Abstract

A flipped classroom is an innovative approach that focuses on student centered learning. It swaps the arrangement of knowledge different from traditional classroom. This study aims to describe the learning outcomes of SMP Negeri 1 Sewon students in which learned using Flipped Classroom Learning Model comparing to the Direct Learning Model, and to find out whether the flipped classroom learning model is effectively used in mathematics learning. This is quasi-experimental research. The research subjects were divided into 2 groups, namely the experimental group (using flipped classroom learning model) and control group (using direct learning model). The results showed that the flipped classroom learning model was more effective than direct learning model in terms of its self-regulated learning (SRL). It can seem from the results of statistic data analysis which shows a significant difference. So, it can be concluded that flipped classroom model can be used as an alternative learning in the classroom.

Abstract

Abstrak. Ethnomathematicss-based multy representation discourse is a learning model that emphasizes the use of multi-representation in a classroom setting using cultural relationships in the context of life that can improve students' mathematical communication skills and self-confidence. The purpose of the study was to find out how the influence of the Ethnomathematics based diskursus multy Representation model on students' mathematical communication skills and self-confidence. This study used a type of pretest-posttest control group design experiment. This research was carried out in the even semester of 2022 with samples of class VII B as the experimental class and VII A as the control class. Data collection techniques use tests and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques use t-test analysis, Effect Size, and questionnaire percentage. Based on the results of the study, it is known that the influence of the Ethnomathematics based diskursus multy Representation learning model on students' mathematical communication skills is very high and student self-confidence after being given the Ethnomathematics based diskursus multy Representation learning model is relatively high.

Abstract

Abstract. Students grow up with digital technologies so that they have new attitudes and learning styles for learning. Gamification enhances the involvement of students with the material and problems encountered. In this papper, we reflect on the design of gamification experience in mathematics learning using augmented reality for helping students understand and solve real world problems. We focus on designing applications for game-based learning and solving real-world problems for learning environments. This study uses Research and Development (R&D) with the ADDIE model (analyze, design, develop, implement, and evaluate). This study focuses in analyze, design, and develop step. The result of this study is the first feature of the application is facilitating the students to measure the real-world object using digital measuring tools, the second feature of the application is facilitating the student to explore real world problems that accompanied by a virtual pet through augmented reality then get credits points for solving the problems and use the point to upgrage the virtual pet . The limitation of this study is the application needed a special operating system to operate properly, the device needed AR Core embedded device. Our finding that designing gamefy application needed careful consideration of game features to enhance the students’ involvement and intentive in mathematics learning with excitement.

Abstract

Feeling anxious when learning mathematics or things involving mathematics known as math anxiety and problem solving is a process of activities that prioritize the importance of procedures, strategic steps that students take in solving problems, so as to eventually find answers to questions. The purpose of this study was to find out mathematical anxiety in mathematical problem solving. The research method used in this research is a narrative literature review. The result of this narrative literature review is that a person who has mathematical anxiety does not always lead to the failure in solving mathematical problems.

Abstract

Mathematical literacy and self-concept have become crucial topics in 21st century learning. So that learning innovation and the use of technology need to be carried out to support students' abilities to face the challenges of globalization. The purpose of this study is to describe students' mathematical literacy in terms of self-concept. This study uses a sequential explanatory design. The population in this study was class VIII of one of the junior high schools in Semarang Regency in the 2022/2023 academic year. Subjects in this study were selected using a purposive sampling method based on high, medium and low self-concept categories. Collecting data through test techniques, questionnaire techniques, interviews, and observation. The results showed that the mathematical literacy of students with high self-concept categories was better than students with moderate and low self-concept categories. Students with high self-concept are able to fulfill all indicators of mathematical literacy well; students with moderate self-concepts are able to master the three indicators of literacy but are still unable to apply mathematical concepts, facts, and procedures and represent answers in real-world contexts; students with low self-concept are only able to identify and represent problems mathematically while other indicators have not been fulfilled properly.
