Abstract

Background: Nausea and vomiting in early pregnancy is something that is normal for all pregnant women to experience as long as the intensity is not excessive. This has an impact on pregnant women and also the fetus, causing fluid, nutrition and weight loss. Purpose: The aim of this study was to determine the effect of consuming Kepok bananas (Musa Paradisiaca Formatypica) on reducing the intensity of nausea and vomiting in women in first trimester gravida. Methods: This study used a pre-experiment design with one group pre-post test in which pregnant women were given boiled kepok bananas for 40 minutes 3 times a day for 7 days. The population in this study was pregnant women in the first trimester who experienced nausea and vomiting. The sample size was 36 respondents. . The sampling technique uses random sampling. The independent variable is consumption of kepok bananas while the dependent variable is intensity of nausea and vomiting. This research uses a questionnaire with Wilcoxon test data analysis Result: The results of the research showed that before being given Kepok bananas, the majority (75.0%) experienced moderate nausea and vomiting, as many as 27 respondents. After being given Banana Kepok, most of the 18 respondents (50.0%) did not experience nausea and vomiting. Based on the results of statistical tests, it is known that the p value is 0.000. Because the value of 0.000 is smaller than <0.05, it can be concluded that the "hypothesis is accepted" that there is an effect of giving Kepok bananas (Musa Paradisiaca F) on the intensity of nausea and vomiting in Gravida mothers in the first trimester. Conclusion: Boiled kepok bananas have the highest vitamin B6 content, namely kepok bananas that are boiled for 40 minutes with vitamin levels (0.3646), so that vitamin B6 levels will reduce the intensity of nausea and vomiting.

Abstract

Background: Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (T2DM) is the most common type of diabetes, accounting for approximately 90% of all diabetes cases. It is characterized by insulin resistance, where the body fails to adequately respond to insulin. Complications can include macrovascular and microvascular damage, as well as diabetic neuropathy, which can occur in both newly diagnosed and long-standing patients. Purpose: This study aims to explain the influence of digital-based education and counseling on self-care behaviors in patients with T2DM as a prevention strategy for neuropathy complications. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest posttest design, where the pretest was implemented before treatment digital education and counseling, the posttest was implemented after treatment digital education and counseling. the posttest was implemented after treatment digital education and counseling. This study was conducted with pretest observation before education on self-care for patients with T2DM was implemented. Results: The study population consisted of 194 patients with T2DM in the Lawawoi Community Health Center area, from which 32 respondents were selected via purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires The Summary of Diabetes Self Care Activities (SDSCA) Reliabilitas: Cronbach’s alpha antara 0.62 – 0.91 Validated by experts with a score of CVI (Content Validity Index) > 0.80, Level of knowledge validated by experts, CVI > 0.80. Reliabilitas: Cronbach’s alpha berkisar antara 0.70 – 0.85, shows good internal consistency, and analyzed using paired t-tests and independent samples t-tests. Conclusion: The findings revealed that the digital education group’s knowledge obtained a sig. (2 tailed) value on the pretest and posttest of 0.000 <0.05, the digital education group’s skills obtained a sig. (2 tailed) value on the pretest and posttest of 0.000 <0.05, the counseling group’s knowledge obtained a sig. (2 tailed) value on the pretest and posttest of 0.000 <0.05, while the counseling group’s skills obtained a sig. (2 tailed) value on the pretest and posttest of 0.000 <0.05. There is a significant influence of digital-based education and counseling on the knowledge and skills of patients with T2DM.

Method: Employing a Pre-Test Post-Test Control Group design, participants were divided into control and intervention groups. The intervention group received health education utilizing the BSE technique combined with blended learning, while the control group did not undergo this intervention. Results: Results indicated substantial improvements in the affective, psychomotor, and cognitive domains among young women who received health education with blended learning. Positive attitudes towards BSE increased significantly, with average scores rising from 75.1 to 85.3 post-intervention. Similarly, psychomotor skills improved, evidenced by scores escalating from 72.4 to 84.5 after receiving education. Moreover, cognitive understanding saw a remarkable enhancement, with average scores soaring from 67.3 to 87.6 following the intervention. Conclusion: The study concludes that integrating blended learning with health education significantly enhances young women's psychomotor, affective, and cognitive responses to BSE. These findings underscore the efficacy of blended learning in augmenting the impact of health education, particularly in empowering young women with essential knowledge and skills for breast cancer prevention and early detection.

Abstract

Background: Preeclampsia is one of the complications of pregnancy with the highest morbidity and mortality rates. This condition often triggers women with preeclampsia who must undergo conservative therapy to feel stressed, anxious, and traumatized. This will make the coping mechanisms of mothers with preeclampsia become maladaptive. Objective: This study aims to examine the effectiveness of mind intervention (consist of guided imagery and progressive muscle relaxation) for improving the coping mechanisms of mothers with preeclampsia. Methods: A quasi-experimental study with pre and post-test was perform among 60 ofpreeclampsia mother (30 of control and 30 of intervention groups). The control groups were given standard therapy, while the intervention groups were given standard therapy and three sessions of mind intervention. Data on coping mechanisms were measured and analyzed using Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney test to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention. Results: The results showed that before the intervention, there was no significant difference in coping mechanisms between the control (Mean±SD: 76,93±19,285) and treatment groups (Mean±SD: 75,47±19,541). However, after the intervention, a significant difference was observed, with the control group scoring (Mean±SD: 79,93±19,285) and the treatment group scoring (Mean±SD: 92,47±19,541), and a p-value = 0.035. Conclusion: Mind’s intervention is effective for improving the coping mechanisms of preeclampsia mothers. Therefore, it can be recommended as a complementary nursing care approach to enhance psychological resilience and promote better outcomes in managing preeclampsia.
