Learning mathematics does not only teach mathematical concepts, but requires students to encourage critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills are also 21st century skills that enable students to think reflectively and reason in making decisions. Several factors influence critical thinking, including cognitive style and self-efficacy. The purpose of this study was to analyze: (1) students' critical thinking skills with field dependent and field independent cognitive styles who have high self-efficacy. (2) students' critical thinking skills with field dependent and field independent cognitive styles have low self-efficacy. This research is a qualitative research using the phenomenological method in elementary schools throughout the Gayungan District. Subjects were selected from 14 elementary schools in Gayungan District. Through purposive sampling, students with a certain cognitive style and self-efficacy were selected. The method used in the form of questionnaires, tests, and interviews. The researcher as the main instrument, assisted by cognitive style and self-efficacy questionnaire instruments, critical thinking ability test questions, and interview guidelines. Data analysis used qualitative analysis and the validity of the data used the triangulation method.

The low level of understanding among fifth-grade students in learning the concepts of speed and discharge causes difficulties in solving story problems. This research aims to develop a learning media using an Articulate Storyline for the concepts of speed and discharge in the fifth grade of SDN Krian IV. The Articulate Storyline learning media contains concepts of speed and discharge presented in a narrative form, accompanied by triggering questions and interactive quizzes. The Research and Development method with the 4D model was used, but only up to three stages: Define, Design, and Development. Time constraints were a consideration for the researcher in determining the research stages. Data collection techniques used in this research included interviews with fifth-grade teachers and questionnaires for validation. The research results are as follows: 1) the development process of Articulate Storyline learning media for the topics of speed and discharge went through several stages and product revisions; 2) the Articulate Storyline learning media for the concepts of speed and discharge meets the criteria for suitability to be used in the learning process, as indicated by the validation results from an expert in three aspects: media, content, and language assessment, all of which received the category of Very Feasible.

Ethnomathematics learning in elementary school has significant potential to increase students' interest and understanding of mathematical reasoning skills, especially on the material of building space. This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the application of ethnomathematics of Javanese traditional cakes on students' mathematical reasoning on the material of the properties of building spaces for grade II SDN Anggaswangi II students. This research is a quantitative study with a research design, namely Quasi eksperimental using post-test only control group design. The population in the study amounted to 66 students. The sample selected in this study was taken with a saturated sample technique where all members of the population were sampled. The samples in this study were class II-A with 33 students as the experimental class and class II-B as the control class with 33 students. The data collection method used was a test using a test sheet. Using the statistical analysis method used, namely the T test (independent sample t-test) with the prerequisite test of normality test and homogeneity test using the SPSS version 21 application.Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of ethnomathematics of traditional Javanese cakes on students' mathematical reasoning on the material of the properties of class II SDN Anggaswangi II.

Mathematics is something that is not far from formulas, of course several concepts will arise in solving problems in mathematics. If in and several concepts This research aims to describe students' misconceptions about the material on operations to calculate mixed fractions based on concept understanding in the criteria for high mathematical understanding, the criteria for moderate mathematical understanding, and the criteria for low mathematical understanding. The subjects of this research were fifth grade students at SDN Ngagel Rejo I/396 Surabaya. One subject has high mathematical understanding criteria, one subject has moderate mathematical understanding criteria, and one subject has low mathematical understanding criteria. The form of this research is qualitative. The data collection technique used was written tests and interviews, while the research instrument used was a misconception test which consisted of description/essay questions and interview guidelines. The data analysis technique for this research is through data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. This research was conducted on class V students of SDN Ngagel Rejo I/396 Surabaya. The results of this research show that several students stated that they still had difficulty operating mixed fractions into improper fractions and vice versa, they encountered several students who had difficulty working with fractions with different denominators, were unable to simplify fractions, and had difficulty understanding word problems.

Numeracy is very important for students to master in the 21st century. Numeracy means applying numerical and mathematical concepts. The fact that the applied learning is still not effective at SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya. The purpose of this study was to find out that there was no effect of domino card-assisted Problem Based Learning on student numeracy. This type of research uses quantitative research with experimental methods. The design of this study was a nonequivalnt posttest-only control design. The population in this study were all grade III students at SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya, totaling 44 students. Through cluster random sampling, a sample of class III B was selected as the experimental class and class III A as the control class. Data collection techniques through tests. The data analysis technique used is a statistical test consisting of a normality test, homogeneity test, and hypothesis testing using the t-test. The results of the study showed that there was an influence of Problem Based Learning assisted by domino cards on the numeracy of class III SDN Gayungan II/423 Surabaya.

This study investigates the influence of mathematics anxiety on the critical thinking processes of primary school students when solving numeracy tasks. Using a qualitative case study design, data were collected through written responses and follow-up interviews with students categorized according to their levels of mathematics anxiety. Analysis focused on three indicators of critical thinking: clarification, strategy, and inference. The findings show that students with high mathematics anxiety typically demonstrated the ability to extract key information from problem statements and diagrams, demonstrating strength in clarification. However, their ability to formulate strategies and provide justified inferences was limited, as they often relied on rote recall, omitted calculation steps, and expressed uncertainty about their answers. These patterns show how anxiety specifically hampers the ability to perform calculations and make confident decisions, even when students demonstrate basic comprehension. The study underscores the need for pedagogical approaches that simultaneously develop numeracy skills and address affective barriers, thereby supporting students’ capacity to engage in reasoning and problem solving more effectively.
