Abstract

Equations are often used in mathematics and other subjects, which means that a media can teach students how to solve equations, particularly linear equations of two variables, or Sistem Persamaan Linear Dua Variabel (SPLDV) as it is called in Indonesian, is needed. However, most teachers are still focused on developing the learning process and teaching materials rather than developing an application technology-based learning media. As we know that technology-based learning is currently the focus of teaching and learning activities in the digital era, especially learning after the pandemic. This study aimed to develop an application that can be a reference for teaching media in learning activities to improve students’ mathematical understanding and ability. The developed application is named, Integrated and Convenient Android-based Simulation or Simulasi Android Terpadu dan Nyaman, abbreviated as SANTUY. This development study with Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) model, explained in detail in the paper, took seventy-five subjects consisting of six expert validators, nine users, and sixty students. The expert validators comprised three media experts and three material experts. The evaluation stage involved students from two groups, each consisting of thirty students. The results showed that the average percentage of the feasibility of the SANTUY SPLDV solution simulation-assisted application with differential learning nuance was 79.62%, which means the application is adequate. The level of usefulness of the SANTUY SPLDV solution simulation-assisted application with differential learning nuance was 86.11%, which is categorized as “excellent”. In addition, using the SANTUY SPLDV application had a direct positive influence on improving students’ mathematical understanding and ability.

Abstract

Conceptual understanding is a critical component of effective mathematics learning. However, many students encounter challenges in understanding mathematical concepts, including the concept of the mean. This study aims to design a learning trajectory that enhances students’ conceptual understanding of the mean. Employing a design research methodology, the study followed the stages of validation studies in creating and refining a hypothetical learning trajectory (HLT). The research consisted of three stages: preliminary design, design experiment (encompassing pilot experiment and teaching experiment), and retrospective analysis. The participants were fourty eighth-grade students from a public school in Cimahi. Data were collected through interviews, observations, documentation, and field notes, which informed iterative improvement to the HLT. Data analysis involved comparing students’ actual learning experiences with the HLT as a reference framework. The findings reveal that integrating technology and problem-based learning enhances students’ conceptual understanding of the mean, fostering creativity and real-world problem-solving skills. Based on these results, this study proposes a validated learning trajectory to support students in developing a deeper conceptual understanding of the mean.

Abstract

GeoGebra is a popular dynamic geometry software that is used by many teachers and students throughout the globe to understand mathematical concepts better. Its versatility to be used online and offline has opened up a new horizon in multiple learning environments in the mathematics education field. Whether it is blended, online, or even in a traditional learning environment, a literature study regarding its benefits and challenges is still relatively rare. This study follows a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) by utilizing PRISMA's meta-synthesis formulation to identify the benefits and challenges of the application of GeoGebra in different learning environments, which initially identify 527 literature and through a deep screening inclusion and exclusion criteria, a result of matching 33 literature studies has selected and shown that the most mentioned benefits of GeoGebra in multiple learning environment are its capabilities to improve mathematical concept understanding, while the most mentioned challenges itself is showing a requirement for supplementary module to assist GeoGebra implementation. These findings are crucial for teachers or educational institutions to set up a better learning component, media, or tools before integrating GeoGebra into the learning process.

Abstract

This research is a merged descriptive and quasi-experiment research aimed to describe students’ creativity in developing interactive learning media with Visual Basic Application for Excel. Besides that, it had done to review students’ ability which learning used open-ended Visual Basic Application for Excel compared with the other students’ which learning used the expository method with Visual Basic Application for Excel based. The subject contained 35 students in experiment class and 33 students in the control class, where the creativity of their learning media is reviewed and is analysed using SPSS. The research result shows that: (1) Students’ creativity in creating interactive learning media that the learning used open-ended Visual Basic Application for Excel based is better than the one with expository method of Visual Basic Application for Excel found; (2) Students creativity in creating interactive learning media is the combination of their mastery towards school level mathematics and the ability in applying Visual Basic Application for Excel.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengangkat permasalahan tentang : dengan judul “Metode Pembelajaran Bermain Kartu Kata Dalam Meningkatkan kecerdasan kognitif di TK TRIDAYA CIMAHI “.Tujuan yang ingin dicapai melalui penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan : (1) Untuk mengetahui data tentang pelaksanaan penggunaan media kartu kata melalui anak TK untuk meningkatkan pengembangan kecerdasan kognitif (2) Hasil penggunaan media kartu kata dan pengaruhnya terhadap anak TK (3) Pendorong dan penghambat  penggunaan media kartu kata dalam upaya peningkatan  pengembangan kecerdasan kognitif bagi anak di Taman Kanak-Kanak. Metode Penelitian yang di gunakan Penelitian kualitatif dengan pertimbangan bahwa subjek riset adalah Siswa Taman Kanak-Kanak Tridaya pengumpulan data yang hanya bisa didekati dengan pendekatan pengamatan dan tidak bisa menggunakan instrument baku yang disusun sebelumnya sehingga peneliti berpindah sebagai instrument.Teknik yang digunakan melalui penggunaan observasi dan wawancara dikarenakan banyak orang yang lebih suka berbicara daripada menulis untuk memberikan respon terhadap pernyataan tertentu, apalagi anak-anak (Best, J.W., Khan, J.V. 2003:323). Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa 1) Berdasarkan hasil observasi metode pembelajaran yang digunakan sesuai dengan situasi dan kondisi anak yaitu menggunakan media kartu gambar sebagai upaya peningkatan kecerdasan kognitif dan pelaksanaannya sangat diminati anak. 2) Berdasarkan hasil observasi dengan menggunakan media kartu gambar pada upaya peningkatan kecerdasan kognitif sangat besar pengaruhnya terhadap anak, dengan media kartu gambar berpengaruh positif anak lebih termotivasi dalam pembelajaran konsep huruf. 3) Berdasarkan Observasi ditemukan kesulitan pada faktor pendorong dan pendukung dalam penggunaan media kartu gambar adalah sarana dan prasarana serta seperti penataan ruangan yang kurang menarik serta cara tutor dalam memimpin kegiatan sehingga anak kurang berminat dalam pembelajaran. Dari  penjelasan di atas, dapat  disimpulkan bahwa upaya  kecerdasan kognitif melalui media kartu kata. Anak dapat meniru apa yang telah ditunjukkan dan dilakukan oleh tutor. Agar anak dapat meniru semua kegiatan yang dilakukan oleh tutor, tutor harus mengatur media kartu kata dalam menjelaskan kegiatannya. Media kartu kata sangat berpengaruh pada konsentrasi anak. Media kartu kata membuat anak tertarik untuk mengikuti pembelajaran, anak akan menjadi lebih antusias mengikuti pembelajaran.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini bertujuan untuk membantu guru di sekolah dasar dalam membangun hubungan orang tua dan anak sebagai bentuk kerjasama antara orang tua dan guru melalui media “kartu bintang” dalam meningkatkan kualitas hubungan orang tua dan anak. Dalam pelatihan ini, metode yang digunakan yaitu metode ceramah untuk memberikan penjelasan tentang media “kartu bintang”, metode yang kedua yaitu tanya jawab sebagai wadah untuk sharing dan berbagi ilmu serta pengalaman seputar cara meningkatkan kualitas hubungan orang tua dan anak di rumah, dan yang terakhir yaitu mengadakan sosialisai dan pelatihan tentang cara penggunaan media “kartu bintang”. Sebagai mitra dalam kegiatan ini adalah Dinas Pendidikan Kabupaten Purwakarta. Dengan target luaran yakni guru di sekolah dasar khususnya wali kelas mampu membuat program bimbingan dan konseling berupa kegiatan kegiatan yang menggunakan media kreatif sebagai salah satu bentuk menjaga dan meningkatkan kualitas hubungan orang tua dan anak. Dan juga dari kegiatan ini diharapkan siswa dapat mengembangkan potensi dirinya kearah yang lebih positif. Hubungan orang tua dan anak dapat lebih dekat dengan adanya kegiatan sederhana yang dilakukan setiap harinya.Kata Kunci: Media Kartu Bintang, Kualitas Hubungan, Orang Tua dan Anak

Abstract

Emotional intelligence is an individual's ability to manage emotional problems with the intelligence they have and can maintain the expression of their emotions well. Individuals who are emotionally intelligent can be seen from how these individuals understand their emotions, are able to manage their emotions well, are able to motivate themselves, are sensitive to others and can build good relationships with others. The purpose of this study was to test the effectiveness of group counseling services using role playing techniques in increasing the emotional intelligence of class XI students at SMAN 5 Cimahi. This study uses a quantitative approach. The research method used was a quasi-experimental non-equivalent control group design in the experimental group and the control group. Data was collected using an emotional intelligence questionnaire referring to Goleman's theory. The sample for this research was students of class XI at SMAN 5 Cimahi who were selected through a random sampling technique. The data was then analyzed using the N-gain score and obtained an average score of 71.3% in the experimental group which was in the "Quite Effective" category and in the control group obtained an average value of 1.4% and was in the "Not Effective" category. Effective". This study concluded that group guidance using role playing techniques had a positive and quite effective effect on increasing emotional intelligence in class XI students at SMAN 5 Cimahi.

Abstract

Self-confidence means having confidence in one's own ability to act without depending on others, being optimistic, taking responsibility for one's actions, being polite in interacting with others, and realizing one's own strengths and weaknesses. Group guidance provides many benefits for students because they are indirectly actively involved in interactions with other group members. Modeling technique is a technique used to change a person's behavior, cognitive, and affective through the process of observation followed by the process of imitating the behavior of the model displayed. This research method is an experimental method with one group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were VIII grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Parongpong, totaling 82 students with 10 subjects. Sampling using purposive sampling. The results showed that the level of self-confidence increased after participating in group guidance services with modeling techniques as indicated by the results of the calculation of the Pretest average of 127.7000 and Postest of 165.8000 using Paired Samples Statistics and the significance level (2-tailed) of 0.000 <0.05 which means that modeling techniques in group guidance are effective in increasing self-confidence.

Abstract

The general objective in the implementation plan of community service is to socialize a way or method to develop students' self-efficacy in career decision making in Purwakarta. The type of outcomes generated from this training is to increase teacher competency in developing self-efficacy of student career decisions. Based on the interview results it was found that many teachers did not understand how to provide assistance to students in the career field, so that it was more burdened / directed to the guidance and counseling teacher in the school. However, because of the very far ratio between teacher guidance and counseling with students, so many students do not get career guidance services that impact on career decision-making of students who are made carelessly and part of it (conformity in career).
