Abstract

Horticulture is the agricultural subsector that is mostly occupied by farmers, this can be seen from the amount of land use for horticulture which is more dominant than other agricultural subsectors, according to the Department of Agriculture and food security, the horticulture sector has a planting area of 6449,758 hectares with a total area of 6449,758 hectares. As many as 71 horticultural commodities are cultivated, Batu City is one of the areas in East Java that relies on the agricultural sector for its economic development, but Batu City does not yet have a clear picture of the specifications for leading commodities, especially the horticulture sub-sector. The analytical tool that can be used to determine base and non-base commodities is Location Quotient (LQ) analysis, while the tool used to classify the growth of each commodity can use Shift Share Analysis (SSA), then the results of the two analyzes are combined with the Batu City geographic map using the technique Overlay so as to produce a map of Batu City's leading commodities. With the focus of research on every sub-district in Batu City, this is because the sub-district is an integral part of the city.

Abstract

Abstract

Since 2018, apple production in East Java has been threatened with extinction due to the very cheap price of apples at the farmer level. On the other hand, the presence of imported apples has made local apples less competitive, thus affecting farmers' motivation to farm apples. This study aims to obtain a description of apple farmers and analyze the factors that influence farmers' motivation in farming apples. The research location is in Tutur District, Pasuruan Regency, while the analysis method used is descriptive and multiple regression methods. The results of the study concluded that the age of farmers is still classified as productive age, with an average education of high school, 19.3 years of experience, and an average land area of 16.9 hectares. Meanwhile, the factors that significantly influence motivation are education level, self-confidence, farming capital, mastery of technology, and the number of extension services that have been attended.

Abstract

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the effect of content marketing (X1) and electronic word of mouth (eWOM) on customer retention (Y) at Jatiroso Catering. A questionnaire with 98 respondents chosen using non-probability sampling methods was used to gather primary data, namely purposive sampling and voluntary sampling. Through the use of the Smart PLS 4 application, the study methodology employs Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with a Partial Least Square (PLS) approach. According to the study's findings, content marketing significantly and favorably affects 39.9% of customers' retention rates. However, with a 27.4% contribution, eWOM also has a favorable and noteworthy impact on customer retention. These findings confirm that both variables are statistically demonstrated to have a major impact in raising customer retention at Jatiroso Catering.

Abstract

Indonesia is one of the world’s leading cocoa producers, yet its contribution to global value-added cocoa exports remains relatively low. This structural gap highlights the need to evaluate not only production capacity but also the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa in international markets. This study aims to evaluate the competitiveness of Indonesian cocoa exports in four main destination countries: India, China, Malaysia, and the Philippines. Data sources were obtained from UM Comtrade, ITC Trademap, International Cocoa Organization (ICCO), and BPS. The analysis was conducted by combining methods of the Revealed Comparative Advantage, Export Competitiveness Index, and the Porter's Diamond Model. The results show that Indonesia still has a comparative and competitive advantage in several markets, especially India. The average RCA value was 10.41 in Malaysia, 9.42 (China), 5.40 (India), and 3.97 (the Philippines). Meanwhile, the ECI value is greater than one, namely 1.21 (India), 1.09 (China), 1.08 (Malaysia), and 1.05 (the Philippines). These advantages, however, are volatile and highly dependent on natural resource factors. Weak domestic demand, inconsistent quality standards, limited downstream industry capacity, and fragmented policy coordination remain key structural challenges. This research emphasizes that strengthening competitiveness not only requires the maintenance of comparative advantage, but also its transformation into a sustainable competitive advantage through institutional reform, cross-sector policy integration, and value-added product innovation.
