Abstract

This study aims, among others: first, to determine the effect of Group Investigation learning media on learning outcomes in the material of Rotational Dynamics in class XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. This research was conducted at SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan with a population of all students of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan and as samples were taken  33 students of class XI IPA 2 as the experimental class and 27 students of class XI IPA 3 as the control class using a purposive sampling method. sampling). The study used an experimental method (Experimental Method) and the research data were analyzed by statistical methods. The study used a data collection tool, namely the test of physics learning outcomes. The results of the study show that, first, there is an influence of Group Investigation learning media on the learning outcomes of Rotational Dynamics material in class XI of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan.

Abstract

This study aims to produce an increase in student learning activities through the use of mind map learning strategies for class IX-4 students of SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan in the 2021-2022 academic year. The subjects of this study were students of class IX-4 SMP Negeri 8 Padangsidimpuan, totaling 30 people. This type of research is classroom action research (CAR) with the application of a Mind Map. The parameters observed were limited to: student activities during learning, the results of students' psychomotor abilities in making mind maps and student responses to mind map learning activities obtained after learning activities. The data obtained were analyzed by the percentage of value acquisition with descriptive and qualitative descriptive techniques. The results showed that in the first cycle the percentage of all activities was 51.79%, while in the second cycle the percentage of all activities was 72.07%, an increase of 20.28%. The results of the Mind Map assessment in the first cycle showed a percentage value of 69.3% or sufficient. Meanwhile, in Cycle II, the percentage value of 80.3% or good increased by 11% from Cycle I. Student responses to learning with the mind map learning strategy were very positive. Based on the results of the research above, it can be concluded that learning using mind map learning strategies on ecosystem materials in class IX-4 has increased from cycle I to cycle II.

Abstract

The sample of this research is MAS Darul Ikhlas Class XI with 30 students. The sampling technique was purposive sampling. The results of the study indicate that between the initial conditions (Pre-Cycle), Cycle I and Cycle II, it can be seen that during the initial conditions the average value of the class was 60.21, while the average value of the first cycle class had increased to 69.79. and in the second cycle it increased sharply to 81.67. The results of the study showed that there was an increase in student’s physics learning achievement after the treatment.

Abstract

Instrumen merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam proses pembelajaran. Salah satu masalah yang terjadi di sekolah adalah instrumen yang disusun oleh guru masih cenderung lebih menguji aspek ingatan siswa dan belum berorientasi pada instrumen yang mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Beberapa alasan yang dikemukakan oleh guru adalah kurangnya pengetahuan, kemampuan serta keterampilan guru dalam menyusun instrumen yang dapat mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa khususnya dalam mata pelajaran Biologi. Sehingga perlu dilakukan pelatihan terhadap guru-guru dalam menyusun instrumen tes berbasis HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill). Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada guru mata pelajaran Biologi SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) di Kota Padangsidimpuan dalam menyusun instrumen tes berbasis HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill). Pelaksanaan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode ceramah, diskusi dan proyek. Hasil yang diperoleh dari kegiatan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan yang dilakukan berjalan efektif dalam memberikan pengetahuan dan pemahaman kepada guru terkait bagaimana menyusun instrumen tes biologi berbasis HOTS (High Order Thinking Skill) yang dapat mengasah kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk memberikan pengetahuan baru kepada tenaga pendidik Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Padang Sidempuan tentang penggunaan gambar sebagai media pembelajaran yang dapat meningkatkan minat belajar dari peserta didik. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dimulai dari tahap analisis situasi, persiapan dan pelaksanaan kegiatan, serta pelaksanaan evaluasi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 15 orang peserta didik berkebutuhan khusus Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan adalah praktek langsung dalam pemberian materi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan media gambar. Dari hasil pelaksanaan kegiatan dapat disimpulkan bahwa gambar sebagai media pembelajaran dapat meningkatkan minat peserta didik pada Sekolah Luar Biasa (SLB) Negeri Padang Sidempuan hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil perbandingan sebelum dan sesudah penggunaan gambar dalam pembelajaran yang dilakukan. Sebelum menggunakan gambar peserta didik cenderung tidak aktif, diam dan bermain sendiri serta tidak memperdulikan tenaga pendidik saat memberikan materi di depan kelas. Setelah menggunakan media gambar pada pembelajaran, terlihat peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dari pengetahuan, perhatian, serta kecepatan peserta didik dalam menjawab soal yang diberikan.

Abstract

This community service is carried out in which the activities obtained find a problem at SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. The problems found in increasing the professional development of teachers where one of the activities is through academic development and the development of teacher functional positions. In this case one of the conditions in this increase is to make a scientific work. In this case the teacher experiences difficulties in writing scientific papers starting from the introduction in making a background problem, methods and discussions that are in accordance with the research conducted by the teacher. With this activity, teachers can be trained in writing good scientific work. This activity was carried out at SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan which was attended by 30 teachers. The method used is to use training through a quantitative approach to the results. This dedication activity has stages starting from planning, implementing and analyzing training in writing scientific papers for teachers of SMA Negeri 6 Padangsidimpuan. The result of this community service activity is that teachers understand better how to write scientific papers and are already able to make scientific work in accordance with the research being conducted.

Abstract

The integration of local traditions into science education has the potential to enhance student engagement, cultural relevance, and academic performance. This study explores the development of an innovative integrated science curriculum that incorporates the rich cultural heritage of Southern Tapanuli, Indonesia. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing purposive sampling to select approximately 30 participants, including teachers, students, and community members. Data collection involves semi-structured interviews, classroom observations, and document analysis. Thematic analysis reveals five key themes: Cultural Relevance (107 mentions), Engagement (127 mentions), Community Involvement (71 mentions), Practical Applications (39 mentions), and Challenges (31 mentions). Content analysis further highlights the importance of cultural context (30.7%) and participant interaction (36.0%). Comparative analysis indicates significant differences between groups, with Group A demonstrating higher mean scores (82.5 vs. 75.2, p<0.05) and success rates (78% vs. 65%, p<0.01). Inferential statistics, including t-tests (t=2.45, p=0.018), ANOVA (F=4.67, p=0.012), and chi-square tests (χ²=10.30, p=0.015), support the existence of significant differences and associations between variables. These findings align with previous research emphasizing the benefits of interactive teaching methods and community engagement in education. The study concludes that culturally responsive teaching approaches and community involvement can significantly enhance student motivation and achievement in science education. Future research should further explore these relationships in diverse educational settings to validate and extend these findings.

Abstract

The incorporation of multimedia resources in physics education has become a crucial approach for improving student understanding by combining verbal and visual components. This investigation utilizes a mixed-methods design to assess the impact of multimedia tools on student participation and comprehension in physics courses. Quantitative information was gathered through assessments before and after the intervention, while qualitative data was obtained from student interviews and in-class observations. The study involved creating tailored multimedia materials, which were subsequently integrated into lessons. Quantitative data underwent statistical analysis, including paired t-tests, while qualitative findings were examined using thematic analysis. The results revealed a substantial increase in student engagement from 45% without multimedia to 85% with its use. Additionally, the post-test mean score (79.3 ± 8.81) exceeded the pre-test average (58.5 ± 12.65), suggesting enhanced understanding and uniformity among students. Qualitative outcomes highlighted multimedia's contribution to clarifying intricate concepts, improving communication abilities, and promoting collaborative learning. The research concludes that the strategic integration of multimedia tools within cooperative frameworks can establish a vibrant, interactive learning environment, considerably enhancing students' conceptual grasp and preparing them for future academic and career challenges.

Abstract

Scientific literacy is a high-level thinking skill, and according to PISA 2018, Indonesia is 70th out of 78 countries participating in the OECD, with an average score of 396. Low level of students' high-level thinking skills in Natural Sciences subjects can also be seen in the school exam results. National Standard at SMP/MTs in Padangsidimpuan. This research aims to develop integrated natural science teaching materials based on the Differentiated Learning Model and evaluate its feasibility and effectiveness. This research uses the ADDIE research and development model. The instrument used to obtain validity uses a questionnaire with a Likert scale and for the effectiveness of scientific literacy uses a scientific literacy test with multiple choices. The research results show validity of teaching materials with aspects of content suitability is 89.45%, presentation suitability is 92.00%, language assessment is 94.20%, and scientific literacy assessment is 85.88%, with very valid criteria. The effectiveness of teaching materials is shown by the difference in the average score between the experimental class (83.55) and the control class (75,00) at postest. Based on the mean calculation, the average of the experimental class posttest is higher than the average of the control class posttest, The concluded that the scientific literacy of experimental class students has increased more than that of control class students.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the significant influence of student creativity on the subject of static fluids after implementing the AR-based pictorial riddle learning model in class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur. This research is a Quasi Experimental Research. The instruments in this research were essay test instruments and student observation sheets. The population is 270 class XI students of SMAN Negeri 1 East Angkola and the sample here uses a cluster random sampling technique with an experimental class of class Based on the research data obtained and the results of the statistical tests that have been carried out, it can be concluded that there is a significant difference between the average score and the results of the t-test analysis of two independent samples. The average post-test score for the experimental class was 77.30, more than higher than the post-test average score in the control class of 69.13. The statistical test results show that tcount 2.72 > ttable 1.717, for a significance level of 95% and α = 0.05 so that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. So it can be concluded that through the application of the pictorial riddle learning model, it can improve students' ability to think creatively in Class XI of SMA Negeri 1 Angkola Timur..
