Abstract

Children's education faces challenges in providing innovative and engaging learning methods in the digital era. The biggest challenge is the limited use of technology as a learning medium because educators are less skilled in utilizing it. In an effort to overcome this, YouTube Kids, an application specifically designed for children with educational video content, can be an effective solution. This application provides a variety of safe and age-appropriate educational videos, as well as parental control features to ensure content security. The use of YouTube Kids as a learning medium can increase student engagement, information retention, and understanding of material through interactive concept visualization. Therefore, training for educators at Darul Mubtadi'in 02 Kindergarten in utilizing YouTube Kids is very important to create a more innovative, engaging, and effective learning environment. This training aims to improve teachers' skills in using technology and digital media, as well as integrating YouTube Kids content into the curriculum, so as to provide an active, creative, and enjoyable learning atmosphere for students.

Abstract

This study examines the application of the One Day One Reading (ODOR) method in increasing the reading interest of grade 3 students at MI Azzainiyah II Karanganyar. The primary focus of this study is to explore the impact of daily reading activities carried out before lessons start, as well as the challenges faced while applying this method. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study type, data collected through interviews, class observations, and documentation analysis. The findings of the study show that although ODOR has succeeded in increasing students' interest in reading, time constraints and book diversity are important factors that affect the program's success. In addition, home environment support, such as the role of parents in accompanying reading activities, has also been proven to increase the success of ODOR. The implications of these findings provide important insights for developing more flexible and effective literacy programs at the elementary school level and improving understanding of the factors that influence students' reading habits.

Abstract

This study explores the use of Kahoot as an interactive learning tool to enhance student motivation in Social Studies. Motivated by the low enthusiasm and passive participation often observed in conventional, theory-heavy Social Studies lessons, the research adopts a descriptive qualitative case study approach. The study involved 25 students and followed a cycle of planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Findings indicate a significant increase in student motivation and engagement. Students demonstrated greater enthusiasm, active participation, and curiosity during lessons using Kahoot. The gamified quiz environment created a fun, competitive learning atmosphere and allowed real-time assessment of student understanding. Beyond improving classroom dynamics, the study highlights critical implications for educational management. Integrating digital tools like Kahoot into classroom practice can serve as a strategic component in learning management, promoting a more student-centered, participatory, and data-informed teaching process. Educators and school leaders are encouraged to incorporate gamification strategies to support motivation and foster a culture of active learning. Kahoot proves to be not only a teaching aid but also a managerial tool for enhancing instructional planning, engagement tracking, and performance evaluation.

Abstract

This research aims to assess the effectiveness of environmental awareness programs in fostering waste sorting habits among young children at early childhood education. Early childhood education plays a crucial role in instilling sustainable habits, yet there is limited research on how interactive and hands-on learning methods influence environmental consciousness at this stage. The study utilized a qualitative approach with naturalistic observation, supplemented by interviews and direct community partnership program. Data were gathered from both children and teachers through observations, feedback sessions, and participation in waste sorting activities. The findings revealed that children actively engaged in sorting wet and dry waste, demonstrating improved understanding of waste management practices. Teachers reported that the children retained the concepts, showing enthusiasm and applying them outside the classroom. Additionally, parental involvement reinforced the learning, helping to maintain consistent practice at home. The results highlighted the importance of creative, hands-on methods, and teacher involvement in ensuring the sustainability of environmental habits. The study contributes valuable insights into designing future environmental education programs for young children, suggesting that long-term success relies on collaborative efforts from teachers, parents, and the community. Future programs should prioritize interactive, participatory approaches and continuous follow-up to ensure lasting impact.
