Abstract

Abstract: This research discusses about the motivation of the students in Japanese Education program of Riau University. The aim of this research is to measure the motivation of students and what would affect the said motivation on the matter of studying Japanese language. To conduct the research, the writer examined 57 of the students in Japanese Education program of Riau University from the generation of year 2017. The method used was quantitative descriptive research method. The result of this research is that the motivation of the students in Japanese Education program of Riau University from the generation of year 2017 could be classified as strongly motivated. The motivation of 2017 generation is more or less 73.13%. This research also brings light to what kind of factors which would affect the motivation to study of the students. The factors are; the subject and the facility of the lesson, and the presence of other person. 29.82% of the students disagrees that the myriads of subjects about conjugation makes them eager to study. 26.31% of the students agreed that the lack of facility to study makes them eager to study. 54.38% of the students agreed that studying with friends could help them in understanding the subject of Japanese Language.Key Words : Motivation, Studying Japanese Language

Abstract

Abstract: Te iru is one aspect of Japanese. This research discusses the usage of te iru aspects in the sakubun of 2019 college students Japanese Language Education Study Program of Teachers Training and Education Faculty Riau University. The purpose of this study is to find out how usage te iru in sakubun of 2019 college students. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive by observing sakubun documentation from 8 students. The results showed that usage of te iru in progressive and resultive aspects was not very visible because that aspect's situation, meanwhile the usage of te iru appeared in the habituative aspect but college students did not use te iru in the sakubun.Key Words: Usage, Aspect, Te Iru, Sakubun

Abstract

Abstract: This study aimed to find out what are the procedures carried out in making developed game media "The three-dimensional ladder snake box and whether it is an expert standard or validator so that it is worthy of being used as a learning medium. This type of research uses the R & D (Research and Development) model using the Sugiyono development model. The subjects of this study were the tenth grade students of Pekanbaru Integrated Vocational High School, totaling 20 students. The data collection techniques is carried out by using questionnaires. The results showed five stages: a) Potential Problems b) Data Collection, c) Planning, d) Product Design, e) Product Validation. The level of feasibility of the Three Dimensional Box Ladder Snake Media Game As A Media Learning Japanese Vocabulary and Basic Sentences based on 3 validators consisting of material experts, media and teachers of the Pekanbaru Integrated Vocational High School. The Three Dimensional Box Ladder Snake Game Media As A Media For Vocabulary Learning and Basic Japanese Language Sentences is said to be feasible, based on the results of the validation by material experts is in average score of 77.7% with a fairly decent category, media experts is an average score of 96.8% in the category of very decent, and teachers of Pekanbaru Integrated Vocational High School is 96.8% with a very decent category. After getting the validation results, the product revision is conducted according to the suggestions and input from the validator so that the product becomes better and is suitable to use in Japanese vocabulary learning.Key Words : Three Dimensional Box Ladder Snake

Abstract

Abstract: The use of smartphone applications as a supporting medium for learning kanji can help Japanese learners overcome difficulties when learning kanji. The purpose of this study was to describe the use of smartphone applications as a medium to support kanji learning and to describe the correlation between the use of smartphone applications as a medium to support kanji learning and the final grades of the kanji subjects for Japanese Language Study Program students, Faculty of Teachers Training and Education Riau University. The method used was descriptive quantitative method. The data shows that students use a type of digital dictionary application, especially in the reading feature kanji. Most students use this application for the purposes of doing class assignments and looking for the meaning of kanji vocabulary when reading / hearing something within 1 hour or less than 1 hour. Based on the results of hypothesis testing, it was found that the use of a smartphone application as a supporting medium for kanji learning had a positive effect on kanji learning outcomes of students.Key Words: Smartphone aplication, learning outcomes, kanji, learning support media

Abstract

ABSTRACTGairaigo (loan word) writing errors made by student of Japanese education Riau University academic year 2013/2014 is the background of the author to researching any errors that often arise in the writing gairaigo, what are the possible causes of these errors and is there a difference in student writing ability gairaigo at level I, II and III.Gairaigo writing errors found are students write gairaigo based by English vocabulary or write gairaigo based the way of pronounce that is affected by perception of sound. The next writing errors are errors in the writing of the long vowel, diphthong and katakana writing. This error is probably caused by factors such as students have not mastered the competencies how pronunciation of English vocabulary or influence the way the Indonesian pronunciation pronounce English. Other probably are students forget the katakana or influenced by the way the Indonesian pronunciation pronounce English. The results of this research shows that first year, second year and third year have different capabilities in writing gairaigo.Keyword: gairaigo, fonetic, english, katakana, Riau University.

Abstract

Abstract: Kandoushi stated that outou has different functions so that the translation procedures used are different. There are fourteen procedures for translating Japanese kandoushi outou into Indonesian, while in this study two procedures were found, namely component analysis translation procedures and direct translation. Kandoushi outou is translated using the word for word translation method. This study aims to explain the procedure for translating Japanese kandoushi outou into Indonesian by the translator. The method used in this research is qualitative method. One Piece comics were used as the data source. The results of the data analysis of the kandoushi outou translation procedure in One Piece comics found that five data were translated using the component analysis translation procedure and three data using the direct translation procedure. Sou, soudana, arya, aie, saana were translated using the component analysis translation procedure. Un, e, fu-n are translated using the direct translation procedure.Key Words: Kandoushi Outou, Procedure Translation.

Abstract

Abstract: this research aimed at knowing values of education character in dorama one litre of tears. This research used some theories form MEXT (2012), Thomas Lickona (1998), and David McCullough (2010). The used method was qualitative descriptive. The object was a Japanese drama called One Litre of Tears. The result shows us there are values of character education in form of value of wholehearted, value of friendship, value of thank and respect, value of family respect, value of responsibility, value of nature respect and value of live respect. Those values appeared by involving moral knowledge, moral awareness, and moral action as part of character which affect each others.Keywords: Values, Education Character, Moral

Abstract

Abstract: this research was about the effectively of using word wall media as increasing the Japanese vocabulary of SMK Sulthan Muazzam Syah Pekanbaru of Class 2. This research conducted of to know the effectiveness using word wall media as increasing the Japanese vocabulary in that school. The samples consisted of 2 classes as experiment and control class. The instrument of the research was using pretest and posttest, then given a treatment in experimental class that using word wall media and compared the result as it is. Data analyze technique by using independent samples t-test. The result of the research was by using word wall media can increased the Japanese vocabulary. As it knows, the means was 75,83. The significance in this research was 0,000 < 0,05. So, there was an effect of using word wall media to increase student Japanese vocabulary in SMK Sulthan Muazzam Syah Pekanbaru.Key Words: Vocabulary Learning, Word Wall Media

Abstract

Abstrak: This research discusses about by using Image Association Media in hiragana writing learning students of YLPI Junior High School Marpoyan Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to knowing the effectiveness by using Image Associations Media and differences in student learning outcomes between classes that using Image Association Media with classes that did not using Image Association Media. The object of the research is class VII students of YLPI Junior High School Marpoyan in the odd semester academic year 2018/2019 was consisting of two classes, the class name is class VII.1 and class VII.2. This research used a pretest-posttest design, which was conducted on two classes namely the experimental class and the control class. The results of the research is was found that the Image Association Media could improve students outcomes learning in hiragana writing learning compared the results of the students outcomes learning in hiragana writing learning by used conventional methods. This can be seen from the evaluation value and the difference in the results of the experimental class pretest and posttest (the treated class) increased, is 80.8 for the average value in the experimental class and 69 for the control class.Key Words: Effectiveness, Association Hiragana.

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of this research is to find out the difference of student’s ability in writing Japanese essays (sakubun) after implementing cooperative learning type Jigsaw. The research is conducted using weak experimental type one group pre test post test design. The object of this research is 20 semester five students as the respondents. The sample is taken by using simple random sampling technique. Data collection was performed by giving test. The given test was writing Japanese essays (sakubun) with the topic “music”. The writer applies two tests, they are pre test and post test. Pre test is given before the students are taught by implementing Methods Jigsaw, and post test is given after the students are taught with Methods Jigsaw. This research is processed using statistical tests (T-test) to know whether Ha  is accepted or not. Based on the data analysis, the average value of the pre-test was 66,5 while the average value post-test was 79,95. This means the result of increased student essay.s Besides that, most students agree that this method is effectively helping to write Japanese essays (sakubun) easily. The result of this research is that there is a significant impact of using Method Jigsaw in learning of Japanese essays (sakubun) on the semester five students of Japanese Education Department Education Riau University. Keywords: Sakubun, Method Jigsaw, Writing Skill
