Abstract

The Guided Inquiry (GI) model has been extensively applied in science education to foster Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS), yet systematic evidence of its effectiveness across educational levels in Indonesia remains limited. This study conducted a narrative systematic literature review (SLR) of 20 studies (11 experimental/quasi-experimental, 4 meta-analyses, and 5 systematic reviews) published between 2019 and 2025, aiming to evaluate the effectiveness of GI in improving HOTS—critical thinking, creative thinking, and problem solving—as well as Science Process Skills (SPS) in Indonesian elementary, junior high, and senior high school science contexts. The review followed PRISMA guidelines and involved database searches in Portal Garuda, SINTA, Google Scholar, Scopus, ERIC, and Web of Science, using relevant keywords. Inclusion criteria required studies to focus on GI in science learning, report HOTS or SPS outcomes, and be published in reputable Indonesian or international journals. Study quality was assessed using adapted JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. Meta-analytic findings revealed very large effect sizes for critical thinking (g = 1.33), creative thinking (g = 1.10), and problem solving (g = 1.31), while experimental studies showed high-category SPS gains (N-Gain = 0.7) and improved scientific literacy. GI effectiveness was consistently high at the junior and senior high school levels (effect size 0.8–1.3), but varied at the elementary level (0.4–1.10), depending on scaffolding intensity and implementation duration. Integration with technology and STEM contexts led to superior outcomes. The review concludes that GI is highly effective in enhancing HOTS and SPS across levels, though effectiveness depends on adaptive scaffolding and learning conditions. Limitations include study heterogeneity and potential publication bias.

Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of project-based learning (PjBL) integrated with the STEAM approach (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) on students' critical thinking skills on static fluid material in grade XI of high school. The research employed a quasi-experiment with a two-group pretest–posttest control group design. The sample consisted of two classes, namely class XI MIA 2 (experimental group) and class X MIA 1 (control group), which were selected using a simple random sampling technique, with each class consisting of 36 students. The research instrument used was an essay test designed to assess students' critical thinking skills. The data were analysed using a t-test to determine the differences between groups. Pretest results indicated comparable initial critical thinking abilities between the experimental and control groups. However, following the implementation of STEAM-integrated PjBL, the experimental group demonstrated a significant improvement in post-test scores compared to the control group. This improvement was reflected in a higher percentage increase in critical thinking skills, indicating the positive impact of the integrated approach. The effectiveness of this intervention was further supported by a high score on the relative effectiveness test, emphasizing its value in enhancing critical thinking skills. These findings suggest that active, interdisciplinary learning strategies can effectively enhance students' analytical and problem-solving abilities, better preparing students for real-world challenges through deeper engagement and creative thinking.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh problem based learning (PBL) berbantuan website HTML 5 terhadap pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi energi terbarukan di kelas X. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Populasi penelitian seluruh siswa kelas X pada salah satu SMA Negeri di Binjai, Sumatera Utara berjumlah 7 kelas. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari dua kelas, yaitu kelas X-2 sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan PBL berbantuan website HTML 5 dan kelas X-1 sebagai kelas kontrol yang menggunakan PBL, masing-masing kelas terdiri dari 36 siswa. Teknik pengambilan sampel dilakukan secara simple random sampling. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes pemecahan masalah siswa yang sudah divalidasi. Adanya pengaruh PBL berbantuan website HTML 5 terhadap pemecahan masalah siswa dianalisis dengan uji-t dengan syarat data berdistribusi normal dan homogen, dan uji N-gain untuk mengetahui peningkatannya. Peningkatan N-gain pemecahan masalah siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 0,66 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 0,46, masing-masing kategori sedang. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan PBL berbantuan website HTML 5 berpengaruh secara signifikan dan meningkatkan pemecahan masalah siswa pada materi energi terbarukan.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to analyze the implementation, advantages, challenges, and impacts of E-Learning, Blended Learning, and Hybrid Learning models in physics education through a systematic literature review of nationally accredited journal articles published between 2016 and 2025. Methodology: The research employed a literature review method, drawing on 55 articles from nationally accredited journals published between 2016 and 2025. Sources were obtained from Garuda Kemdikbud, Sinta, university journal portals, and open repositories. The selection process applied inclusion–exclusion criteria, keyword-based searches, and classification according to learning models (E-Learning, Blended Learning, and Hybrid Learning) in the context of physics education. Main Findings: The results indicate that E-Learning enhances students’ independence, creativity, and conceptual understanding through digital platforms such as Moodle, Google Sites, and Chamilo. Blended Learning effectively reduces misconceptions and improves learning outcomes by combining face-to-face and online instruction. Meanwhile, Hybrid Learning provides the most optimal academic achievement by integrating synchronous and asynchronous learning. Nevertheless, all three models face challenges related to infrastructure limitations, teacher preparedness, and students’ digital literacy. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers a comprehensive comparative analysis of E-Learning, Blended Learning, and Hybrid Learning in physics education, which has not previously been systematically reviewed. It enriches the body of knowledge by synthesizing empirical evidence, highlighting the strengths, weaknesses, and integration potential of the three models, and providing valuable insights for educators and policymakers in adopting effective digital learning strategies.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat Pengaruh Model Problem Based Learning dengan Pendekatan Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics  terhadap Literasi Sains dan Kemampuan Berpikir Kritis Siswa pada Materi Sistem Ekskresi Manusia. Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol yang masing-masing berjumlah 30 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan terdiri dari instrumen tes literasi sains yang berbentuk pilihan ganda berjumlah 20 soal dan instrumen tes kemampuan berpikir keitis berbentuk essay berjumlah 6 soal. Sebelum diberi perlakuan berbeda terlebih dahulu dilakukan pretest pada kedua sampel, kemudian dilanjutkan pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL dengan pendekatan STEM di kelas eksperimen dan pembelajaran menggunakan model PBL di kelas kontrol pada materi sistem ekskresi manusia, kemudian dilakukan posttest pada kedua sampel. Data penelitian dianalisis dengan uji manova dan N-gain. Setelah dilakukan pengujian hipotesis terhadap data posttest kedua kelas diperoleh nilai siginifikan 0,000 0,05, sehingga dapat disimpulkan terdapat pengaruh model PBL dengan pendekatan STEM terhadap literasi sains dan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Peningkatan literasi sains siswa didapat 68% pada kategori sedang dan peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa sebesar 69% pada kategori sedang.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the significant effect of the argument driven inquiry (ADI)-STEM learning model on numeracy literacy and scientific argumentation skills of students on the subject matter of dynamic fluid class XI semester II at SMAN 10 Medan T.P 2024/2025. This type of research is a quasi experiment and the research design is a two-group pretest-posttest. The population in this research is the entire class XI of SMAN 10 Medan T.P 2024/2025. The sample in this study consisted of two classes selected randomly with simple random sampling technique, class XI IPA-1 as an experimental class using argument driven inqiry (ADI)-STEM learning model with a total of 36 students and class XI IPA-2 as a control class with conventional learning model with a total of 31 students. The instrument in this study was a test in the form of a 10 question essay. Data analysis was used with manova test. The results of the study were obtained with the average value of the numeracy literacy pretest of the experimental class and control class 53.89 and 54.19 respectively while the scientific argumentation of the experimental class and control class 52.22 and 51.68 respectively. The average post-test scores of numeracy literacy of experimental and control classes were 83.22 and 71.48 respectively while scientific argumentation of experimental and control classes were 86.78 and 70.90 respectively. Data analysis using manova test concluded that there is a significant effect of argument driven inquiry learning model on numeracy literacy and scientific argumentation

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan praktik pembelajaran fisika yang dilakukan guru di kelas dan menganalisis kesesuaiannya dengan langkah-langkah model ASSURE. Penelitian dilakukan di tingkat Sekolah Menengah Atas dengan metode kualitatif deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik wawancara mendalam dan observasi terhadap praktik mengajar guru yang dilakukan tanpa disadari mengikuti alur desain instruksional tertentu. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa meskipun guru tidak menyebutkan atau mengenal model pembelajaran ASSURE secara eksplisit, praktik mengajar mereka secara substansial telah mencerminkan keenam langkah model ASSURE (Analyze Learners, State Objectives, Select Methods, Utilize Media, Require Participation, Evaluate and Revise). Kendala yang dialami guru meliputi kurangnya waktu persiapan dan minimnya pelatihan formal terkait model pembelajaran inovatif, sedangkan manfaat yang dirasakan adalah proses pembelajaran yang lebih terstruktur dan peningkatan partisipasi aktif siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas penerapan model pembelajaran Guided discovery learning berbantuan web-based simulation dalam meningkatkan kemampuan literasi digital dan berpikir kritis peserta didik pada pembelajaran fisika. Penelitian dilakukan di SMAN 5 Kota Medan. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan adalah quasi experiment dengan pretest-posttest control group design. Sampel penelitian diaimbil dengan Teknik simple random sampling yang terdiri dari kelas XI MIPA 1 sebagai kelas kontrol dan kelas XI MIPA 4 sebagai kelas eksperimen. Intrumen yang digunakan yaitu tes kemampuan literasi digital dan tes kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan soal essai. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data diperoleh bahwa model guided discovery learning berbantuan web-simulation berpengaruh terhadap kemampuan literasi dan kemampuan berpikir kritis dengan nilai signifikansi <0,001 serta efektif dengan hasil n-gain score literasi digital dan kemampuan berpikir kritis berturut-turut 0,66 dan 0,71 dengan kategori sedang dan tinggi. Model pembelajaran guided discovery learning berbantuan web-based simulation tidak secara langsung berkontribusi pada peningkatan kemampuan literasi digital dan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik, ini dikarenakan hasil uji korelasi yang menunjukkan signifikan namun bertanda negative, yang artinya mungkin ada factor-faktor lain yang memungkinkan memiliki pengaruh yang lebih dominan dalam meningkatkan kedua kemampuan tersebut.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat pengaruh multimedia interaktif yang berbasis web google sites terhadap literasi digital dan hasil belajar fisika siswa pada materi Fluida Statis di kelas XI IPA SMA. Jenis penelitian ini quasi eksperimen. Populasi penelitian ini seluruh kelas XI IPA SMA Katolik Mariana Medan T.A 2023/2024 yang terdiri dari 2 kelas ( 56 orang) . Sampel penelitian ini terdiri dari 2 kelas yaitu kelas XI IPA-1 (kelas eksperimen) dan kelas XI IPA-2 (kelas kontrol) yang diambil dengan teknik sampling jenuh, masing – masing kelas berjumlah 28 orang. Instrumen tes yang digunakan berbentuk pilihan berganda yang masing – masing mengukur tes hasil belajar fisika siswa dan angket sebagai pengukur peningkatan literasi digital siswa. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dengan uji manova dan N-gain. Nilai rata – rata pretes hasil belajar kelas eksperimen sebesar 37,71 dan pada kelas kontrol 34,29. Nilai rata – rata pretes literasi digital kelas eksperimen sebesar 74,57 dan pada kelas kontrol 52,86. Nilai rata – rata postes hasil belajar fisika siswa pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 76,14 dan pada kelas kontrol 56,71. Nilai rata – rata literasi digital pada kelas eksperimen sebesar 93,14 dan pada kelas kontrol 67,25. Bedasarkan hasil penelitian diperoleh rata – rata postes kelas eksperimen lebih besar dibanding kelas kontrol. Hasil uji manova data postes menunjukkan adanya perbedaan yang signifikan yang berarti terdapat pengaruh multimedia interaktif berbasis web google sites terhadap literasi digital dan hasil belajar fisika siswa. Peningkatan N-gain literasi digital pada kelas eksperimen 0,72 (tinggi) dan N-gain hasil belajar fisika siswa pada kelas eksperimen 0,61 (sedang).
