Abstract

This study delves into the ethical considerations of phone sex within long-distance marital relationships (LDRs) from a Christian ethical perspective. Employing qualitative methods, including scriptural analysis and literature review, the research aims to ascertain the compatibility of phone sex with Christian doctrinal teachings concerning marital intimacy. The findings suggest that phone sex is perceived as diverging from the Christian ethical norms which advocate for physical and personal marital interactions, categorizing it as a form of sexual perversion akin to masturbation. The study contributes to theological discourse by providing a framework for understanding modern challenges in marital intimacy within the Christian context. It emphasizes the importance of maintaining physical intimacy as prescribed by scripture and highlights the potential spiritual and ethical pitfalls associated with phone sex in LDRs. Recommendations include fostering educational and counseling initiatives within church communities to guide couples in navigating these issues. This study enriches the dialogue on integrating technology into marital practices while adhering to Christian ethical standards.

Abstract

The rise of Christians apostasy to other religions underlies the researcher to conduct this research. The method used in this study is qualitative descriptive where the research report contains data citations from manuscripts, interviews, field notes, videos, personal documents, notes or other official documents to find the truth in answering this research. The finding of this study is that apostasy occurs because the theological understanding of Christians is not deep. The strategy to prevent such apostasy is that the church must utilize technology as a means for understanding the Christian faith, carry out pastoral and pastoral care to the congregation seriously, as well as monitor contemporary issues that arise through social media that attack the Christian faith in an improper way, then conduct studies and provide the congregation with a correct theological understanding, the church can also use social media to convey true Christian teachings so that the Christian congregation can know the true teachings to ward off the heresy that leads to apostasy.

Abstract

In the age of significant medical technology advancements, the management of complex medical conditions such as vegetative states presents profound ethical dilemmas for families, healthcare providers, and the community. This study explores the role of Christian theology in guiding ethical decision-making amidst these challenges, focusing on the concept of "imago Dei," which asserts that every human being is created in the image and likeness of God. Employing a qualitative-descriptive approach, this research integrates theological insights with medical dilemmas, emphasizing the importance of honoring human dignity and addressing ethical challenges in medical decision-making. The findings suggest that theological principles not only enrich medical understanding but also provide ethical and holistic guidance, these principles support decisions that honor the value of human life and patient dignity, whether in sustaining patient life or considering the termination of life-support measures. This study highlights the need for ongoing dialogue between theology and medical practice to ensure that healthcare remains sensitive to human and ethical aspects.AbstrakDalam era kemajuan teknologi medis yang signifikan, pengelolaan kondisi medis yang kompleks seperti kematian vegetatif menimbulkan dilema etis yang mendalam bagi keluarga, tenaga medis, dan masyarakat. Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi peran teologi Kristen dalam membimbing keputusan etis di tengah-tengah tantangan ini, dengan fokus khusus pada konsep "imago Dei" yang menyatakan bahwa setiap manusia diciptakan menurut gambar dan rupa Allah. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif-deskriptif, penelitian ini mengintegrasikan wawasan teologis dengan dilema medis, menekankan pentingnya menghargai martabat manusia dan mengatasi tantangan etis dalam pengambilan keputusan medis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa prinsip-prinsip teologis tidak hanya memperdalam pemahaman medis, tetapi juga memberikan arahan etis dan holistik. Prinsip-prinsip ini mendukung keputusan yang menghormati nilai kehidupan manusia dan martabat pasien, baik dalam mendukung keberlangsungan hidup pasien maupun dalam mempertimbangkan terminasi alat bantu kehidupan. Studi ini menekankan kebutuhan akan dialog yang berkelanjutan antara teologi dan praktik medis untuk memastikan bahwa perawatan kesehatan tetap sensitif terhadap aspek kemanusiaan dan etika.

Abstract

Politik bila digunakan untuk kemanusiaan sangat mulia, namun karena praktik yang saling menguntungkan antara oknum dengan berbagai masyarakat terkait kebijakan politik yang difokuskan pada agenda pribadi dan bukan kepada publik. Menjadi tidak mulia lagi karena agenda pribadi cenderung memperkaya diri. Tujuan dari penelitian ini supaya dapat memberikan paradigma bagi kekristenan untuk menekankan nilai agama dalam membangun etika politik supaya melahirkan kebijakan yang pro dengan masyarakat luas dan kemanusiaan. Menggunakan metode kualitatif deskritif dengan pendekatan studi literature maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa penekanan terhadap membangun etika politik dalam aktualisasi kebijakan publik adalah, yang pertama perlunya penekanan akan kajian teoritik dan hakikat etika politik yang dapat memberikan pencerahan bagi politisi dan kekristenan dewasa ini. Selanjutnya aksentuasi nilai-nilai agama dalam etis teologis Kristen harus membawa pada perubahan terhadap segala kebijakan. Dan juga berperan pada menghargai akan nilai-nilai seperti kasih, keadilan, dan kepedulian terhadap sesama. Yang terakhir perrlunya aktualisasi gereja dan kekristenan masa kini dalam membangun etika politik dan kebijakan publik. Yang mana nilai-nilai agama memberikan landasan etis yang kuat dalam merancang kebijakan yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas hidup masyarakat secara keseluruhan. Meskipun tantangan dan perbedaan pendapat selalu ada, aksentuasi nilai-nilai agama dapat membantu memperkaya agenda-agenda politisi Kristen supaya dapat menncapai tujuan yang lebih baik dalam membangun masyarakat yang lebih adil dan berdaya.  ABSTRACTPolitics when used for humanity is very noble, but due to mutually beneficial practices between individuals and various communities related to political policies that are focused on personal agendas and not to the public. It is no longer noble because personal agendas tend to enrich themselves. The purpose of this research is to provide a paradigm for Christianity to emphasise religious values in building political ethics in order to give birth to policies that are pro to the wider community and humanity. Using a descriptive qualitative method with a literature study approach, it can be concluded that the emphasis on building political ethics in the actualisation of public policy is, first, the need for emphasis on theoretical studies and the nature of political ethics that can provide enlightenment for politicians and Christianity today. Furthermore, the accentuation of religious values in Christian theological ethics must lead to changes in all policies. It also contributes to the appreciation of values such as love, justice, and care for others. Finally, the need for actualisation of the church and Christianity today in building political ethics and public policy. Where religious values provide a strong ethical foundation in designing policies that aim to improve the quality of life of society as a whole. While challenges and disagreements are always present, the accentuation of religious values can help to enrich the ethics of public policy. Keywords : Prioritising religious values; Political ethics; Actualisation; Public policy

Abstract

According to Christian faith, the Bible is the Word of God; however, Christians are required to believe that it must be based on logic and common sense. Based on this statement, the researcher examines the Book of Genesis 12:1-3 from the perspective of contract law to prove whether the various promises between God and Abraham were promises that were realized or whether one of the parties was in default. If a default arises, then the Christian Bible is a purely fictional story, and the Christian faith is a faith without common sense. Based on the articles in contract law, the main agreement is exposed in Genesis 12:1-3 and the continuation of the agreement in articles 15 and 17. Researchers use qualitative methods by relying on data collection through a literature study. The data obtained is managed and analyzed so as to obtain the results as intended. In this research, it was proven that all agreements between God and Abraham had been implemented perfectly, and it was found that all the contents of the main agreement and the continuation of the agreement had been fulfilled. Abraham and his descendants, as recipients of the promise, have received the achievements promised by God. Abraham and his descendants became the source of curses and blessings for all people on earth. AbstrakAlkitab menurut iman umat Kristen adalah Firman Tuhan, namun demikian umat Kristen dituntut untuk beriman harus didasari dengan logikan dan akal sehat. Berdasarkan pernyataan ini, peneliti mengeksposisi Kitab Kejadian 12:1-3 dari perspektif hukum perjanjian untuk membuktikan apakah berbagai janji antara Tuhan dan Abraham tersebut adalah janji yang direalisasikan ataukah salah satu pihak timbul wanprestasi. Jika timbul wanpretasi, maka Alkitab Kristen adalah suatu cerita firktif belaka, dan iman Kristen adalah iman yang tanpa akal sehat. Berdasarkan pasal-pasal dalam hukum perjanjian, dieksposisi dari  perjanjian induk pada Kejadian 12 : 1-3 dan kelanjutan perjanjian pada pasal 15 dan 17.  Peneliti menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan mengandalkan pengumpulan data melalui studi kepustakaan, data yang diperoleh dikelola dianalisa sehingga mendapatkan hasil sebagaimana maksud peneltian ini dan terbukti semua perjanjian antara Tuhan dan Abraham telah dilaksanakan secara sempurna, dimana ditemukan bahwa seluruh isi perjanjian induk dan kelanjutan perjanjian telah terpenuhi. Abraham dan keturunannya sebagai penerima janji telah menerima prestasi yang dijanjikan Tuhan dimana Abraham dan Keturunannya menjadi sumber kutuk dan berkat bagi semua kaum di muka bumi. Kata Kunci: Abraham, perjanjian Tuhan, Hukum, Kitab Kejadia

Abstract

Salah satu instrument pertumbuhan gereja secara kuantitas dilihat dari pertambahan gereja baru yang berdiri. Bila ingin terjadi mutiplikasi gereja, maka harus ada hamba Tuhan yang merintis, dengan terlebih dahulu mereka dibekali dan dipersiapkan. Ini sejalan bila melihat perkembangan gereja mula-mula, para rasul merintis gereja dan mengirim tenaga-tenaga untuk melakukannya. Di tengah kompleksitas tantangan dalam merintis gereja di masa kini, maka perlu meyakinkan calon hamba Tuhan agar tidak takut serta semangatnya tidak surut walau hambatan menghadang. Artikel ini membahas bagaimana peran Roh Kudus kepada hamba Tuhan dalam merintis gereja dengan menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dikaitkan dari pengalaman para rasul dalam merintis gereja dalam Kisah Para Rasul. Hasil dari ulasan artikel ini didapatkan suatu jawaban, peran Roh Kudus dalam merintis gereja jika diltelusuri dari pengalaman para Rasul, Ia berperan menyingkapkan pekerjaan tipu muslihat, memberikan kebijkasaan, menggerakkan orang untuk berkorban finansial. Roh Kudus juga memberikan sikap ketenangan dikala menghadapi permasalahan, dan meluputkan dari ancaman bahaya. Kata Kunci: Merintis, Gereja, Roh Kudus, Hamba Tuhan

Abstract

The development of toll road infrastructure in Indonesia is one of the national priorities to support economic growth and mobility. However, the success of this project depends not only on government and investor policies, but also on the active participation of the community. Public participation in toll road investment can increase transparency, accountability, and project sustainability. This study aims to examine the urgency of regulating elements of community participation in the toll road investment process in Indonesia. The research method used is normative juridical with an approach to analyzing laws and regulations and case studies. The results of the study show that clearer and more comprehensive public participation arrangements are needed to create an inclusive and sustainable investment environment. The arrangement must include a public consultation mechanism, information transparency, and protection of the rights of affected communities. Thus, community participation not only strengthens the legitimacy of the project, but also contributes to the long-term success of infrastructure development in Indonesia.

Abstract

In 2022, the Supreme Court of India has legalized abortion for all women, regardless of marital status. Consequently, all women in India are free to terminate their pregnancy without having to face a legal case. This decision is a breakthrough for new laws in India, including the issue of upholding women's rights. Even so, the act of arbitrary abortion is contrary to morals and Bible teachings. This article aims to discuss the legalization of abortion carried out by the Indian government from a biblical theology perspective by using a literature review approach. The findings of this research indicate that legalizing abortion through legislation is contrary to the biblical principle of the right to life. The government must guard abortion cases not only from political and socio-economic roles but also from religious beliefs and provide good sex education and a healthy environment for its people to suppress unwanted abortions. The role of parents in educating children and the role of the church in maturing the faith of the younger generation can prevent free sex and unsafe abortion in India. The contribution of this research is related to abortion, the right to life of the fetus, women's rights, sex education for the younger generation, parenting and government law.

Abstract

The purpose of this article is to answer whether Tamar's actions, which deceived her father-in-law, Judah, in Genesis 38 are justified from the point of view of Christian ethics. Answering this question can help God's people understand what to consider when making ethical decisions. The method used is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. The author collects data from various literature and then compiles systematic arguments related to the topic. The conclusion is that we could not blame Tamar for her actions since she was only trying to fight for her fate which was oppressed by Judah's indifference. This story teaches us that after God's words, the situation faced by the individual is also important to consider in ethical decision-making. AbstrakTujuan penulisan artikel ini adalah untuk menjawab pertanyaan apakah tindakan Tamar, yang mengelabui mertuanya, Yehuda, dalam Kejadian 38 dapat dibenarkan dari sudut pandang etika Kristen. Menjawab pertanyaan ini dapat menolong umat Tuhan untuk memahami apa saja yang perlu dipertimbangkan saat mengambil keputusan etis. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kajian literatur. Penulis mengumpulkan data dari berbagai literatur untuk kemudian menyusun argumentasi yang sistematis terkait topik. Kesimpulannya adalah tindakan Tamar tersebut tidak dapat disalahkan karena ia hanya berupaya memperjuangkan nasibnya yang tertindas oleh ketidakpedulian Yehuda. Pembelajaran yang dapat dipetik dari kisah ini adalah pentingnya untuk memahami firman Tuhan secara komprehensif dan mempertimbangkan situasi sebelum mengambil keputusan etis. Kata Kunci: Tamar, Yehuda, etika Kristen, keputusan etis, Kejadian 38.

Abstract

This paper describes the efficiency of field-response leadership for church growth. The method used in the writing of this article is a qualitative method with a literature. The main idea was topic because it was found that there were shepherds who did not carry out their leadership duties as an efficient return. The impact on the growth of the church is minimal because there is no quantity increase. The growth of the church is due to being encouraged to be rewarded efficiently in shepherding the church. From the aspect of the reciprocal field manager, it can empower quickly, measurably and structurally what time, energy, and money has.Keywords: Efficiency, Pastor, Church Growth ABSTRAK Tulisan ini memaparkan tentang efisiensi kepemimpinan gembala sidang bagi pertumbuhan gereja. Metode yang digunakan dalam penulisan artikel ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan pendekatan kepustakaan. Gagasan pokok lahirnya topik ini karena ditemukan fakta, adanya gembala-gembala yang tidak melakukan tugas kepemimpinanya sebagai gembala secara efisien. Dampaknya pertumbuhan gereja minim karena tidak tercipta pertambahan secara kuantitas. Pertumbuhan gereja terjadi karena didorong bila gembala efisien dalam menggembalakan jemaat. K-efisien kepempinan gembala sidang dapat dilakukan dengan memberdayakan memberdayakan secara tepat, terukur, dan terstruktur apa yang dimiliki baik waktu, tenaga, uang. Kata-kunci: Efisiensi, Gembala, Pertumbuhan Gereja
