Abstract

Background: Post partum mothers have their own impacts on mothers, including early initiation of breastfeeding (IMD) which is not fulfilled which results in problems with the mother's breastfeeding process. The ineffectiveness of post-partum breastfeeding makes it difficult for mothers to give breast milk to their babies. One effort that can be done is to do an oxytocin massage using lavender aromatherapy. Objective: To describe the implementation of oxytocin massage nursing using aromatherapy in post partum patients with ineffective breastfeeding. Method: The design of this case study is descriptive in the form of a case study with a nursing process approach consisting of assessment, nursing diagnosis, planning, evaluation and documentation. The case study subjects were 2 cases of post partum patients with ineffective breastfeeding at the Muhammadiyah Palembang Hospital in 2024. Results: The results of the case study after implementing oxytocin nursing using lavender aromatherapy showed that the results from patient 1 and patient 2 showed that breast milk supply increased. There is a significant relationship between breastfeeding and the ineffectiveness of giving oxytocin massage using lavender aromatherapy. Conclusion: Implementation of breastfeeding nursing is not effective. Giving oxytocin massage using lavender aromatherapy can be applied because it is effective in increasing breast milk production.

Abstract

Background: Modules have several advantages, such as being self-instructional, self-contained, standalone, adaptive, and user-friendly, making them valuable as learning media for parents. The Mindfulness Parenting Prevent Stunting (MPCS) i module developed in this study is an innovative effort to improve parenting quality by focusing on mindfulness in parenting, emotional awareness, and wise responses. It aims to strengthen the relationship between parents and children to support healthy growth and development, thereby helping to prevent stunting. Method: This study used a Research and Development (R&D) approach based on the ADDIE model, developed by Robert Maribe Branch in 1975, which consists of five stages: Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. Results: The module was assessed through expert validation and small-scale testing. It received an 84.46% rating from media experts (considered fairly valid with minor revisions), 100% from subject matter experts (very valid), and 94.67% from small-scale tests (very valid). Conclusion: The development of the MPCS module to improve parenting is worthwhile and recommended for use.

Abstract

Background: Adolescence is a transitional period characterized by rapid physical, psychological, and intellectual growth and development, making adolescents vulnerable to reproductive health problems. One non-communicable disease in adolescents that increases annually is breast cancer. This study aims to determine the knowledge and attitudes of adolescent girls regarding breast self-examination (SADARI) as an early detection of breast cancer. By conducting a SADARI examination, immediate action can be taken if abnormalities are found. Method: This study used an observational, analytic, cross-sectional design. The sample was selected using a purposive sampling technique. The total sample size was 33 respondents. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. Results: After data processing, the results showed a significant relationship between knowledge (p-value = 0.002 (p<0.05) and attitude (p-value = 0.000 (p<0.05) and SADARI behavior. Conclusion: There is a relationship between adolescent girls' knowledge and attitudes and SADARI behavior as an early detection of breast cancer.
