Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan buku teks sintaksis Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa, Sastra Indonesia dan Daerah, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Baturaja. Metode penelitian ini adalah Research and Development. Subjek penelitian ini berjumlah 26 mahasiswa. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah angket (kuesioner), wawancara, dan tes. Teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dengan rumus uji t. Data uji lapangan terbatas diperoleh melalui tes pilihan ganda. Berdasarkan hasil tes pada tes sintaksis dan ruang lingkupnya mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 53,46 menjadi 71,27 (selisih 17,81). Hasil tes kata sebagai satuan sintaksis menunjukkan nilai 52,81 menjadi 71,81 (selisih 19,00). Hasil tes frasa mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 52,08 menjadi 69,00 (selisih 16,92). Hasil Tes klausa mengalami peningkatan nilai rata-rata dari 52,31 menjadi 70,27 (selisih 17,96). Selanjutnya, hasil tes kalimat menunjukkan nilai rata-rata 56,23 menjadi 73,88 (selisih 17,65). Hasil penelitian dan pengembangan ini menunjukkan adanya pengaruh potensial dalam meningkatkan kemampuan dan pemahaman mahasiswa pada mata kuliah sintaksis bahasa Indonesia.

Abstract

This research aims to (1) to know the ability of VIII students of SMP Negeri 4 OKU to write posters before and after using the meaningful instructional design model and (2) to know the effectiveness of instructional model Meaningful Instructional Design in writing poster of student of class VIII SMP Negeri 32 OKU. The method used in this research is the experimental method with One Group Pretest-Posttest Design. The sample of the research is class VIII B totaling 36 people. Technique of data collection using essay test. Data analysis using statistical technique with t-test formula (t-test). The results showed that on pretest writing posters, students who scored 56-65 amounted to 11 people, students who scored 46-55 amounted to 21 people, students who get the value of 00-45 amounted to 4 people with an average value of 55 or less category . On posttest writing posters, students who score 80-100 amounted to 20 people, students who get 66-79 amounted to 9 people, students who get 56-65 amounted to 7 people with an average of 74.58 or good category. Based on the calculation, 5% significant level of writing poster known t-table 2.00 and t-count 15,53, t-count bigger than t-table (15,53 2,00). Thus, it can be concluded that the instructional model Meaningful Instructional Design effectively used in learning posters writing students of class VIII SMP Negeri 32 OKU.Keywords: effectiveness, meaningful instructional design, learning, writing, poster

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe social stratification in the novel of Pabrik written by Putu Wijaya based on the elements if its intrinsic. The method which was used in this research is descriptive method. Data analysis techniques begin with data reduction, data presentation, conclusions, and verification. Test the validity of the data in the form of expert validity test related to the results of analysis of research data. The results of the analysis of social stratification in this novel tell various problems about social stratification in the environment of a factory. Social stratification that occurs includes classes in society, criteria in the layers of society, and position or status in society that is seen based on the criteria contained in the intrinsic elements contained in the novel. Social stratification in the novel of Pabrik can be used as one of the teaching materials for Indonesian language teachers in explaining the building elements of the novel.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of the singing method on students' phonation abilities. The method used is an experimental method with a pre-experimental model design one group pretest-posstest. Data collection techniques using essay test techniques. The sample in this study was class A.2.1 with a total of 39 students. The data analysis used the t test formula using the IBM SPSS 24 program. The results showed that the singing method was effective in improving students' phonation skills in the Phonology course. The effectiveness of this singing method was proven by the results of the pretest with the student's average score of 83.7 with a very good category, while the posttest results of 85.4 were also in a very good category. Based on the results of statistical test analysis using SPSS 24, it can be explained that the average value obtained is 1.65 with a standard deviation of 14.391, and the average standard error value is 2.433. From the results of the data analysis, the t test value is 3,970 with a df of 34.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the novel building structure, the moral aspects of Tere Liye's Hafalan Shalat Delisa novel, and its relevance to literary learning in high school. The research method used is descriptive qualitative method. The object of this research is the moral aspect. The data source in this study is the novel Hafalan Shalat Delisa by Tere Liye. The technique of collecting data uses library techniques, listening, taking notes, and interviews. Data analysis techniques using dialectical techniques. The results showed that (1) structural analysis resulted in the theme of this novel being unyielding, patient, and steadfast. The flow used is a progressive path. The main character is named Delisa and additional figures are Ummi Salamah, Kak Fatimah, Kak Aisyah, Kak Zahra, Abi Usman, Koh Acan, Ustadz Rahman, Ibu Guru Nur, Sersan Ahmed, Prajurit Smith/Salam, Suster Shopi, Tiur, Umam, and Kak Ubai. The setting in this novel is located in Lhok Nga, the aircraft carrier, and the hospital. The time frame is between 2004 and 2005. The social background includes life habits, traditions, and beliefs in religion; (2) moral aspects in the novel Hafalan Shalat Delisa include honesty, authentic values, responsibility, independence, and realistic and critical morals. Then, (3) the results of this study have relevance to literature learning in high school which is indicated by the existence of material about moral values ​​in novels as part of character education that must be learned by students.

Abstract

Novels are unique in telling every event in the life of the main character. Likewise, in the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari, he tries to tell the main female character from a gender perspective according to his era. For this reason, this study aims to describe: 1) the structure of the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari, 2) the manifestation of gender equality in the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari, and 3) the implementation of research results in the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari in learning literature in high school. The data in this study are in the form of words, sentences, expressions, and discourses that contain elements of gender issues in the novel Bekisar Merah. The sampling technique used is purposive sampling, while the data collection uses documentation and note-taking techniques. Test the validity of the data applied, namely member check and validation of literary experts. The data analysis technique used a semiotic model reading technique consisting of heuristic and hermeneutic readings. The results of the study show that: 1) the structure of the novel Bekisar Merah, which is based on Stanton's fictional theory, carries the theme of women's struggles in realizing gender equality with men. The facts of the novel are divided into three, namely: characters and characterizations, setting, and storyline. 2) The forms of gender equality contained in the novel are: (a) women as equal partners of men, (b) equal rights and obligations between men and women, and (c) opponents of violence against women. 3) The results of the study were implemented in a learning scenario with KD 7.2 analyzing the intrinsic and extrinsic elements of the novel. Thus, it can be concluded that the novel Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari can be implemented in learning literature in high school.

Abstract

The aims of this study are to find out (1) what are the students’ perceptions toward speaking achievement on the use of British Parliamentary Debating System; (2) what are the students’ perceptions toward critical thinking on the use of British Parliamentary Debating System. The study conducted as an experimental method. Non-equivalent control group design was applied in this study. The population of this study was all semester students of English Study Program of Baturaja University in the academic year 2017/2018 with the total number of population is 118. Cluster random sampling was used in taking the sample. The total numbers of students as samples are 51 students. Students who belong to the experimental group had been taught by using British Parliamentary Debate. The questionnaire was used as the instrument in identifying the students’ perceptions of BP Debate toward speaking achievement and critical thinking. The questionnaire was distributed after the posttest in the experimental group. The result showed that most of the students thought that British Parliamentary Debating System stimulated critical thinking actively, easier students in giving argument constructively, helped students in giving the relevant argument and to find the way in making or providing good arguments. BP Debate also stimulated creative thinking and most of them thought that British Parliamentary Debating System stimulated critical thinking actively, easier students in giving argument constructively, helped students in giving the relevant argument and to find the way in making or providing good arguments. Abstract

This study is aimed at demonstrating how students in the University of Bengkulu's master's program in Indonesian language education have improved their capacity to employ qualitative content analysis techniques. This study uses a classroom action research method with the Kemmis and MC model. Data collection techniques using observation, interviews, tests, and documentation. Data analysis techniques are: 1) analyzing qualitative data, namely observation data, interviews, and document analysis; 2) analyzing quantitative data, namely performance test data, and 3) interpreting and setting indicators of success of actions. Test the validity of the data using the technique of inter rater, member check, and triangulation of data sources. The results showed that the application of case method carried out online through Zoom Cloud Meetings and LMS University of Bengkulu was able to improve the ability to use qualitative content analysis methods for students. Improvement both in terms of the learning process that activates the learning experience through solving discourse analysis cases at the level of knowledge and activities trying to analyze class discourse, as well as increasing learning outcomes in the first cycle by 16% which reached a value of 80, increasing in cycle 2 by 91.66% which reaches a value of 80.

Abstract

The aim of this study is to find out whether or not is there any significantly improvement on students’ speaking achievement who are taught by using British Parliamentary Debating System. The study was conducted as an experimental method. Non-equivalent control group design will be applied in this study. The population was all semester students of English Education Study Program of Baturaja University in the academic year 2017/2018 with the total number of population were 118. Cluster random sampling was used in taking the sample. The total numbers of students as sample were 51 students. There were three raters who will be involved in working and scoring the oral tests of speaking achievement. Based on the result of data analysis, the significant (2-tailed) between pre- and post- test in experimental group was 0,000 which means there was significant improvement in experimental group, while the significant (2-tailed) between pre- and post- test in control group was 0,677 which means there was no significant improvement in control group. The mean difference in the independent sample t-test between experiment and control group was 21.537. It indicated that there was a significant difference in students’ speaking achievement between those who were taught by using British Parliamentary Debating System and those who were not.

Abstract

This study aims to describe knowing how children's ability to acquire language, seen from the acquisition of the lexicon in children aged 2 years. The data in this study is the child's speech ability after 2 years. This study used a qualitative descriptive design. The results of this study, children aged 2 years have been able to pronounce according to the language he mastered, thus children aged 2 years can say what words he got from the language where he got both from his family and the surrounding environment by using lexicon acquisition.
