160 m depth) and a permeable sandstone aquifer between depths of 152.7 m and 160 m. The resistivity of the sandstone aquifer is approximately 20-50 Ωm. Meanwhile, at the Serayu-Citanduy Road, the lithology is divided into five main layers, with the surface layer (0.8 to 2.5 m) followed by a silt layer (5.2 to 22.9 m) and a sandstone layer from 22.9 m to 200 m depth. The resistivity of the sandstone aquifer here is higher, ranging from 50 to 150 Ωm, and is identified as an unconfined aquifer above a shale layer. Below 100.1 m, a confined aquifer is found beneath the shale layer, with resistivity values exceeding 100 Ωm. The correlation between the VES points at the Golf Course and Serayu-Citanduy Road shows continuity between the aquifer systems despite variations in thickness. These findings provide new insights into the hydrogeology of Tanah Merah and highlight the importance of groundwater management strategies for sustainable water use in North Samarinda District.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the issues of lighting and noise in the mining company. Insufficient lighting could lead to accidents and eye strain, while noise from heavy machinery could cause health problems and reduce workers' performance. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and map areas with levels of lighting and noise at PT. Pamapersada Nusantara Distrik Baya, as well as to analyze the distribution map based on SNI 16-7062-2004 for lighting and SNI 8427:2017 for noise. The results of the study showed that there was a variation in lighting and noise levels in different areas, caused by factors such as light source obstructions like large parked units in the measured area and working hours. Areas with suboptimal lighting often hindered workers' tasks, while areas with high noise levels posed a risk of hearing loss. The conclusion of this study indicated that the variation in lighting and noise levels in the work areas of PT. Pamapersada Nusantara Distrik Baya was significantly influenced by environmental conditions during working hours. The recommendations provided by PT. Pamapersada Nusantara Distrik Baya to improve employee comfort and performance included the equalization and maintenance of lighting and noise infrastructure.

Abstract

In the beginning, the Natural and Social Sciences (IPAS) Learning Activities in Grade III of Elementary School 116/X Lambur II used a learning model that was not varied, especially still using conventional learning models, so that the learning process in the classroom did not use technology at all. The lack of use of learning models that were less varied, coupled with learning media that only relied on books, made students feel bored and less interested in participating in learning. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which was carried out in two cycles consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects in this study were Grade III students of Elementary School 116/X Lambur II. Data analysis techniques: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions or verification, while data sources: resource persons, documentation, and teaching and learning processes. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in students' creative thinking skills. Starting from the pre-cycle of learning activities that have not used the Game Based Learning model, student learning outcomes are only 5 out of 20 students who are said to have completed with a percentage of 20% with an average score of 49. Furthermore, from the results of the cycle I action, the minimum score has not been reached, so the study was continued in the cycle II action by making several improvements from the results of the cycle I reflection. From the results of the cycle II action, there was an increase where 18 out of 20 students were declared complete with a percentage of completion of 90% and obtained an overall average score of 85.
