Abstract

Water is one an important element that can affect life in nature. To increase water resources, a long-term and short-term strategy is needed. Kelampok River has not been utilized optimally by the community. For this reason, it is necessary to build a weir that serves to raise water level. The planning for the construction of the Kedung Jeruk Weir in Pringapus District, Semarang Regency aims to improve the socio-economic environment in the surrounding area. The redesign is based on secondary data with other supporting data. The analyzes carried out include: hydrological analysis, planning dimensional, analysis of the stability of the weir body, and the safety of the weir body. From the results of the hydrological analysis which includes the calculation of planned rainfall using the Thiesen Polygon method and flood discharge using the Synthetic Unit Hydrograph (HSS) Gama 1 method, the water requirement for irrigation in Pringapus Village is 0.3091 m3/s and the 50th flood discharge is 206, 01 m3/s. Weir width 36 m with 0.83 m high weir. The width of the weir crest is 30.4 m, the flushing width is 3.6 m and the pillar width is 2 m (2 Pillars 1 m each). The radius of the weir of the round threshold type is 0.8 m, the stilling pool type is USBR Type III with a length of 9 m. The value of stability during normal water conditions and flood water conditions is still above the safety value so that the weir building meets the requirements and is safe.

Abstract

This research aims to develop the comprehensionof the presence of an Islamophobicoutlook in counter-terrorism measures in Indonesia. Thisoutlook affects both the process of formulating and implementing counter-terrorism policies. This undergoes a process of institutionalization by interpreting terrorism in statutory regulations because it crept through a formal structure whileformulating the policy.By using a qualitative approach, and content and critical analysis, this research investigates three cases of the implementation of the counter-terrorism policies:the screening of Muhammad and Alis names at Soekarno Hatta airport, contradiction in the status of the bomber by Leopard at the Taman Anggrek Mall, and the identification of Siyono as an extreme Islamic activist. We argue that the implementation of counter-terrorism policies encounters accountability issues, especially regarding the emergence of authority abuse and double standards during implementation. It confirms the public perception that the counter-terrorism policy is imbued with hostility towards Islam.

Abstract

Abstract

The event was held with the aim to improve the productivity of coconut shell craftsmen (bathok) in the village of Santan and Ngimbang Bantul, using the concept ofIntegrated Production Process. These objectives are translated into specific objectives, namely procurement of appropriate technology, improve the ability of craftsmen in business management, and improve the ability of craftsmen in the use of the internet as a marketing medium. The concept of integrated production processes are translated into three activities: procurement of appropriate technology, the Internet as a marketing medium for training, and business management training. This activity is carried out by using lectures, discussions, demonstrations, handson and observation. Lecture method is used in the process of delivering training materials. Besides, it is also used in providing motivation to craftsmen to always defend and promote the spirit of trying as a major capital in increasing productivity of the craftsmen. Discussion method is used as a medium ofcommunication with the training to take place resulting in a two-way communication between the presenters and artisans. The method used in the demonstration of an example in every training, thus providing facilities to the artisans in understanding the material presented. The method used to apply a hands-on materials that have been obtained, of course, with the guidance of presenters. Observation methods performed to observe the craftsmen skills both during the training and after the training. Observations after the training aimed to determine the impact of the training that has been conducted related to the progress of the productivity of the craftsmen. The results of this activity are: (1) has been assigned some appropriate technology equipment that is 2 units of portable drilling machine, 1 unit sanding machine and 1 unit compressor, (2) business management training can improve the ability of craftsmen in the fields of management, which is 70% craftsmen have acquired in the management of the business, (3) training using the Internet can enhance the ability of artisans to utilize the internet as a marketing medium, which is 40% craftsmen have the ability to use the Internet, (4) based on the results of the analysis of increased productivity, increased artisans revenues of approximately 30%Keywords: concept of integrated production processes, coconut shellcraftsmen

Abstract

Banana trees that are used as producers of natural dyes are plantains, thin skin bananas, and kapok bananas. The purpose of this study was to apply natural coloring agents from various types of banana stems such as Raja Banana, Kepok Banana, and Thin Skin Banana with various natural color pigments. Making natural dyes with stems banana and water solvent in a ratio of 1: 5. Color locking on a fabric with several fixators. Fixers used are alum (Al2 (SO4) 3), tunjung (FeSO4) and lime (CaCO3). Fabrics that have optimal fastness to washing with Gray Scale are fabrics with alum fixers and lime with grades 4-5 (Good). Fabrics that have color fastness to washing (Staining Scale) which are fabrics with alum fixers and chalk with a value of 5 (Very Good). Fabrics that have resistance to dry and wet rubbing are fabrics with alum fixers and lime with grades 4-5 (Good). Dyes on the plantain stems are sharper compared to the banana stems and thin skin banana stems, with reflectance values (R%) of 74.29.

Abstract

The utilization of coal in generating energy across the world is extremely popular due to its low cost. Otherwise, coal quality plays a significant role in other potential problems. Such an interaction between bed material and coal properties could lead to the formation of bed agglomeration, which melts in the CFB boiler of a power plant. The result shows that the majority of agglomeration samples were granular and dominated by round shapes, as observed visually. The EDX analysis shows that the three biggest elements in the agglomeration sample are oxygen, silica, and calcium. Meanwhile, XRD analysis reveals that the most reactive products were muscovite, albite, and dolomite compounds. They were composed of natrium in the range of 1.95–2.84%, silicon in the range of 20.2–21.16%, aluminium in the range of 13.05–15.46%, calcium in the range of 1.05–3.11%, and others. Therefore, several potential alternatives might be the best way to reduce the risk of agglomeration in a boiler. Including using additives like china clay and soils, especially those containing kaolin, and utilizing alternate bed materials. Another promising option to prevent this problem is to reduce the combustion temperature and replace bed material periodically.
