This study aims to determine the increased ability of mathematical generalization and self-confidence of students junior hight school with Methaporical Thinking approach. The research method used is an experimental method involving 2 classes, namely experimental class and control class. The sample of this study was chosen randomly with the number of samples were 30 students of class XII at SMP RAHAYU. And elected class 7-1 as experimental class and class 7-2 as control class. In each data collection each student will be given the same pretest and postes. Intrument used is a test of mathematical generalization ability and scale of confidence. From the calculation and hypothesis test, it can be concluded that the improvement of mathematical generalization ability of the experimental class is significantly better than the control class, then most of the students who get the learning with methaporical thinking had better self confidence than ordinary learning.

This study aims to determine the ability of students mathematical communication skills of junior high school students in the material of One Variable Linear Equation and Inequality. The study was conducted on seventh grade students in one of the junior high schools in Cimahi as many as 37 students who were taken 6 random samples based on the results of the location of errors done by students in different criteria according to Watson's error. The research approach used is qualitative with descriptive method. The instrument used is a matter of mathematical communication that has been validated. Tests carried out by students were examined for the type of error based on the Watson category and an analysis of error answers was carried out. The results showed that based on the percentage of the types of errors students who had completed mathematical communication problems based on the category of errors according to Watson were incorrect data / ID errors included in a small error of 21%, improper procedure errors IP) is included in a high error of 46%. Omitted conclusions (OC) fall into a fairly low error of 3%. Errors in data missing (ommited data / OD) which is equal to 21%, Error hierarchical problem (SHP) problem is 7%. While conflict response levels (response level conflict / RLC), indirect manipulation (UM), and also errors other than the seven above other / AO) are 0% each, including very low errors.

This study aims to examine and analyze the contextual approach to improve the communication skills of junior high school students. Population in this research is a student of class VIII SMP in Karawang. This classroom action research is planned to consist of 2 (two) cycles based on the syllabus of the teaching of mathematics teacher of class VIII. Each cycle is implemented in accordance with the changes to be achieved. Prior to the action, the first test is given with the intention to know the initial ability of students and related to the topic taught that is SPLDV. Based on the results and discuss the students' understanding ability has increased.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and describe the ability of mathematical connections in terms of self efficacy in Triangle and Segiempat material which is guided by the mathematical connection and self efficacy indicators. This research method is descriptive research by using qualitative approach. This research was conducted in SMP Negeri in Kabupaten Bandung. The subject of this research is the students of class VIII consisting of 20 students. The instrument used in this research is a matter of mathematical connection test, non test in the form of Self efficacy questionnaire, and interview. Based on the conclusions from the results of research and discussion in general can be concluded that the ability of mathematical connections in terms of self efficacy of junior high school students is the difference in the ability of mathematical connections at each level of student self efficacy. The ability of mathematical connections in review of the student's self efficacy indicator that is not met is to apply mathematics in other fields or in everyday life, to understand the equivalent representation of a mathematical concept or procedure, to seek the relationship of various representations of concepts, processes, or mathematical procedures, procedures with other procedures in the equivalent representation. Then for the Student Self Efficacy, in completing each statement given the average student replied that students are afraid of being wrong to work on the problem, and students feel unsure that the student can do the questions given

This study aims to analyze and examine in depth about the ability of mathematical reasoning that is influenced by self-esteem of MTs students. The method in this research using correlational method with quantitative approach. The population in this study were students of MTs in Kota Cimahi and the samples were 20 people determined by purposive sampling technique in one of MTs in Cimahi City. Instrument in this research is test of critical thinking ability of mathematic as much as 5 item and scale of student self confidence as 30 scale statement. The results of this study concluded that the mathematical reasoning ability of students of MTs is positively influenced by their self-esteem of 52.5%, while 47.5% is influenced by factors other than self-esteem students

The aim of this research is to know the difficulties of reasoning ability include: (1) ability to give explanation related to Triangle and Segiempat using model, fact, nature, and relationship, (2) student ability to estimate answer and solution process of question given, (3) ) the ability of students to use patterns and relationships to analyze problems in Triangle and Quadrilateral, (4) ability to draw conclusions from every problem that exist both orally and in writing. The method used in this study by using qualitative methods. Population taken in this research is a student of SMP Negeri 1 Ngamprah class VII. Based on the research result, the average score of students' mathematical reasoning ability on triangle and quadrilateral material is 47%. Students who are able to determine the area and circumference of the flat wake tested in the solution of mathematical reasoning is 35%. While the number of students who are able to calculate the pattern n as much as 20%. Based on the data, it is concluded that there are students 'reasoning difficulties and students' mathematical reasoning ability at SMPN 1 Ngamprah is still low.

This study aims to examine and analyze about problem based learning approach to improve understanding ability in senior high school . The population in this research is XI IPA grade senior high school in Karawang. This study was designed qualitative descriptive method. Based on the results and discussion students understanding ability had improved. Based on the results of the analysis and discussion, it can be concluded that students' mathematical understanding on the subject matter "circle" of students in grade XI IPA 3 SMAN 6 Karawang can be improved by using problem-based learning approach. It is known from the number of students who experience improvement in each cycle. In cycle I shows that the result of learning mathematics on the matter of classical equation of the circle score obtained by students from the questions given in the first cycle test, obtained 30 students reached 66.67% of 45 students who are able to get the value of 76 and above while in cycle II shows that the results of mathematics learning on the material of tangent tangent similarity has reached 91.12% or as many as 41 students.Â

Kemampuan pemahaman matematik merupakan tujuan penting dalam pembelajaran. kemampuan pemahaman matematik memberikan pengertian bahwa materi-materi yang diajarkan kepada siswa bukan hanya sebagai hafalan. Siswa yang memiliki pemahaman matematik memiliki fondasi atau dasar yang lebih kokoh dalam belajar matematika. Pada artikel ini kemampuan pemahaman matematik siswa SMP dianalisis pada materi segitiga dan segiempat. Materi segitiga dan segiempat adalah salah satu materi pembelajaran siswa SMP kelas VII semester genap. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah kualitatif deskriptif, dengan subjek terbatas yaitu sembilan orang siswa SMP kelas VIII di salah satu SMP Kabupaten Bandung Barat, dengan klasifikasi siswa kemampuan tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman matematik sebanyak tujuh soal dan pedoman wawancara. Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan pemahaman matematik yang dimiliki siswa SMP di Kabupaten Bandung Barat berdasarkan pada tes tulis dan hasil wawancara dengan siswa yang masih tergolong rendah.

The purpose of this researchis to improve mathematical communication ability of the students in class VIII A in two variabels equation system by using Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach at SMPN 2 Cariu. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (CAR) by using spiral research model from Kemmis and McTaggart with the sample of this research is all students of class VIII A SMPN 2 Cariu. This research consists of two cycles where each cycle consists of planning, implementation, observation and replection, which is before and after this research is given the instruments in the essay from in each cycle, there is an observation sheet of the teacher and students activity during in the learning progress. The result of this research is to indicate the students mathematical communication aibility can be improve through the application of the Realistic Mathematic Education (RME) approach.

SMA/SMK was the last high school before going to College. High school students/CMS are at the stages of adolescent age. The World Health Organization (1974) set the age limit of 10-20 years as a teenage limit (Sarwono,2008). Based on a review of the theory of progression, the age of adolescence is a time of onset of rapid changes, such as physical changes, changes in fundamental aspects of cognitive, emotion, social and achievement. Teens experiencing instability from time to time and they try to adopt new behavior from the previous development phases (Soetjiningsih,2004). Teens often have problems because of her unstable and still has not been formed in cooked. The attitude of the labile affected the level of confidence, such as the fearless try and there are times when his minder with her own.
