Abstract

The existence of criminal law is part of the national law that organizes efforts to combat crime through the criminal justice system. Lapas plays a crucial role in the modern criminal justice system, with a focus on the rehabilitation of prisoners. The fact that Lapas is managed by the Indonesian state so far has never been rid of some problems such as overcapacity, inadequate facilities, and a lack of allocation of funds to operate prison facilities, which ultimately affects the quality of Lapas performance in Indonesia. This research using comparative legal methods to find out the similarities and differences among the elements of each legal system. The object of comparison is the State of the United States, which is administered in accordance with private parties. The results show that the Indonesian government has indeed issued a budget for the management of Lapas but has not been able to create an effective Lapas organization. Efforts that can be made by the government for future Lapas management can be achieved in cooperation with private companies in the framework of the development of Lapas infrastructure and funding sources, which are fundamental needs in order to efficiently manage Lapas.

Abstract

Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan konsentrasi siswa dengan mengajarkan keterampilan buah melon khas Kalimantan Timur berupa cincin dan gelang. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan di Kuala Langat Learning Studio, Malaysia. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi yang melibatkan 41 siswa berusia 6 sampai 13 tahun.  Kegiatan ini tidak hanya mengembangkan keterampilan dan kreativitas kerajinan anak-anak, tetapi juga mengenalkan mereka pada warisan budaya Indonesia. Dengan menggunakan motif Kalimantan, anak-anak belajar memahami dan melestarikan tradisi melalui karya seni yang mereka ciptakan. Karya-karya ini merupakan simbol kebanggaan, hasil kerja keras mereka selama menjalani pelatihan, dan bukti nyata kemampuan mereka dalam berkreasi dan berinovasi.

Abstract

Pendidikan karakter mandiri merupakan aspek krusial dalam mempersiapkan mahasiswa menghadapi tantangan dunia kerja yang semakin kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi dan menganalisis strategi pembelajaran yang efektif dalam meningkatkan karakter mandiri di kalangan mahasiswa di beberapa universitas di Indonesia. Dengan pendekatan kuantitatif dan desain survei, data dikumpulkan dari 280 responden melalui kuesioner yang dirancang untuk mengukur pengaruh strategi pembelajaran aktif, dukungan dosen, lingkungan belajar, dan keterampilan manajerial terhadap kemandirian mahasiswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa metode pembelajaran aktif, seperti problem-based learning (PBL) dan project-based learning (PjBL), secara signifikan meningkatkan kemandirian mahasiswa, dengan rata-rata skor mencapai 4,2. Selain itu, dukungan dari dosen yang memberikan umpan balik konstruktif berkontribusi positif, dengan 85% responden mengakui pentingnya peran dosen dalam proses pembelajaran. Lingkungan belajar yang kolaboratif juga terbukti berpengaruh, di mana mahasiswa yang belajar dalam kelompok menunjukkan hasil yang lebih baik dalam pengembangan karakter mandiri. Keterampilan manajerial, khususnya manajemen waktu, juga terbukti penting dalam mendukung kemandirian. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa institusi pendidikan perlu menerapkan strategi pembelajaran yang interaktif dan kolaboratif, serta memberikan dukungan yang memadai kepada mahasiswa, untuk mempersiapkan mereka menghadapi tantangan di masa depan. Temuan ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi bagi pengembangan kurikulum dan kebijakan pendidikan tinggi di Indonesia.

Abstract

An effective educational curriculum must be able to integrate the development of students' knowledge and character, especially in facing the challenges of the modern era. Based on these needs, the Full Fulfill curriculum  was developed to combine aspects of academic knowledge with character formation through in-depth learning approaches, namely Mindful Learning, Meaningful Learning, and Joyful Learning. The purpose of this study is to explore the effectiveness of the Full Fulfill curriculum  in improving the quality of learning and shaping students' character through the habit of positive behavior, such as healthy living habits and society. This approach is designed so that students not only receive theoretical knowledge, but also engage in holistic self-development, which includes physical, social, and emotional aspects. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method, with data collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis. The sample consisted of students and teachers at several schools that have implemented this curriculum. Data analysis was carried out by referring to the theories of character education and active learning approaches to ensure the relevance and success of the curriculum. The results of the study show that the Full Fulfill curriculum  is effective in facilitating students to learn deeply and form good habits, such as the habit of waking up early, worshipping, exercising, loving to study, eating healthy, socializing, and sleeping on time. In addition, five main strategies—counseling guidance training, teacher competency improvement, character building, appointment of BK teachers, and a nutritious lunch program—play a significant role in supporting the implementation of this curriculum. The Full Fulfill curriculum  offers a holistic approach, emphasizing a balance between knowledge and character building in a supportive educational environment. These findings contribute to the development of a modern curriculum that is more adaptive to the needs of today's students, with the hope that this curriculum can be widely applied to achieve sustainable and holistic educational outcomes.

Abstract

Through the historical lens, we can see that the development of religious group diversity in certain religions is real and inevitable, including in Islam. Various factors can be put forward to explain this, but of all possible explanations, education surely has the crucial role. In the Indonesian context, the development of Islamic education has generated multi-faces of Muslims. Since the first educational reform in the early twentieth century, Islamic education has not only been a response to the colonial government’s ethische politiek policy, but has also become a crucial factor in the making of Indonesian Muslim faces. This article attempts to explore how the Islamic educational contest generally has shaped the Indonesian Muslim profile, at least since the early twentieth century until nowadays, with heuristic and sociological approaches in the frame of process philosophy, specifically on development of education, rather than political and ideological debate. The aim of this article is to illustrate the extent to which educational developments and contestations among Islamic groups have general significance for the making of Indonesian Muslim profiles. This article found that: (1) educational contestation has a significant role in the making of multi-faces of Indonesian Muslims; (2) the diversity of Muslim profiles has steadily increased since educational reform and contestation took place; and (3) educational contestation occurs in a very dynamic way that involves not only ideological indoctrination, but also educational innovation and creative adaptation.

Abstract

This paper aims to discuss how the impact of conflict on the development of education in Aceh today, because Aceh as a conflict area have different conditions with other areas in indonesia, especially in the development of education. This paper is prepared using a literature study approach, in which data are collected from secondary sources in the form of documents related to current educational development, as well as the results of research related to conflict and educational development. Current conditions indicate that Aceh's educational participation is growing rapidly and exceeding than other areas not affected by the conflict. Conflict has contributed to the acceleration of educational development for the people of Aceh today. The success of educational development is indicated by the increasing number of educational development indicators (APS, APM, HLS, ARLS etc) that surpass the national average. When compared to other areas not exposed to conflict, the development of education in Aceh is quite successful.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of the 7 Kejora Literacy Community Program on the academic and non-academic potential of students at MA Al-Huda. Using a descriptive qualitative method, data was collected through interviews, observations, and documentation over three months. The results indicate that this program successfully enhances students' reading interest, writing skills, and critical thinking abilities. Students’ achievements in poetry competitions and published works illustrate significant development in their literacy skills. Moreover, the program has contributed to improving students’ communication skills, which are essential for interactive learning. These findings align with modern literacy theories emphasizing the integration of critical thinking and communicative abilities in education. This study recommends the continuous development of literacy programs and their implementation in other schools to maximize their positive impact in shaping a literate young generation ready to compete in the information era.

Abstract

This reflective paper aims to discuss the importance of using a cultural approach to resolve political conflicts and see the past as a learning space to create a civilization in the present and future. In the context of conflict, Aceh has become a medium for learning how the political conflict between GAM and the Indonesian government is resolved. The experience of past conflicts, a series of failed negotiations, and the cultural approach to the Helsinki negotiations, in parallel, serve as important lessons and evidence that historical-humanism does not work in a vacuum. This article illustrates that a cultural approach is a key to successful negotiations for a resolution. This is due to several things: first, building an estuary of peace with a cultural approach taking into account the representations and interests of the two conflicting parties, related to technicalities and mechanisms and matters of a substantive nature. Second, understanding and appreciating the perspective of others is important to know what messages and aspirations have not been conveyed properly so far. And third, acknowledging past mistakes and sins, then sincerely and boldly apologizing to those who were hurt, is a form of acknowledging regret for what has been done.AbstrakTulisan reflektif ini bertujuan untuk membahas pentingnya menggunakan pendekatan budaya untuk menyelesaikan konflik politik dan melihat masa lalu sebagai ruang belajar untuk menciptakan peradaban di masa sekarang dan masa depan. Dalam konteks konflik, Aceh menjadi media pembelajaran bagaimana konflik politik antara GAM dan pemerintah Indonesia diselesaikan. Pengalaman konflik masa lalu, serangkaian negosiasi yang gagal, dan pendekatan kultural terhadap negosiasi Helsinki, secara paralel, menjadi pelajaran dan bukti penting bahwa humanisme-historis tidak bekerja dalam ruang hampa. Artikel ini menggambarkan bahwa pendekatan budaya adalah kunci keberhasilan negosiasi untuk sebuah resolusi. Hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa hal: pertama, membangun muara perdamaian dengan pendekatan budaya dengan memperhatikan representasi dan kepentingan kedua pihak yang bertikai, terkait teknis dan mekanisme serta hal-hal yang bersifat substantif. Kedua, memahami dan menghargai cara pandang orang lain penting untuk mengetahui pesan dan aspirasi apa yang selama ini belum tersampaikan dengan baik. Dan ketiga, mengakui kesalahan dan dosa masa lalu, kemudian dengan tulus dan berani meminta maaf kepada yang tersakiti, merupakan bentuk pengakuan penyesalan atas apa yang telah dilakukan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang posisi Ulama Aceh sebagai roh kebudayaan untuk proses rekonsiliasi pasca konflik Aceh. Dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif pendekatan deskriptif, artikel ini menunjukkan bahwa dalam konteks sosio kultural masyarakat aceh, posisi ulama masih menempati strata yang tinggi. Kontribusi dan peran ulama dalam lintas sejarah hingga saat ini telah mengakar dalam kehidupan sosial masyarakat Aceh. Selain itu, penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa dimensi kultural ulama sebagai ruh kebudayaan masyarakat Aceh dapat menjadi solusi dari rekonsiliasi Aceh untuk perdamaian yang berkelanjutan. Hal ini berarti bahwa pelibatan ulama aceh secara praktis dalam kerja rekonsiliasi dapat menjadi salah satu faktor pendukung perdamaian berkelanjutan di Aceh.
