Abstract

Abstract SMP Labschool Jakarta in the 2023-2024 school year has a total of 684 students from various races, ethnicities, cultures, and religions. Life at SMP Labschool Jakarta is colored by the diversity of students who come from various ethnic, cultural, and regional backgrounds such as Javanese, Sundanese, Betawi, and Batak. In addition, there are various religious backgrounds embraced by students, including Hinduism, Christianity, Catholicism, and the majority of Muslims. This diversity requires serious efforts for educators to maintain harmony in differences and show the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika. Multicultural education is essential to reduce conflicts arising from these differences and form a character that is open to differences. This study uses a qualitative descriptive method to explore the application of multicultural education in SMP Labschool Jakarta. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results of the study show that SMP Labschool Jakarta shows its commitment to multicultural education by designing an inclusive curriculum that is oriented towards national values and justice. This approach is expected to create an inclusive environment and respect diversity, so that multicultural education becomes an integral part of the teaching and learning process in school life.

Abstract

Indonesia has a significantly higher maternal mortality ratio (MMR) than other countries in Southeast Asia, and infection is one of the most common causes of maternal deaths, of which premature rupture of membranes (PROM) can be the consequence of the infections. In primary healthcare settings, midwives play an important role in identifying and managing PROM appropriately; however, studies on their knowledge, attitudes, and practices related to PROM are limited. The aim of this study was to determine the midwives' knowledge, attitude and healthcare practice on PROM in Indonesia. A cross-sectional study was conducted among midwives at primary healthcare facilities in Samosir and Toba Regency, North Sumatra, Indonesia, from July to November 2022. The knowledge, attitude and practice towards PROM were assessed. Results showed that 57.5% of midwives had poor knowledge and 35.1% had poor attitude levels. There were 4.9% of midwives referred the patients immediately to the hospital. Our data indicated that aged 31−40 or 41−50 years, having a lower than bachelor degree and having a higher monthly number of referred PROM patients were significantly associated with poor knowledge compared to younger, having a bachelor degree, and lower monthly referral patient number, respectively. Similarly, younger, having higher degree and a having lower monthly referral number of PROM cases were associated with higher chances of having a sufficient-good attitude towards PROM. This study highlights that a significant percentage of midwives had poor levels of knowledge and attitude, and age, educational level and monthly referral number of PROM cases were associated with the level of knowledge and attitude.

Abstract

The researcher's aim in raising this theme is to obtain information about how much influence transformational leadership has on teacher creativity in the organization (school). The targets studied by researchers were 290 State Civil Apparatus/ Aparatur Sipil Negara (ASN) teachers in Cibitung District State Elementary Schools with a total of 38 schools. Researchers used a significance level of 5% because of the large number of samples in the Cibitung District. This research also used multistage random sampling because the State Civil Apparatus (ASN) was not evenly distributed in each school. The results of this research show that (1) there is an influence of transformational leadership on teacher creativity, (2) there is an influence of organizational climate on teacher creativity, and (3) there is an influence of transformational leadership on organizational climate.

Abstract

Purpose – This research explores the pivotal role of social support in augmenting leadership efficacy at Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Jombang, a prominent Islamic educational establishment in Indonesia. Design/methods/approach – Adopting a qualitative case study approach, data was accrued through semi-structured interviews and observation. Rigorous measures, including data triangulation and member-checking, were instituted to bolster the study's credibility and authenticity. Findings – Four core categories of social support emerged: Emotional, Instrumental, Informational, and Appraisal. These types, while distinct, collaboratively underpin leadership potency. Specifically, Emotional support markedly amplifies self-assuredness and judicious decision-making, whereas Instrumental support optimizes operational processes. Informational support is pivotal in tactical problem resolution and discerning decision-making, while Appraisal support consolidates the institution's reputation and garners community faith. Research implications/limitations – These insights have profound ramifications for understanding leadership within Islamic educational contexts, especially in Indonesia. To fortify educational leadership, stakeholders and policy framers are urged to weave social support paradigms into overarching educational directives. Nonetheless, the research's concentration on one establishment and the absence of extended temporal data serve as its primary constraints.

Abstract

Atherosclerotic plaque, which forms in blood arteries due to a lack of blood flow to the cells that produce blood flow, is a disease that causes a continuous decline in the function of body cells that characterizes degenerative diseases of the cardiovascular system. Through physical exercise, this study seeks to prevent several degenerative diseases of the cardiovascular system by reducing indicators of metabolic symptoms. The type of research applied is Action Research with the Spiral Model of Kemmis and Taggart, which is realized through the stages of Plan, Action, Observation, and Reflection. The sample used in this study has purposive sampling criteria, namely participant techniques based on age, namely 15-25 years old, who is studying at Bina Guna College of Sports and Health, and who has healthy body conditions and has symptoms of degenerative diseases of the cardiovascular system. The number of participants obtained was 30 people. 75% of participant data came from obesity measurements, 50% from hypertension, 45% from above-normal cholesterol levels, 20% from above-normal sugar measurements, and 50% from uric acid. The following metrics were used to assess the success of the physical activity model: (1) Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements were used to determine obesity levels; (2) blood pressure devices were used to measure hypertension; and (3) Autocheck was used to measure uric acid, sugar, and cholesterol. The implementation of two cycles led to a 30% decrease in obese patients, a 13% decrease in hypertension, a 13% decrease in cholesterol, a 10% decrease in blood sugar levels, and a 10% decrease in uric acid. The concept of physical fitness in the form of a movement activity concept developed as physical activity in the form of gymnastics based on structured and systematic movements, physical activity in the form of a daily activity schedule, and physical education as a diet as an example of a diet in carrying out activities, the prevention model through physical activity influences reducing the symptoms of degenerative diseases in the cardiovascular system.

Abstract

Globally, pneumonia is the fourth leading cause of death in the world and the deadliest infectious disease. The 2019 Global Burden of Disease (GDB) study stated that lower respiratory tract infections were responsible for more than 2.49 million deaths with the highest mortality rate in patients over 70 years of age at 1.23 million and 672,000 deaths in patients less than 5 years old. With an increase in cases and high mortality rates in pneumonia, it is necessary to analyze the survival of pneumonia patients by conducting a survival analysis. The design of this study was a retrospective cohort study that observed pneumonia patients who had been hospitalized by looking for factors associated with pneumonia mortality. The population in this study was 1,371 with a sample size of 363 patients. The results of the research factor of vitamin C p-value (0.173) > (0.05) there is no relationship of vitamin C. The factor of ventilator p-value (0.001) < (0.05), there is a relationship between ventilator and pneumonia survival with HR = 1451.802. The factor of decreased consciousness p-value (<0.0001) < (0.05) there is a relationship between decreased consciousness and pneumonia survival with HR = 3.923. The severity factor p-value (0.011) < α (0.05), there is an association of severity with the survival of pneumonia with HR = 3739.9. The author suggests that medical personnel prioritize patients using ventilators and their severity to prevent death and provide optimal care on day 12 because it has a high failure rate. Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the impact of self-efficacy and work environment on the self-development of elementary school teachers in Larangan Subdistrict, Tangerang City. Teacher self-development is considered an important element in improving the quality of education, which is influenced by internal factors such as self-efficacy as well as external factors such as the work environment. This study used a quantitative approach with an explanatory research model, involving 80 public elementary school teachers in Larangan Subdistrict, Tangerang City, as respondents. Data were collected through a questionnaire designed to measure self-efficacy, perceptions of the work environment, and level of self-development. The data were then analyzed using the Multiple Linear Regression Analysis method to determine the effect of the two independent variables on the dependent variable. The results showed that self-efficacy and work environment simultaneously had a significant influence on teacher self-development with a contribution of 64.4%. This finding suggests that teachers' belief in their abilities (self-efficacy) and the existence of a supportive work environment, such as positive interpersonal relationships, adequate facilities, and a conducive work atmosphere, are the main factors that encourage their self-development. Partially, self-efficacy and work environment each showed a significant positive influence. This study concludes that increasing teachers' self-efficacy and improving the work environment need to be prioritized to support teachers' professional development. The implications of this study are the need for training and mentoring to improve self-efficacy and policies that support a conducive work environment. These results are expected to be a reference for schools and policymakers in designing more effective teacher development programs. Keywords: Self Development; Self Efficacy; Work Environtment; Educational Management Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh self-efficacy dan lingkungan kerja terhadap pengembangan diri guru Sekolah Dasar (SD) di Kecamatan Larangan, Kota Tangerang.
