Abstract

This conceptual article describes the use of online crossword puzzle learning media to improve the ability to compose compound sentences. Online crossword puzzle learning media can be used as an alternative in varying the learning media. The existence of innovative and appropriate learning variations can help to achieve learning objectives and improve student achievement. The use of online crossword puzzle learning media also has various advantages. There are seven advantages of using online crossword puzzle learning media, namely, 1) learner-centred learning, 2) students become creative and think critically, 3) students can solve problems, 4) varied and interesting learning media, 5) students become motivated, 6) increase student achievement, and 7) can be accessed anywhere. In addition, the online crossword puzzle learning media is very effective in learning to compose compound sentences. Making crosswords online for learning to compose compound sentences is very easy, you only need to go through a few steps. Making crosswords online using the Eclipse Crossword Puzzle application and the LIVEWORKSHEETS webpage. It is also easy to apply the results from the Eclipse Crossword Puzzle application and the LIVEWORKSHEETS webpage. Just need to share the link from the LIVEWORKSHEETS webpage with students. Students can also easily access the link via smartphones, laptops, or PCs that are connected to the internet.

Abstract

This study aims to describe a multiliteracy study based on character education as an effort to increase students literacy skills. With the descriptive qualitative literature review method, it is hoped that in the implementation it is expected that multiliterate students will increase and instil strong character education. The data collection technique carried out by the author is through a literature review and field study evaluation of literacy activities in the implementation of Gerakan Magelang Membaca (GMM) in the Regional Education and Culture Office, Grabag District, Magelang Regency. This conceptual study is expected to be useful for teachers as education stakeholders and other parties relevant to this study. The results of the discussion with the analysis of the study that the concept of multiliteracy has been integrated into the education unit level curriculum (KTSP). in the practice of learning, students have gotten used to doing various activities with the basic concepts of multiliteracy. Multiliteracy based on character education has been implemented through character values in the implementation of the school literacy movement. How to improve literacy skills of elementary school students, namely growing awareness of the importance of reading; read 15 minutes before teaching and learning activities (KBM); optimize the role of the library; and make simple writings; and form a reading community. Multiliteracy program with school literacy ability activities to positively shape character and uphold the character values of students so that this conceptual study contributes to improving student literacy.

Abstract

Language-speaking communities have a variety of languages ​​depending on the context or situation and the social factors surrounding them. Social factors which are the different factors in using the language brings out a language variation that distinguishes one language from other languages ​​which are called register. In its use, the register has various functions depending on what, with whom, and how the register is used to interact or communicate. Military Academy cadet is one of the groups who have registered. In their daily life, Military Academy cadets are educated by strict military rules. One of these rules relates to how to communicate between cadets of the same age, junior cadets and senior cadets, as well as between cadets and coaches, caregivers, or the workers (civil servant or army) in Military Academy. This article will describe the register and its functions in cadet conversations in Military Academy.

Abstract

This article explains the theory of speech acts proposed by John L. Austin and his student John R. Searle. Speech act theory is a sub-field of pragmatics. This field of study deals with the ways in which words can be used not only to present information but also to carry out actions. This theory considers three levels or components of speech: locutionary acts (the making of a meaningful statement, saying something that a hearer understands), illocutionary acts (saying something with a purpose, such as to inform), and perlocutionary acts (saying something that causes someone to act). Many view speech acts as the central units of communication, with phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic properties of an utterance serving as ways of identifying the meaning of a speaker’s utterance or illocutionary force. There are five types of Illocutionary points according to Searle: declarations, assertives, expressives, directives, and commissives (1979:viii). A speech act, in order to be successful, needs to be performed along with certain types of conditions. These conditions were categorized by the linguist John Searle, who introduced the term felicity conditions: propositional content condition, preparatory condition, sincerity condition, and essential condition.

Abstract

This article provides a critical review of the education curriculum in Indonesia starting from the implementation of the Competency Based Curriculum (KBK) which was implemented in 2004 to the Merdeka Curriculum which has been implemented since 2022. Through a systematic review method, this research seeks to analyze curriculum developments with a focus on the Based Curriculum. Competencies (2004), Education Unit Level Curriculum (2006), 2013 Curriculum, revised 2013 Curriculum, and Merdeka Curriculum. The results of the review show that each curriculum has a positive impact on students and the education system and has its own unique obstacles. The Competency-Based Curriculum emphasizes the development of generic skills and student character, while the Merdeka Curriculum emphasizes learning freedom and learning recovery as a response to the Covid-19 pandemic. From the analysis of the various curricula, it can be stated that learning from each curriculum is important for forming a future curriculum that is adaptive, high quality and in line with educational needs in Indonesia.

Abstract

Artikel ini membahas dampak signifikan era digital terhadap pendidikan, khususnya dalam konteks kurikulum Merdeka di Indonesia. Pendekatan berbasis genre multimodal (Multomodal-genre based approach) diperkenalkan sebagai kerangka pedagogi yang efektif untuk mengatasi dinamika waktu. Artikel ini menguraikan kegiatan, saran, dan dukungan bagi guru bahasa Inggris SMP di Kabupaten Magelang dalam mengembangkan modul ajaryang selaras dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Artikel ini berfokus pada penerapan pendekatan berbasis genre multimodal dan menekankan pentingnya beradaptasi dengan tujuan kurikulum baru, mengembangkan keterampilan abad ke-21, dan mengintegrasikan teknologi ke dalam praktik kelas. Selain itu, artikel ini memperkenalkan konsep TPACK (Technological Pedagogical and Content Knowledge) sebagai kerangka kerja integrasi teknologi yang efektif dalam pendidikan.

Abstract

Perwatakan tokoh dan konflik sosial dalam naskah drama Kampung All in One karya Chika Widi yang terjadi dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dapat dijadikan sebagai materi pembelajaran bahasa Indonesia pada bab naskah drama kelas XI. Dalam naskah drama ini terdapat banyak perbedaan watak antartokoh dan beragam konflik sosial yang terjadi di lingkungan masyarakat maupun sekolah. Konflik tersebut terjadi karena adanya perbedaan ide, kepentingan, dan keinginan. Adapun tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mendeskripsikan perwatakan tokoh dalam naskah drama Kampung All in One karya Chika Widi; (2) mendeskripsikan konflik sosial yang terjadi dalam naskah drama Kampung All in One karya Chika Widi; (3) mendeskripsikan implementasi perwatakan dan konflik antartokoh dalam naskah drama Kampung All in One karya Chika Widi sebagai materi ajar pembelajaran sastra di SMA. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif karena menguraikan dan menganalisis data berupa perwatakan tokoh dan konflik sosial. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah naskah drama Kampung All in One karya Chika Widi yang dimuat di Wattpad. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan baca dan catat. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu teknik analisis teks. Hasil dari penelitian ini terdapat tiga, yaitu (1) deskripsi perwatakan tokoh protagonis, antagonis, dan tritagonis. (2) deskripsi konflik sosial meliputi konflik sosial akibat perbedaan ide, kepentingan, dan keinginan; (3) implementasi perwatakan tokoh dan konflik sosial dijadikan sebagai alternatif materi ajar pada kelas XI. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ditemukan (1) tokoh yang dominan muncul adalah tokoh antagonis sejumlah 16 data; (2) konflik sosial yang dominan muncul adalah konflik sosial akibat beda kepentingan sejumlah 5 data. Penelitian ini dapat dijadikan sebagai referensi bagi peneliti lain. Kata kunci: perwatakan tokoh, konflik sosial, naskah drama, sosiologi sastra.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi adanya fenomena bahasa berupa ditemukan beragam jenis, bentuk, dan maksud tindak tutur petugas bank dan nasabah dalam transaksi perbankan di Bank Jateng KCP Grabag. Latarbelakang nasabah Bank Jateng KCP Grabag yang beragam dari usia, pendidikan, profesi, tingkat sosial, adat, serta adanya 4 kecamatan sekaligus di area Bank Jateng KCP Grabag sangat tepat sebagai tempat pengambilan data pada penelitian ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan jenis, memperoleh bentuk, dan memperloleh deskripsi maksud tindak tutur dalam transaksi perbankan di Bank Jateng KCP Grabag. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sumber dialog atau percakapan petugas bank dan nasabah. Data penelitian ini adalah kalimat dalam tuturan petugas bank dan nasabah pada saat bertransaksi di Bank Jateng KCP Grabag. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik rekam, simak, dan catat. Wujud data berupa kalimat yang diduga mengandung jenis, bentuk dan maksud tindak tutur. Teknik analisis data dalam penelitian ini menggunakan model deskripsi analitik. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa diperoleh tindak tutur yang terdiri dari jenis, bentuk, dan maksud. Jenis tindak tutur yang ditemukan berupa, (1) lokusi, (2) ilokusi, dan (3) perlokusi. Bentuk tindak tutur meliputi (1) langsung, (2) tidak langsung, dan (3) literal. Maksud yang terbentuk meliputi menawar, menginformasikan, dan menolak. Penelitian mengenai tindak tutur perbankan dengan fokus kajian yang berbeda masih dapat dilakukan. Penelitian lain juga dapat dilakukan dengan tidak dibatasi pada tindak tutur bahasa dalam dialog petugas bank dan nasabah, serta dapat memperkaya materi pembelajaran teks negosiasi di SMA. Kata kunci: jenis tindak tutur, bentuk tindak tutur, maksud tindak tutur, transaksi perbankan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya penggunaan gaya bahasa dalam teks puisi. Dalam menulis puisi, gaya bahasa merupakan salah satu aspek yan perlu dikuasai peserta didik untuk membuat sebuah karya puisi. Pengggunaan gaya bahasa dapat membantu peserta didik memahami cara menulis puisi menggunakan elemen bahasa untuk mengungkapkan perasaan dan ide secara lebih kompleks. Dari hasil observasi, bahan ajar yang digunakan dalam menulis puisi dirasa masih kurang mendukung proses pembelajaran. Penelitin ini bertujuan untuk menemukan gaya bahasa yang terdapat pada antologi puisi Kabar Sukacinta karya Joko Pinurbo serta mengimplementasikannya menjadi bahan ajar di sekolah. Analisis penelitian ini menggunakan teori Gorys Keraf. Desain penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian yang digunakan adalah gaya bahasa dalam antologi puisi Kabar Sukacintai karya Joko Pinurbo. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik baca dan catat. Teknik analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif. Hasil  penelitian ini menujukkan jenis-jenis gaya bahasa yang diperoleh dari kalimat pada larik dan bait pada antologi puisi Kabar Sukacinta. Gaya bahasa yang ditemukan yaitu gaya bahasa retoris dan gaya bahasa kiasan. Adapun gaya bahasa retoris yang ditemukan meliputi gaya bahasa aliterasi, asonansi, prolepsis, perifrasis, dan kiasmus. Sedangkan gaya bahasa kiasan yang ditemukan meliputi gaya bahasa simile,  personifikasi, metonimia, ironi, dan satire.

Abstract

This research analyzes the effectiveness of the group inquiry learning model based on religious character values in enhancing narrative writing skills, specifically in the form of diaries. The objective is to evaluate how this model integrates Islamic religious education with literacy culture while fostering religious character values in the learning process. Employing a quasi-experimental method with a matching-only pretest-posttest control group design, the study was conducted with 76 eighth-grade students from Madrasah Tsanawiyah Negeri in Magelang City, Central Java, Indonesia. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and tests assessing narrative writing that incorporated religious character values such as siddiq, amanah, tabligh, and fathanah. The results revealed that the experimental group, which used the group inquiry model, showed significant improvements in writing skills (t-count = 3.081, sig. = 0.018). The N-Gain for the experimental group was 22.33, compared to 0.52 for the control group, demonstrating the model’s effectiveness. This research underscores the importance of integrating group inquiry learning with religious character values, as it significantly improves narrative writing skills, enhances student engagement, and instills core Islamic values, thereby contributing to the development of both literacy and character education in Islamic schools.
