Abstract

The accusation of Islamic boarding schools as hotbeds of terrorism is still a phenomenal issue. This is contrary to the values of Islamic boarding schools which uphold peace. This study aims to narrate the implications of peace education in Islamic boarding schools in responding to the issue of terrorism. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation studies to be analyzed using Miles and Huberman's model. This research shows: (1) Teaching materials (textbooks) and Al-Irsyad Islamic Boarding School regulations direct students to an ideology that is highly anti-terrorism, this data is taken from the description of the responses that researchers see from the side of perception with convincing statements that peace is a nature that must be attempted, either with a theological or rational approach. This response was strengthened by the views of the management and students who stated that peace is a common property so that all acts of terrorism are not part of Jihad. (2) Santri's response to terrorism has implications for strengthening social solidarity, building tasamuh attitudes, establishing mutual assistance, being fair and wise, and understanding diversity. The second result contributes to fighting accusations of Islamic boarding schools as hotbeds of terrorism, while simultaneously confirming that peace education in Islamic boarding schools can be used as a model for public schools in fighting terrorism issues.

Abstract

This study evaluates the ability of mathematics lecturers in Indonesian universities to use TPACK (Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge). It uses a Sequential Explanatory research method that integrates quantitative and qualitative approaches. The findings indicate that overall, the TPACK skills of mathematics lecturers in Indonesia are at a very good level (85,6%). The questionnaire data showed that the aspects of gender, length of teaching, and level of education had average scores of 85.2%, 85.5%, and 86.1%, respectively. Students' responses to lecturers' TPACK were also high, with an average questionnaire score of 85.1%. Further analysis showed no significant difference in the TPACK ability of mathematics lecturers based on gender, years of teaching, or level of education. However, partial analysis showed that female lecturers' CK and PK components were superior to male lecturers. This indicates a significant effect of gender partially on lecturers' TPACK. At the same time, the length of teaching and level of education does not have a significant impact either partially or jointly on the TPACK ability of mathematics lecturers in Indonesia. This study provides in-depth insights into the factors that influence the TPACK of mathematics lecturers, with important implications for professional development and improving the quality of learning in the Indonesian higher education context

Abstract

This paper describes an epistemological perspective of a new discipline in applied linguistics studies called "computational linguistics," the challenge and response faced by Indonesian linguists, and his problems in developing it. The analysis is carried out by utilizing epistemological concepts and theories, combined with Gianluca Carnabuci's theory called "knowledge hybridization" and the "challenge and response" theory proposed by Arnold J. Toynbee. The results show that epistemologically, computational linguistics has the validity to be called a scientific discipline. However, the response of Indonesian academics to its existence is still inadequate. This is related to the various challenges they face. For this reason, it is necessary to make multiple efforts to overcome it.

Abstract

Acts of violence, both verbal and non-verbal, that threaten children often occur in interactions between adults and children. Acts of violence like this are very counterproductive in the world of education. This article aims to analyze how the Prophet PBUH interacted with kids who had their universe. Following that, a descriptive analysis was conducted on the hadiths about the Prophet's contact with children that were recorded in the hadith books. Child-friendly education is a concept that emphasizes the importance of fostering a sense of safety and enjoyment in children. The Prophet's interactions with children provide valuable guidelines for child-friendly education. He greets them with a sense of security, appreciates their unique world, and allows them to play without scolding. He encourages sadness by joking with them and does not discriminate against children based on gender. This child-friendly educational model deserves further research to identify more comprehensive and in-depth prophetic education methods. The Prophet's affectionate approach towards children makes him a valuable model for educators.

Abstract

This study addresses the pressing socio-economic challenges facing contemporary Muslim societies, particularly in Indonesia, including structural poverty, income inequality, and socio-economic instability, which are exacerbated by the lack of an integrated, value-based economic framework. The primary objective of this research is to formulate a Qur’an-based model of economic sociology that offers a holistic, normative framework integrating both spiritual and material dimensions of economic life. Employing a qualitative approach through library research, the study utilizes thematic interpretation (tafsīr maudhū’ī) of selected Qur’anic verses. The analysis also engages classical Islamic scholars such as Ibn Khaldun and al-Birūnī, and contemporary thinkers including Kuntowijoyo, Jürgen Habermas, and David J. Gray, to ensure a comprehensive theoretical synthesis. The findings reveal that the Qur’anic model of economic sociology is built upon five core principles: divinity (tawh}īd, ‘ibādah, h}isāb) which establishes spiritual accountability in economic activity; welfare, focusing on sustenance, effort, and ecological harmony; justice, emphasizing equity, the caliphate mandate, moral accountability, and rule of law; wealth distribution, operationalized through zakat, infaq, waqf, and social safety mechanisms; and crisis anticipation to guide strategic responses in times of economic disruption. This research contributes significantly to the academic discourse by expanding the scope of Islamic economic sociology and proposing a Prophetic Sociology framework that combines humanization (amr ma’rūf), liberation (nahī munkar), and transcendence (īmān). It offers a compelling alternative to Western liberal-economic models dominated by individualism and market absolutism. The study recommends further empirical research to test the practical application of this model within various Muslim-majority contexts, and to inform policy interventions aimed at distributive justice, ethical economic governance, and sustainable social welfare systems in Indonesia and beyond.

Abstract

Long-distance marriage poses profound psychological challenges for women, particularly in sustaining emotional well-being amid prolonged physical separation from their spouses. This study investigates the extent to which stress symptoms and coping strategies influence the subjective well-being of wives in long-distance marital arrangements. Employing a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design, the research involved 41 wives residing in Bandung, Indonesia, who live apart from their husbands and are parenting adolescent children aged 13 to 21 years. Respondents were recruited using a non-probability snowball sampling technique. Descriptive results indicate that participants generally experienced mild stress symptoms, demonstrated moderate levels of coping strategies, and reported high subjective well-being. Correlation analyses revealed a significant negative association between stress symptoms and subjective well-being, while problem-focused coping strategies exhibited a significant positive correlation. Further regression analysis confirmed that stress symptoms negatively predicted subjective well-being (β = -0.44, p < 0.01), whereas coping strategies positively contributed to it (β = 0.38, p < 0.05). These findings underscore the critical role of adaptive coping mechanisms in mitigating psychological distress and enhancing emotional resilience among women managing long-distance marriages. This study offers valuable empirical insights for family practitioners and mental health professionals in developing culturally responsive interventions to support women in trans-local family structures.
