Abstract

The growth in the number of students and administrative needs at Pelita Nusantara Kasih Christian School (SKPNK) is getting more and more complex day by day. Prior to this system, SKPNK faced various serious challenges in financial management. Problems such as difficulties in separating data per school unit, complexity in recording transactions, and the absence of an automatic book-closing feature greatly affect the quality of reporting and management decision-making. To deal with these problems, the development team created a comprehensive accounting system that took into account several important criteria, such as ease of use, low cost, and acceptance by school staff. The system development process is carried out systematically, starting from problem identification, in-depth data collection, proposal preparation, to system design and testing. The results are very satisfactory, this system not only simplifies financial management, but also improves data accuracy and speeds up the reporting process. The implementation of an Excel-based accounting system at SKPNK has proven that simple technology solutions can have a significant impact on the financial management of an educational institution

Abstract

One of the main challenges in understanding contemporary paintings is their high degree of abstraction. Each painting simplifies and alters its subject's form, with varying degrees of similarity to objects from nature. This study aims to examine how the degree of abstraction in contemporary painting subjects affects visitors' appreciative responses using an aesthetic psychology approach. The study employs a mixed-methods approach with a multiple-case study design. Semarang Gallery and Sangkring Art Space, both reputable galleries known for their artistic collections and high visitor numbers, were selected for this study. An evaluative survey was conducted with visitors at each gallery using a standardized set of operational questions. Descriptive statistical analysis was applied to calculate the average appreciation scores for each structure within the aesthetic psychology framework. Qualitative data from interviews and observations were employed to explain and enrich the survey findings. A cross-case analysis was carried out to identify the similarities and differences in the tendencies of aesthetic psychological structures across the two galleries. The findings indicate that three types of contemporary paintings, each with a varying degree of subject abstraction, were appreciated by visitors at both Semarang Gallery and Sangkring Art Space across the affective, perceptual, and cognitive dimensions. Affective responses emerged as the most dominant, followed by perceptual and cognitive responses, with an insignificant difference level (p < 0.05). The finding suggests that the degree of abstraction in contemporary paintings does not significantly affect the public's ability to appreciate them, particularly in affective, perceptual, and interpretative responses.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of welfare for people with disabilities, so special guidance and attention are needed to improve their welfare. Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung is one of the institutions that provides services for people with disabilities, especially in the field of training and skills development. In this case, Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung guides people with disabilities in performing vocational skills in Massage and Shiatsu to achieve independence. This research uses Robert Havighurst's theory related to social welfare development, which includes emotional independence, economic independence, intellectual independence, and social independence. This research uses a qualitative descriptive method, describing vocational skills guidance for the independence of visually impaired individuals at Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung. The location of this research is in Bandung City, at Jl. Pajajaran No.50-52, Pasir Kaliki, Kec. Cicendo, Kota Bandung, Jawa Barat 40171. The results of this research show that the vocational skills guidance in massage and shiatsu provided by Sentra Wyata Guna Bandung can be considered optimal, but the time allocated is still insufficient. Additionally, the Vocational Skills Guidance in Massage and Shiatsu has enabled visually impaired individuals to achieve emotional independence, economic independence, intellectual independence, and social independence. However, inadequate facilities, delayed responses from visually impaired individuals in improving their vocational skills in massage and shiatsu, and insufficient time are factors that hinder the guidance process.

Abstract

The metal casting subject is only given in theory at SMK Bika 1. This does not meet with the Decree of the Head of the Education Standards, Curriculum, and Assessment Agency of Kemendikbud Ristek Number 024/H/KR/2022 which states that casting is one of expertise in the machining program at SMK/MAK. This gap was bridged by the DPTM FT UNY team through making casting practice facilities for SMK Bika 1. The Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) method is applied through the stages such as making of casting practice facilities, pattern models development, training and mentoring for teachers and technicians, implementation of casting facilities on students, and program evaluation. The casting facilities consist of a crucible furnace, sand mold making equipment, pouring equipment, pattern model, and learning module. The facilities for casting practice can improve the teachers and education staff competence of SMK Bika 1, that are understand and capable of doing the casting process which includes operating the crucible furnace, making sand molds, pouring molten metal and cleaning the casting products. The casting facilities have met the needs of SMK Bika 1 as supporting facilities for practice.

Abstract

Street children are accustomed to living on the streets, in terminals, and in public places, often experiencing emotional stress. Their personalities become harsh, rough, and less sensitive. The solution offered is art therapy -based expression painting training as a way to channel hidden dreams and psychological burdens. The activity targets 15 street children at the Indonesian Gold Foundation Shelter in Semarang. Implementers include lecturers with visual arts expertise and counselors to ensure a more comprehensive and thorough training and mentoring. The program includes material presentations and creative practice in three face-to-face sessions, each lasting 5–6 hours. The expression painting approach uses a cycle-based art therapy that integrates cognitive, psychomotor, and affective aspects. The creative practice in each cycle uses art therapy stages including warm-up, recalling event, emotional expression and issues, restitution, and termination. The training results showed an increase in street children's creativity in painting. The first cycle was marked by hesitation and stiff expressions, while the second cycle demonstrated courage and diverse expressions through color and form. Participants were able to express their emotions in a painting and were able to appreciate it. This evidence confirms that the participants' creativity, sensitivity, and courage increased. The painting training has been able to reduce the psychological burden of trauma they experienced. The outputs include accredited articles, video highlights, local media news, and copyrights.
