Abstract

Abstract: The background of this writing was that the church's attention towards music was declining, especially in small churches that did not pay attention to the important role of music and worship, which certainly influenced the congregation’s spiritual growth. Karl Barth once said a church that did not sing was not a church, therefore the presence of expert musicians and worshippers were needed. In describing the topic, the researchers used qualitative methods by obtaining data sources from literature studies, both printed books and online media. The discussion on this topic suggested that we should not forget the early history of music and its development, everyone had to be trained to become expert in art, this was written in the Bible, so that the church music could affect the congregation’s spirituality. Consequently, it was hoped that church music would be proper and right before God. Worship could give everything: life, strength, expertise in music and singing to serve God the creator. Thus, the conclusion obtained from this paper was that church music played a vital role in developing not only the quantity but also the spiritual quality of the congregation. Abstract

Abstract: The rise of interpretations from non-Christian religious leaders about Christian teachings is the highlight of the researcher in this study, especially the wrong interpretation of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus. Non-Christian figures interpret that Jesus was never crucified, but it was someone else who was crucified because Jesus could disappear, besides that the opinions of the interpreters do not agree with each other, some say, Yudah Iscariot, Simon the Cyrenian, Simon the Arab, Barsabas and others. This interpretation contradicts the Christian Faith and the testimony of the Bible, so researchers want to prove with this research to prove that Jesus was really crucified and died on the cross. This research uses descriptive qualitative methods through literature studies supported by historical documents. From the results of the research, it was found that the undeniable fact according to the law that Jesus was crucified on the hill of Golgotha and died, and rose on the third day, as witnessed by eyewitnesses, also reinforced by the testimony of philosophers and early church fathers, as well as testimony from non-Christians that Jesus Christ was really crucified and died on the cross, was buried and rose on the third day.

Abstract

Abstract: New technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), is changing how churches work and connect with people. This study looks at the good and bad ways AI affects churches, focusing on the need for knowledge and understanding to deal with these changes. AI can make church work more efficient and help churches reach more people online. But it also brings ethical and theological challenges, like the possibility of less face-to-face interaction and weaker relationships. Churches in Indonesia and around the world are using social media and apps to connect with people who are far apart, which helps keep communities close even when they are physically distant. This study uses a qualitative approach with a literature review to analyze how communication technology affects religious practices from both theological and sociological perspectives. Proverbs 1:5 serves as a guiding principle, emphasizing wisdom and understanding as churches embrace technological advancements while maintaining their spiritual integrity. The findings show that with a careful approach, churches can use new technology to support their spiritual mission and keep their faith communities strong.

Abstract

Social crises such as pandemics, social conflicts, and economic instability affect the strength of community faith. The purpose of this paper is to investigate how congregational spirituality can help faith resilience in the midst of crisis using a pastoral theological approach. The main question posed in this study is how spirituality and church community build faith resilience in times of social crisis? The method used is a descriptive qualitative study with a theological-pastoral approach, utilizing literature review and contextual analysis. The findings of this study indicate that various spiritual practices, such as prayer and fellowship, as well as involvement in the church community, are highly influential in strengthening the faith of the congregation amidst crisis situations. However, obstacles such as a lack of discipleship and community fragmentation were also found. Therefore, the church must be present contextually and actively to strengthen the faith of the people during the current crisis.
