Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) are root symbionts that are in symbiosis with the majority of plants and are generally found in terrestrial ecosystems. The propagation of AMF is influenced by many factors, including fertilization. This study aims to determine the increase in arbuscular mycorrhizal spore production by administering Nasa LOF. The research was conducted at the Plastic House of the Indonesian Mycorrhizal Association, Southeast Sulawesi Branch and the Laboratory of the Forestry Department, Faculty of Forestry and Environmental Sciences, UHO in January - April 2023 using a factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with two factors, namely the first factor, the type of AMF including Glomus coronatum and Glomus claroideum and the second factor is Nasa LOF control, 2.5 ml/1000 ml water, 5 ml/1000 ml water. The results showed that the combination treatment of Glomus claroideum and administration of 5 ml Nasa LOF increased the number of spores in the 3rd month and spores after drying. Nasa LOF 5 ml is relatively applied for the production of Glomus claroideum.

Abstract

Temam Waterfall Tourism Park in Lubuklinggau, South Sumatra, has great potential as a tourist destination with natural beauty in the form of waterfalls and beautiful vegetation. However, there was a decrease in the number of visitors which had a negative impact on the income of local traders. To overcome this problem, initiatives have been carried out in the form of the establishment of an English-speaking market area and training for local traders. This program aims to improve the communication skills of traders in English, so as to better serve tourists and create a more satisfying tourist experience. The training includes communication skills, customer service, and more effective promotional strategies. In addition, this program also encourages environmental care and promotion of local crafts to increase tourist attractions. Activities are carried out through socialization, scheduled training, hands-on practice, and the application of technology to support continuous learning. Periodic mentoring and evaluation are carried out to ensure that the skills acquired are applied in daily practice. The results of this program show that the improvement of traders' communication skills has increased, they are able to serve sellers with simple English. Thus, after the traders can communicate in English, it is hoped that they can bring tourists to return for vacation at the Teem Waterfall Tourism Park.

Abstract

The inefficiency of conventional irrigation systems causes water waste and suboptimal plant growth, particularly in smallholder farming contexts in Indonesia. This study implements an IoT-based plant monitoring and irrigation automation system using the ESP32 microcontroller integrated with soil moisture sensors, LDR light sensors, DHT11 temperature/humidity sensors, and an ultrasonic water level sensor. The system transmits data via the Wi-Fi protocol to the Firebase Realtime Database cloud platform and is displayed through an Android mobile application with automated push notification alerts. The research method used is Research and Development (R&D) with a prototyping approach, tested on tomato plants in a greenhouse for 12 weeks. Results show the system achieves a data transmission success rate of 97.3%, average sensor reading latency of 1.8 seconds, and soil moisture measurement accuracy of 96.1% compared to a standard tensiometer. Irrigation automation reduces water usage by 31.4% while increasing plant growth rate by 27.6% compared to manual irrigation. The system's novelty lies in the adaptive threshold mechanism that automatically adjusts optimal soil moisture parameters based on plant growth phase, without requiring manual reconfiguration by the user.

Abstract

Precision agriculture is a modern approach that leverages digital technologies to enhance efficiency, productivity, and sustainability in crop cultivation. Advances in sensor technologies, monitoring systems, and automation have enabled real-time data collection, land condition analysis, and precise input management. The background of this study stems from the increasing demand for more efficient and climate-adaptive agricultural practices, while reducing excessive resource use. The objective of this study is to review recent literature on the implementation of sensor technologies, monitoring systems, and automation in the digitalization of precision agriculture. The method employed is a systematic literature review, analyzing scientific publications, peer-reviewed articles, and technical reports from recent years to identify trends, applications, and challenges faced in precision agriculture practices. The review findings indicate that soil and crop sensors, IoT-based monitoring systems, and automation devices such as smart irrigation and crop-monitoring drones significantly enhance the accuracy of agricultural decision-making. These technologies support efficient nutrient management, pest control, and irrigation, while enabling more precise yield predictions. However, technology adoption still faces challenges such as high implementation costs, limited digital infrastructure, and the need for technical skills among farmers. In conclusion, the digitalization of precision agriculture through the integration of sensors, monitoring, and automation offers substantial potential to improve agricultural production efficiency. Adaptive implementation strategies and technical training support are key to successful technology adoption in the field.
