Abstract

Introduction: Postpartum psychiatric disorders, particularly postpartum depression, are one of the most common psychological complications affecting maternal and neonatal well-being. These conditions are often underdiagnosed and undertreated, particularly in developing countries. Identifying risk factors is crucial for prevention and early detection. Objective: This systematic review aims to identify and analyze risk factors contributing to postpartum psychiatric disorders based on scientific evidence from 2015 to 2025. Methods: A literature search was conducted through PubMed, Scopus, ScienceDirect, and Web of Science databases using the keywords “postpartum depression,” “psychiatric disorder,” and “risk factors.” Included articles were observational human studies, written in English or Indonesian, reporting risk factors and postpartum psychiatric outcomes. Of the 1,026 articles screened, nine studies met the inclusion criteria. Results: The most consistent risk factors found included a history of previous psychiatric disorders, low social support, perinatal stress, low economic status, obstetric complications, and postpartum immunological dysregulation. Eight of the nine studies showed a significant association (p < 0.05). Conclusion: Postpartum psychiatric disorders are multifactorial, influenced by biological, psychological, and social factors. Preventive efforts should focus on antenatal screening, strengthening social support, and monitoring the mother's mental state after delivery.

Abstract

Hospitalization is a process that requires a person to be hospitalized for treatment, until they are allowed to go home. This process often causes stress and anxiety, especially for children, because they have to adapt to a foreign environment, be separated from their families, and undergo medical treatment. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of bibliotherapy with picture story books on reducing children's anxiety levels in the Lily Room of Anwar Medika Hospital, Sidoarjo. The research design used a Quasi-experiment with a one-group pre-test–post-test design. The population in this study were all children treated in the Lily Room of Anwar Medika Hospital. The sample was taken using an accidental sampling technique, obtaining 37 respondents. The research instrument used a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test. The results of the Wilcoxon test obtained a p-value of 0.000 <0.05, which means there is an effect of bibliotherapy with picture story books on reducing the level of hospitalization anxiety in children in the Lily Room of Anwar Medika Hospital, Sidoarjo. Bibliotherapy with picture books is highly effective in reducing anxiety in children because the text and illustrations in books are engaging and provide a distraction that can reduce anxiety.

Abstract

Background: This study addresses the public health issue of community hygiene and wellness by focusing on the Clean and Healthy Lifestyle Behavior (CHLB) as a key parameter. The subject of the assessment is the community of Sompok Hamlet, Bantul, with the purpose of evaluating the implementation of CHLB within households to understand areas of strength and needed improvement. Purpose of the Study: The purpose is to assess the level of CHLB implementation in Sompok Hamlet. The objective is to measure household compliance across various CHLB indicators and identify specific behavioral gaps that require targeted intervention. Methods: The study employed a cross-sectional survey design conducted in 2023. Data were collected from 202 households across seven neighborhood units (RT) using a structured questionnaire to evaluate compliance with standard CHLB indicators. Results: The results showed that 68.3% of households met the criteria for independent healthy communities. High compliance was observed in indicators like access to clean water, sanitation, exclusive breastfeeding, and toddler weighing. However, significant gaps were identified in physical activity (71.3% low compliance) and indoor smoking practices (64% low compliance). Practices related to fruit/vegetable consumption, handwashing, and larva elimination showed varied results. The findings highlight the need for focused educational programs to address these specific behavioral deficiencies to promote sustainable community health.
