Abstract

Mangrove ecosystem is one of kind forest that naturally influenced by tides. Mangrove root’s system have capability to hold and capture sediment transported by waves or currents which bring to sedimentation or soil formation arise and become the new land for mangrove vegetation. Tailings from the mining PT. Freeport Indonesia in Tembagapura cusher form of a smooth stone is passed through Aghawagon River, followed Otomona River and deposited in the Regional Deposition Ajkwa (DPA), the possibility of 5-10% of particles remaining Sand Mining (tailings) carried out the most subtle to the Estuary Ajkwa and the Arafura Sea (PT Freeport Indonesia, 1999). Sedimentation due to the flow of the remaining mine sand from the river and taken apart Ajkwa currents, thought to affect an area of mangrove forests that exist around the estuaries in the coastal Mimika. Aim of this study is determining the extent of vegetation change in Mimika coastal mangrove District, Papua during 1998 to 2010 using multitemporal satellite imagery. The study was conducted in November 2010 to May 2011 using 1998’s Landsat TM imagery, Landsat 7 ETM + in 2002, Landsat 7 ETM + in 2006, and Landsat 7 ETM+ 2010, by using descriptive method. The results of this study indicate changes in the extent of mangrove vegetation of the estuary area to Mawati Kamora is varied, ie, in the year 1998 to 2002 has improvement 250.64 ha and 234.91 ha of reduction, in the year 2002 to 2006 has improvement 131.82 ha and 193.37 ha of reduction, in the year 20006 to 2010 experienced a reduction of 175.94 ha and 89.28 ha. Supply of sediment input in the form of tailings or suspected influence on the addition of mangrove vegetation in the Mimika District coastal area of Papua, particularly in the area and Kamora Ajkwa River Estuary, while the reduction of mangrove vegetation in the Coastal area of Timika, Papua, probably caused from to hydrological factors of the currents and waves.

Abstract

Kawasan mangrove di Desa Pasar Banggi ditetapkan sebagai salah satu kawasan strategis dari sudut kepentingan fungsi dan daya dukung lingkungan hidup. Ekosistem mangrove di Desa Pasar Banggi merupakan salah satu yang terbaik di wilayah Pantura Jawa Tengah, sebelum dilakukan upaya rehabilitasi kondisi hutan mangrove di Desa Pasar Banggi mengalami kerusakan. Mengingat pentingnya fungsi hutan mangrove, maka sudah selayaknya dilakukan penanganan yang serius untuk mengurangi efek dari kerusakan ekosistem mangrove di Rembang ini. Salah satu alternative pemanfaatan yang memungkinkan untuk menjaga keutuhan ekosistem mangrove tersebut adalah melalui kegiatan ekowisata. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji potensi ekowisata mangrove di Pasar Banggi dan memberikan rekomendasi serta strategi pengembangan ekowisata di Pasar Banggi, Rembang. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif eksploratif. Metode pengumpulan data dengan menggunakan metode survei dalam bentuk data primer dan data sekunder. Data yang diperoleh dilakukan penentuan strategi pengembangan ekowisata mangrove dan analisis SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, dan Threat). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pengembangan ekowisata mangrove di Desa Pasar Banggi adalah keragaman jenis mangrove, kualitas SDM dalam menangani wisatawan, ketersediaan SDA berkualitas untuk ekowisata dalam upaya konservasi, kebijakan dari pemerintah daerah terkait peraturan serta perundang-undangan tentang ekowisata hutan mangrove di Desa Pasar Banggi, kondisi sosial-ekonomi masyarakat, serta infrastruktur pendukung. Menurut analisi SWOT yang menjadi prioritas utama adalah: a)  Peningkatan pengembangan ekowisata mangrove dalam bidang promosi program ekowisata dan penguatan institusi sebagai informasi ilmu pengetahuan ekosistem mangrove (Skor:4,52) dan b) Peningkatan partisipasi stakeholder terhadap pengembangan ekowisata mangrove yang berkelanjutan untuk peningkatan pelayanan terhadap pengunjung (Skor:3,29). The mangrove area in Pasar Banggi Village  is designated as one of the strategic region, as the point of importance of function and living environmental support. Mangrove ecosystem in Pasar Banggi Village is the best one area in Pantura, Central Java. Actually, Pasar Banggi Village’s condition was suffered damage before any efforts of rehabilitation of mangrove forest. Regarding the importance of the function of mangrove forests, there is a must doing a serious action to reduce the damage effects to the mangrove’s ecosystem in Rembang. One of the utilization alternative that can be used to maintain the integrity of the mangrove ecosystem is through ecotourism activities. The purpose of this research is examining the potential of ecotourism in Pasar Banggi Village and giving recommendation with ecotourism development strategy. Method which is used in this research is explorative descriptive.The collecting data method using survey method in form of primary data and secondary data. Then take the decision about the mangrove ecotourism development strategy and SWOT (Strength, Weakness, Opportunity, and Threat) analysis, after the data were obtained. The research results shows that the factors that affects the mangrove ecotourism development in Pasar Banggi Village is kind of types of mangroves, human resources’ quality while dealing with tourists or visitors, the availability of qualified nature resources for ecotourism, in effort of conservation, a policy of regional government related regulations and law about mangrove forest ecotourism in Pasar Banggi Village, community’s socio-economic conditions, also supporting infrastructure. According to the SWOT analysis, the top concerning priority are: a) mangrove ecotourism raising development in the field of ecotourism program promotion and institution strengthening as the mangrove ecosystem knowledge information (Score: 4.52) and b) Raising stakeholders’ participation toward the sustainable mangrove ecotourism development for improving service toward visitors (Score: 3.29)

Abstract

The condition of an ecosystem mangrove in the Pasar Banggi appertain one of the best in northern coast in central java. Management mangrove ecosystem there begin since the 1960s with conduct rehabilitation especially independently by the community. This condition, is perceived as a good condition and could be a good example to be applied in other areas. The purpose of this study is to know about the structure and composition of mangrove vegetation in Coastal Pasar Banggi Village, Rembang District. Vegetation data taking based on purposive sampling method and every transect made sampling plot. Each tree (plot 10 m x 10 m) and sapling (subplot 5 m x 5 m) identified and measured on diameter at breast height (± 1.3 m). Seedling calculated the amount of each species and the percentage of cover on subplot 1 m x 1 m. The result of research in Pasar Banggi Village was found 11 mangrove species. Generally, tree mangrove in Pasar Banggi Village have the range of density 100 ind/ha – 2533 ind/ha which dominated by Rhizophora mucronata. The Index of diversity (H’) and Eveness (J’) of mangrove vegetation in Coastal Pasar Banggi Village, Rembang District, were in low category.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Kawasan mangrove di pesisir Kecamatan Genuk Kota Semarang merupakan daerah dengan tingkat kegiatan manusia yang tinggi. Lahan ini banyak dikonversi menjadi lahan pemukiman, perindustrian dan tambak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui struktur dan komposisi gastropoda pada kawasan mangrove. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juli hingga September 2015. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif dan pengumpulan sampel menggunakan Sample Survey Method. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan pada 3 lokasi, masing-masing lokasi terdiri dari 3 transek yang berukuran 5m x 5m. Sampel yang diperoleh diawetkan dan diidentifikasi (FAO Volume 1, 1998). Hasil penelitian diperoleh 9 spesies gasropoda dari 5 famili yaitu Sphaerassiminea miniata (Assiminidae), Cassidula nucleus, C.aurisfelis (Ellobidae), Littorina melanostoma (Littorinidae), Neritina violacea (Neritidae), Telescopium telescopium, Cerithidea obtusa, Terebralia palustris dan Pleuroploca trapezium (Potamididae). Spesies yang dominan adalah C.nucleus dan C.aurisfelis. Rata-rata kelimpahan gastropoda di seluruh lokasi adalah 98 ind/25m² hingga 155 ind/25m². Indeks keanekaragaman (H’) sebesar 0,96 – 1,17 termasuk kedalam kategori rendah-sedang. Indeks keseragaman (e) sebesar 0,72-0,80 termasuk dalam kategori sedang-tinggi. Indeks dominasi (c) menunjukkan tidak adanya spesies yang mendominasi pada lokasi penelitian. Secara keseluruhan pola sebaran gastropoda menunjukkan sebaran yang mengelompok (Clummped). Dan nilai indeks kesamaan komunitas antar lokasi yaitu 54,5% hingga 75%, berkategori sedang-tinggi. ABSTRACT : The area of mangroves in the coastal Kecamatan Genuk are high levels of human activity. Mangrove area were converted to settlements, industry and aquaculture. The purpose of this research would to determine the implementation about the structure and composition of  gastropod community at mangrove area. This research was conducted during July to September 2015. The method of this reseach is descriptive method and the collection of samples using the Sample Survey Method. This reseach divided at 3 locations, sampling performed measuring 5 m x 5 m. The samples obtained were preserved and identified (FAO book Volume 1, 1998). Results of this reseach was found 9 gasropods from 5 families namely, Sphaerassiminea miniata (Assiminidae), Cassidula nucleus, C.aurisfelis (Ellobidae), Littorina melanostoma (Littorinidae), Neritina violacea (Neritidae), Telescopium telescopium, Cerithidea obtusa, Terebralia palustris and Pleuroploca trapezium(Potamididae). The most dominant species is C.nucleus and C.aurisfelis. The average gastropod abundance of all locations ranged between 98 ind/25 m² up to 155 ind/25 m². The index of diversity (H') ranging between 0.96 –1.17 including low-medium category. The uniformity index (E) ranges from 0.72-0.80 is included in the category of medium-high. Dominance index (c) indicates the absence of a dominant species this research. The pattern of distribution gastropods indicating a clumped distribution. While the index value similarity between Community research location ranged from 54.5% to 75%, medium-high categories.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang perubahan luasan mangrove dengan menggunakan Penginderaan Jauh di Desa Berahan Kulon dan Desa Berahan Wetan, Kecamatan Wedung, Demak telah dilaksanakan pada bulan Oktober 2013 sampai dengan bulan Desember 2013. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui perubahan luasan mangrove periode 1999-2013 dengan memanfaatkan data citra Landsat 7 ETM+ 1999; Landsat 7 ETM+2003; dan Landsat 8 ETM+ 2013. Pengamatan kondisi mangrove di lapangan dengan menggunakan metode plot kuadrat berukuran 10 m x 10 m dan pengolahan pada citra menggunakan analisis NDVI (Normalized Differencce Vegetation Index) dengan klasifikasi unsupervised. Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa selama rentang waktu 1999 - 2003 terjadi perubahan dengan perincian kerapatan jarang mengalami pertambahan luas semula 3,07ha menjadi 6,79ha; kerapatan sedang bertambah luas semula 16,48ha menjadi 36,37ha; dan kerapatan lebat penurunan luas semula 89,69ha menjadi 85,42 ha. Sementara itu, pemetaan kedua selama rentang tahun 2003 - 2013 terjadi perubahan dengan perincian data kerapatan jarang mengalami penurunan luas semula 6,79ha menjadi4,14ha; kerapatan sedang mengalami penurunan luas semula 36,37ha menjadi 30,24 ha; dan kerapatan lebat semula 85,42ha menjadi 75,06 ha. Komposisi vegetasi mangrove yang ditemukan pada lokasi penelitian diantaranya adalah Avicennia marina, Rhizophora mucronata dan Rhizophora stylosa

Abstract

Mangrove merupakan ekosistem daerah peralihan yang memiliki beberapa fungsi diantaranya ekologis, fisik maupun ekonomi. Kerusakan mangrove sering terjadi di beberapa daerah sehingga kelestarian mangrove sangat perlu dijaga. Salah satu upaya untuk mengurangi kerusakan tersebut dengan kegiatan rehabilitasi. Kegiatan rehabilitasi ini bertujuan untuk memulihkan kondisi mangrove seperti keadaan semula. Keberhasilan dari kegiatan rehabilitasi ini dapat dipantau dengan sistem penginderaan jauh menggunakan citra Satelit Landsat. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada bulan Juni- Juli 2018. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif bersifat eksploratif. Materi dalam penelitian ini adalah data citra satelit Landsat 5 untuk tahun 2008 dan Landsat 8 untuk tahun 2018. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian didapatkan nilai perubahan luasan hutan mangrove di Desa Kaliwlingi, Kecamatan Brebes dan Desa Sawojajar, Kecamatan Wanasari tahun 2008, 2013 dan 2018. Luas mangrove di Desa Kaliwlingi Kecamatan Brebes pada tahun 2008-2013 bertambah sebesar 101,25 ha yaitu 48,42 ha pada tahun 2008 dan 149,67 ha pada tahun 2013. Pada tahun 2013-2018 juga bertambah 184,23 ha yakni 333,9 ha pada tahun 2018. Pada Desa Sawojajar Kecamatan Wanasari, luas mangrove juga bertambah sebesar 0,09 ha yakni 24,39 ha pada tahun 2008 bertambah menjadi 24,48 ha pada tahun 2013. Tahun 2013-2018 juga bertambah sebesar 12,24 ha sehingga menjadi 36,72 ha di tahun 2018. Luas mangrove di Desa Kaliwlingi dan Sawojajar bertambah dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun.] Mangroves are transitional ecosystems that have several functions including ecological, physical and economic. Mangrove damage often occurs in several areas so that the preservation of mangroves is very important. One effort to reduce this damage is through rehabilitation activities. This rehabilitation activity aims to restore the condition of mangroves as they were before. The success of these rehabilitation activities can be monitored by remote sensing systems using Landsat Satellite imagery. This research was conducted in June-July 2018. This research method uses descriptive methods that are alternative. The material in this study is Landsat 5 satellite image data for 2008 and Landsat 8 for 2018. Based on the results of the study, the value of changes in a mangrove forests in Kaliwlingi Village, Brebes and Sawojajar Villages, Wanasari District in 2008, 2013 and 2018. The area of mangroves in Kaliwlingi Village, Brebes Subdistrict in 2008-2013 it increased by 101.25 ha, which was 48.42 ha in 2008 and 149.67 ha in 2013. In 2013-2018 it also increased by 184.23 ha, namely 333.9 ha in 2018. In Sawojajar Village, Wanasari Subdistrict, the area of mangroves also increased by 0.09 ha, which was 24.39 ha in 2008 which increased to 24.48 ha in 2013. 2013-2018 also increased by 12.24 ha to 36.72 ha in 2018. The area of mangrove in Kaliwlingi and Sawojajar villages has increased in ten years.

Abstract

ABSTRAK : Kegiatan rehabilitasi mangrove sudah sering dilakukan namun menghadapi beberapa masalah seperti penanaman kembali tanpa adanya monitoring dan evaluasi keberhasilan, kurangnya koordinasi antar lembaga yang terkait dan lemahnya partisipasi masyarakat. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui kondisi eksisting struktur dan komposisi vegetasi mangrove serta mengkaji kegiatan rehabilitasi mangrove di Desa Ketitang Wetan dan Desa Raci, Kecamatan Batangan Kabupaten Pati.Metode Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif eksploratif dengan analisa data struktur dan komposisi vegetasi mangrove dan presentasi peran masyarakat dan peran lembaga pemerintah/non pemerintah setempat. Pengambilan data vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode stratified random sampling dan setiap stasiun dibuat plot sampling. Setiap individu pohon (tree) (plot 10 m x 10 m) dan anakan (sapling) (subplot 5 m x 5 m) diidentifikasi dan diukur diameternya setinggi dada (±1,3 m). Sementara semai (seedling) dihitung jumlah masing-masing spesies dan persentase penutupannya (subplot 1 m x 1 m) untuk rehabilitasi dan pengumpulan data lain melalui wawancara dan kuisioner. Hasil penelitian di Desa Ketitang Wetan dan Desa Raci ditemukan 7 spesies mangrove yang didominasi spesies Avicennia marina di semua kategori. Secara umun kerapatan kategori pohon (tree) di Lokasi I berkisar 2767 ind/ha – 3267 ind/ha sementara di Lokasi II berkisar 3267 ind/ha – 3567 ind/ha. Kerapatan kategori anakan (sapling) di Lokasi I berkisar 2222 ind/ha – 3333 ind/ha sementara di Lokasi II berkisar 89 ind/ha – 6333 ind/ha. Kerapatan kategori semai (seedling) di Lokasi I berkisar 26.667 ind/ha – 140.000 ind/ha sementara di Lokasi II berkisar 23.333 ind/ha – 40.000 ind/ha. Peran masyarakat dan peran lembaga pemerintah/non pemerintah di Desa Raci lebih baik jika dibandingkan Desa Ketitang Wetan. Indeks Keanekaragaman (H’) dan Keseragaman (J’) mangrove Desa Ketitang Wetan dan Desa Raci, Kecamatan Batangan, Kabupaten Pati tidak dilakukan perhitungan, karena hanya ditemukan satu spesies yaitu Avicennia marina. ABSTRACT : Mangrove rehabilitation activities are often made but faced some problems such as reforestation in the absence of monitoring and evaluation of the succeed, the lack coordination between relevant institutions and weak community participation. The purpose of this study to determine the existing condition of mangrove vegetation structure and composition review the mangrove rehabilitation activities in Ketitang Wetan village and Raci village, Batangan District, Pati regency. The research method used is descriptive method with exploratory data analysis mangrove vegetation structure, composition and presentase the role of society and the role of government institution / non-local government. Vegetation data retrieval is done by stratified random sampling method and each station is made plot sampling. Each individual tree (tree) (plot 10 m x 10 m) and saplings (sapling) (subplot 5 m x 5 m) are identified and measured in diameter at breast height (± 1.3 m). While seedlings (seedling) calculated the amount of each species and the percentage of closure (subplots 1 m x 1 m) for rehabilitation and other data collection by interview and questionnaires. Research in Rural Ketileng Wetan village and Raci village discovered 7 species of mangrove species. Avicennia marina is dominated in all categories. In general, the density of the category tree in the location I ranged 2767 ind/ha - 3267 ind / ha while in location II ranges from 3267 ind/ha - 3567 ind/ha. Seedling density category sapling in the location I ranges from 2222-3333 ind/ha while in location II ranges from 89-6333 ind/ha. The density category seedlings in the location I ranges from 26.667-140.000 ind/ha while in location II ranges from 23.333–40.000 ind / ha. The role of society and the role of government agencies/non-government Raci village better than Ketitang Wetan village. Diversity Index (H') and uniformity (J') mangrove Ketitang Wetan village and Raci village in Batangan District. In Pati regency is not calculated, since only found one species (Avicennia marina).

Abstract

Komunitas mangrove menempati area diantara darat dan laut yang memiliki kondisi lingkungan berbeda satu sama lain. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengkaji struktur dan komposisi vegetasi mangrove di Tracking Mangrove Kemujan Kepulauan Karimunjawa. Penelitian di Tracking Mangrove Kemujan dilakukan di 8 stasiun yang dibagi menjadi 3 lokasi, yaitu Lokasi 1 dekat daratan (Stasiun 1 dan Stasiun 8), Lokasi 2 daerah peralihan (Stasiun 2, Stasiun 3, Stasiun 6 dan Stasiun 7)  dan Lokasi 3 dekat laut (Stasiun 4 dan Stasiun 5).Pengambilan data vegetasi dilakukan dengan metode purposive sampling dan setiap stasiun dibuat plot sampling. Setiap individu pohon (plot 10 m x 10 m) dan anakan (subplot 5 m x 5 m) diidentifikasi dan diukur diameternya setinggi dada (±1,3 m). Sementara semai dihitung jumlah masing-masing spesies dan persentase penutupannya (subplot 1 m x 1 m). Hasil penelitian di Tracking Mangrove Kemujan ditemukan 17 jenis mangrove.Secara umum vegetasi pohon mangrove di lokasi penelitian memiliki rata – rata kerapatan 2127 ind/ha yang didominansi Ceriops tagal. Kategori anakan memiliki rata – rata kerapatan 4499 ind/ha, dimana jenis Ceriops tagal mendominansi pada Stasiun 2, 3, 6, 7 dan 8, jenis Lumnitzera racemosa mendominansi pada Stasiun 1, jenis Rhizophora mucronata mendominansi pada Stasiun 4, dan jenis Rhizophora apiculata mendominansi Stasiun 5. Kategori semai, memiliki rata – rata kerapatan 128.333 ind/ha, dimana pada hampir semua stasiun didominansi oleh jenis Ceriops tagal, yang meliputi Stasiun 1, 2, 3, 7 dan 8, sedangkan pada Stasiun 4, 5 dan 6 didominansi oleh jenis Rhizophora stylosa dan Rhizophora apiculata. Abstract

northern coast of central java. The manage of ecosystem mangrove there started since 1960 with conduct rehabilitation especially independently by the community. The purpose of this research is to study the management of existing mangrove ecosystem conservation and composing the development strategy for conservation area mangrove ecosystem in the Pasar Banggi village. Methods used in this research is descriptive explorative. A method of collecting data by using a method of surveying in the form of primary and secondary data. Data obtained by the kinds of vegetation analyze and SWOT analyze (strength, weakness, opportunity and thread). The results stated that the density of the category tree is worth 2700-3100 ind/ha, Sapling 933-2533 ind/ha, in seedling 83333-100000 ind/ha. The parameters of water quality in the mangrove ecosystem Pasar Banggi suitable for mangrove habitat. The most suitable method of planting is seeds in a polybag. Problems in rehabilitation include biological factors (barnacles, gastropoda and algae), physical factors (wave, wind, sediment, reclamation) and anthropogenic factors (pollution, land conversion, hunting mangrove worms). The presence of community leaders and frequent counseling makes the level of public knowledge about the benefits of mangroves are good. The community participation levels 80%. Rehabilitation is the most common forms of community participation in the Pasar Banggi the rehabilitation are mostly that come from self-help by the community (57.08%) and government assistance or private (42.92%). According to the results of the SWOT analysis, which is a top priority at the Pasar Banggi are: a) Determination of the zone within the mangrove ecosystem conservation (score 4.52) and b) increase the participation of stakeholders on mangrove ecosystem conservation program (score 3.29).

Abstract

Mangrove forest is a tropical coastal communities is dominated by several species of trees or characteristic shrubs that has the ability to grow in salty waters. The study aim was to describe structure community of Polychaeta Macrobenthos in the village of Bedono, district of Sayung, Demak Regency (06055’44”S - 110029’42”E) and has been conducted between April 2010 to September 2010. The area, due to its position in the northern coast of Java, has influence by Java Sea especially its long-shore current which in past decades has been changing due to the Semarang Port development. Effort has been made by OISCA, a Japan environmentally concerned NGO, to rehabilitate the area by planting mangrove even though the result is just still uncertain yet. This research was aimed to know the stucture of polychaeta macrobenthos communities Bedono Village, District Sayung, Demak Regency. This research used descriptive eksplorative method and while for the intake of sampel polychaeta conducted quantitative just taken that is only pursuant to volume unit. In this research, the location was divided into 4 stations, each with three replication of sampling transects. Intake sample conducted at fairish plot 1m x 1m with the deepness 10 cm. The result found 6 famili polychaeta : Nereidae, Amphiromidae, Eunicidae, Capitellidae, Arenicolidae, dan Acoetydae. There tedency that vegetation of mangrove progressively make abundance polychaeta very much.
