Abstract

Aquaponic is one way to use a narrow area of land as a medium for fish cultivation and vegetables in one compartment. The types of commodities that are often cultivated using this system are tilapia fish, pakcoy vegetables, and kailan plants. The purpose of this study was to assess the effectiveness the use of pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) and kailan (Brassica oleracea) on growth rates and feed conversion ratios by tilapia fish (Oreochromis sp.) cultivated in aquaponic aquaculture systems. The method used was an experimental design with a completely randomized using 3 treatments and 3 replications. The main parameters analyzed in this study were the specific growth rate (SGR) and the fish feed conversion ratio (FCR). Meanwhile, the supporting parameters measured include water quality variables such as temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. The results showed, during the maintenance of tilapia fish (Oreochromis sp.) with an aquaponic system, pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) and kailan plants (Brassica oleracea) had an effect on increasing growth rate and feed conversion ratio by tilapia (Oreochromis sp.). In addition, during the maintenance period the water quality parameters also tend to be stabilized and comply with quality standards. The conclusion from this research is that the application of kalian plant (Brassica oleracea) use in the aquaponic system of tilapia commodities is more effective than pakcoy plants (Brassica rapa L.) with an effective SGR value at 3.15% and an FCR value at 1.21.

Abstract

Tilapia (O. niloticus) fish hatchery activity is a fishery business unit developed at the Klemunan Fish Fry Center (BBI), Blitar Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the financial value and profit of the tilapia (O. niloticus) hatchery at the Klemunan Fish Fry Center (BBI), Blitar Regency. The research method used in this research is a survey research method with research data collection in 3 ways : active participation interviews, and observations. The financial analysis indicators analyzed are business profitability variables, R/C Ratio, Rentabilitas, Break Event Point (BEP) units and BEP sales. Based on the results of the financial analysis, the business profit value is Rp. 11.170.000,-, R/C Ratio at 8.81, BEP Unit at 58.6, BEP Sales Rp. 2,349,290, -, and business profitability of 49.9%, where the value of these indicators is very feasible because the numbers meet the criteria for a profitable business. So, from this research it can be concluded that based on business financial analysis which includes profitability analysis, R/C Ratio, BEP Unit, BEP Sales, and rantabilitas business, tilapia (O. niloticus) hatchery business activities at BBI Klemunan are very profitable and prospective to be developed.

Abstract

Gouramy (O. gouramy) is a type of fish consumption that is widely cultivated. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving an herbal probiotic formulation added with meniran leaves (P. urinaria) on the growth factors of gouramy (O. gouramy). This study was conducted based on an experimental design with 5 different treatment doses (0 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 5 mg/L, 10 mg/L, and 15 mg/L) and three replications. The results showed that the higher the dose of herbal probiotics added to meniran leaves the more optimal growth impact. This can be seen from the administration of the highest dose of 15 mg/L which gave an average weight gain of 3.83 gr, a specific growth rate of 3.40%, 100% survival and stable water quality (pH 7, temperature 26-320C, salinity 3 ppt) compared to the treatment dose. others (0 mg/L, 1 mg/L, 5 mg/L, and 10 mg/L). The conclusion of this study was provision of herbal probiotic formulations added with meniran leaf extract significantly affected to the growth rate of gouramy (O. gouramy).

Abstract

Plankton are microscopic organisms that exist in the waters of shrimp ponds. The purpose of this study was to determine the profile of plankton dominance in white shrimp (L. vannamei) aquaculture ponds. This research was conducted using an ex-pose facto causal design method in intensive white shrimp culture ponds. The results of this study showed that in the research shrimp ponds, 4 main genera of plankton were found, namely the genus chlorophyceae consisting of species chlamydomonas sp., chlorella sp., oocystis sp., tetracelmis sp., genus cyanophyceae consisting of species anabaena sp., chroococcus sp., microcystis sp., oschillatoria sp., genus Euglenophyceae namely phacus sp. and the genus Dinophyceae which consists of the species gymnodinium sp. noctiluca sp. peridinium sp. prorocentrum sp. Overall the level of dominance of abundance and community dominance index was dominated by plankton of the genus chlorophyceae as much as 1.03E+06 cells/ml and a dominance index of 82.40%. Then from the genus chlorophyceae the dominant species is plankton species chlorella sp., with an abundance of 7.50E+05 cells/ml and a dominance index of 73%. The conclusion of this study is that plankton in the research ponds are dominated by the genus chlorophyceae which consists of dominant species of chlorella sp and chlamydomonas sp, oocystis sp, tetracelmis sp which are predominant.
