Abstract

PT VT is a company engaged in the cement industry, particularly in the distribution of bulk cement through the Jetty Department. To enhance operational efficiency, PT. VT aims to forecast the volume of bulk cement for the upcoming period and determine the most effective forecasting method to utilize. This study will employ three forecasting methods: Moving Average (MA), Weighted Moving Average (WMA), and Single Exponential Smoothing (SES). Historical data on bulk cement volume over the past 11 months were analyzed, and the accuracy of the forecasts was evaluated using Mean Squared Error (MSE). The analysis results indicate that the Moving Average method produced an MSE of 678,038, the Weighted Moving Average yielded 587,301, and the Single Exponential Smoothing resulted in 493,586. Based on these findings, the Single Exponential Smoothing method is identified as the best forecasting method due to its lowest error rate compared to the other methods. By implementing this method, PT. VT can enhance forecasting accuracy, optimize distribution schedules, and minimize operational risks such as overstock or stock shortages. Consistent application of this method is expected to support supply chain sustainability and improve the company's overall operational efficiency. Abstract

This study aims to develop an environmentally friendly crystal salt packaging design using the House of Sustainability (HoS) approach at PT Baruna Energi Solusindo Teknik. The methods used include observation, questionnaire distribution, and literature study to identify consumer needs through Voice of Customer (VoC), as well as mapping sustainability attributes with Quality Function Deployment (QFD). The analysis showed that the use of HDPE plastic in packaging results in high carbon emissions and energy consumption. Based on VoC, the most prioritized attributes for consumers are environmental health, safety, and product price. The most influential technical responses in packaging design are the type of eco-friendly material, product durability, and pollution control. The proposed alternative packaging uses kraft paper material with a size of 33 cm × 33.5 cm and a transparent window to display the product contents. This design is considered to fulfill the overall technical, aesthetic, and sustainability aspects. In conclusion, the implementation of the House of Sustainability is effective in supporting environmentally friendly packaging design and strengthening green supply chain management in the company.

Abstract

PT XYZ is a coffee processing company with a production process involving five stages: sorting, drying, peeling, selecting, and packaging coffee beans. This study applies the Total Quality Control (TQC) approach to identify factors causing product defects. Methods include p-control charts to monitor quality variations statistically and fishbone diagrams to analyze root causes. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and company documents. The analysis revealed seven data points exceeding the upper control limit (UCL) and 11 below the lower control limit (LCL). Human errors, inadequate training, and machine-related issues were identified as the primary causes of defects. Environmental factors, such as inconsistent humidity levels, were also found to affect product quality. The findings provide actionable insights for PT XYZ to implement Kaizen-based improvements, focusing on minimizing defects, enhancing production quality, and maintaining product consistency. These measures are expected to support the company in achieving better control over quality processes and ensuring the stability of its coffee product standards.

Abstract

The rise of digitalization has driven companies to adopt the Dual Channel Supply Chain (DCSC) model to expand market reach and improve distribution efficiency. This study aims to evaluate pricing strategies based on the level of coordination between online, offline, and reseller channels to maximize company profit. The research applies mathematical modeling and numerical simulations across four pricing scenarios, each representing a different level of coordination among distribution channels. Model parameters were obtained from historical company data and customer preference surveys, and analyzed using MATLAB software. Simulation results show that Scenario 2, integrating coordination among online, external reseller, and offline channels, yields the highest financial performance, generating a total profit of IDR 456,955,350. This collaborative approach outperforms other scenarios by enabling synchronized pricing and promotions and expanding market coverage without requiring additional investment in distribution infrastructure. Further sensitivity analysis confirms that Scenario 2 remains the most robust across variations in key parameters such as unit cost, channel preference, and maximum demand. Therefore, a coordinated pricing strategy within the DCSC framework can serve as an adaptive and competitive solution for companies operating in multi-channel environments.

Abstract

Currently, environmental issues are largely connected to corporations that typically depend on complicated and extensive supply chains. At PT. TRAKINDO Surabaya, raw materials are housed in expansive storage facilities situated outside the city and at a considerable distance. This setup leads to significant carbon emissions from the vehicles used to transport these materials. PT. TRAKINDO Surabaya serves as an authorized distributor of heavy equipment from Caterpillar, a premier American manufacturer with a presence in industries such as mining, construction, oil and gas, forestry and agriculture, and power systems. In the industrial arena, global competition is intensifying as consumer demands escalate. Supply chain management can now be categorized into two kinds: conventional management, which primarily aims to raise value, and eco-friendly supply chain management. Consequently, a thorough analysis of different production facets is required, considering aspects like production, suppliers, and procurement. The GSCOR method is one such approach that can be adopted. This study introduces refreshing insights by offering recommendations to address challenges with suppliers, including delivery delays, constrained delivery capacity, price volatility of raw materials, and material quality concerns. These initiatives seek to enhance each supplier's efficiency at PT. TRAKINDO Surabaya and support the company in minimizing waste from production remains
