Abstract

Degenerative diseases are non-communicable diseases (NCDs) that are chronic. According to WHO, there are four main types of NCDs, namely cardiovascular disease (coronary heart disease and stroke), cancer, chronic respiratory disease (asthma and COPD), diabetes mellitus. The high rate of increase in blood sugar levels of more than 200 mg/dl in diabetes mellitus patients is caused by many factors that cause an increase in blood sugar levels. The aim of this study was to analyze the factors that influence the increase in blood sugar levels in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients at Anshari Saleh Hospital, Banjarmasin. The design in this study used a cross sectional method. The statistical tests used are the Sperm Rank test and multiple logistic regression test. The sampling technique uses proportional sampling. The research results showed that there was an influence of physical activity, stress, emotional intelligence, eating patterns, and medication adherence with increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients (p0.05), there was no influence of obesity and heredity with increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes patients. Mellitus (p0.05) and the factor that has the most influence on increasing blood sugar levels in diabetes mellitus patients is diet with an odds ratio of 38,428. Nurses need to improve the quality of services by improving methods, educational media, or ways of conveying information that will be given to patients' families and patients regarding diabetes mellitus so that it is easier for families to understand.

Abstract

Company competitiveness is very important for business continuity. Therefore, the research aims to investigate and find an empirical model of the influence of entrepreneurial values, transformational leadership, and service innovation on company competitiveness through mediating mechanisms of organizational performance. The research uses a quantitative approach with survey methods and causal design. The sample was 153 leaders of ferry companies in Indonesia. The research instruments consist of organizational performance, competitiveness, entrepreneurial values, transformational leadership, and service innovation, as questionnaires were designed as a Likert scale. The questionnaire was distributed in Google Form format via the WhatsApp application. Data were analyzed using structural equation modeling analysis based on partial least squares (SEM-PLS). The research's findings demonstrate that entrepreneurial values, transformational leadership, service innovation, and organizational performance all significantly impact a company's competitiveness; additionally, entrepreneurial values, transformational leadership, and service innovation have a major impact on organizational performance, which in turn has a significant impact on company competitiveness. These results support a novel empirical model of how entrepreneurial values, transformational leadership, and service innovation affect company competitivenessby using organizational performance as a mediating factor. Before being modified or used for their future work, researchers, academics, and practitioners should critically examine this new model without discounting some of the study's limitations.

Abstract

This study creates an online Decision Support System (DSS) using the TOPSIS algorithm to fairly choose outstanding teachers from vocational schools in Bekasi City, which has 87 state and private vocational secondary schools with about 62,000 students. To tackle the current biased selection process, our research uses a multi-criteria approach that looks at discipline (25%), travel costs (20%), personality (20%), teaching administration (15%), and learning achievements (20%). Targeting this substantial educational population, our research addresses the current subjective selection process by implementing a multi-criteria approach evaluating discipline (25%), travel costs (20%), personality (20%), teaching administration (15%), and learning achievements (20%). The TOPSIS method was selected for its proven effectiveness in ranking alternatives based on geometric distance from ideal solutions, particularly valuable in large-scale educational contexts. Analysis of 14 teacher candidates from SMK Bina Karya Mandiri demonstrated the system's precision, with Didi Saputra, S.Pdi, emerging as top-ranked (preference value: 0.63). When extrapolated to Bekasi's 87 SMKs, the model shows potential to standardize teacher assessment citywide, reducing regional disparities in recognition practices. The web-based platform enhances accessibility, allowing principals across 21 sub-districts to input localized data while maintaining centralized benchmarking. Key findings reveal (1) discipline and personality collectively account for 45% of exemplary status determination, (2) cost-related factors show inverse correlation with remote school nominations, and (3) system implementation could reduce selection time by ≈68% compared to manual methods. This study contributes both a scalable framework for educational DSS and empirical data on vocational teacher excellence criteria in urban Indonesia.

Abstract

Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) is a collection of symptoms characterized by the blockage of coronary arteries in the heart, where the supply of oxygen-rich blood and nutrients to the heart muscle is partially or completely obstructed. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that ACS is a global issue. The non-surgical intervention management for ACS patients is coronary angiography/PCI. Patients post-coronary angiography/PCI often experience rehospitalization at Ulin General Hospital due to non-compliance with post-procedure care. This study aims to identify the factors influencing the compliance of post-coronary angiography/PCI patients in their care at Ulin General Hospital Banjarmasin, using a cross-sectional descriptive analysis research design on 30 respondents with purposive sampling technique. The results of the Spearman's rho correlation statistical test showed that the motivation factor (p-value = 0.003) is the only factor with a significant influence, a strong correlation, and a positive relationship with compliance in post-coronary angiography/PCI care at Ulin General Hospital Banjarmasin. This study serves as a reference for further development integrated with other factors, beyond those presented, according to the concept of post-coronary angiography/PCI patient care.

Abstract

ABSTRACT Hypertension is associated with an increased risk of heart failure and can lead to various complications—multiple risk factors cause heart failure. To reduce the risk of complications, it is essential to implement preventive measures and manage hypertension through lifestyle changes and medication adherence. This study design uses a correlational approach with a cross-sectional methodology. The population consisted of all hypertension patients at Ulin General Hospital, averaging 190 individuals, and the sample, calculated using Slovin's formula, included 129 respondents selected through accidental sampling. Data analysis was conducted using the Spearman rank technique. The study results show that there were 74 male respondents (57.4%), 52 elderly respondents (40.3%), 108 respondents with light physical activity (83.7%), and 112 respondents with uncontrolled hypertension (86.8%). The factor associated with heart failure complications was hypertension, whereas factors such as gender, age, and physical activity were not related to heart failure complications. Future research should use a cohort method to obtain more precise results.

Abstract

Chest pain is a primary symptom in patients with coronary heart disease (CHD), often limiting physical activity and reducing quality of life. This study aimed to identify the relationship between chest pain intensity and physical activity among CHD patients at H. Boejasin District Hospital, Tanah Laut. A quantitative correlational design was employed, involving 94 patients selected by purposive sampling. Chest pain was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and physical activity was assessed with the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire (GPAQ) from WHO. The results showed that most respondents experienced moderate chest pain (78.7%) and engaged in light physical activity (74.5%). Spearman's rho test revealed a significant correlation between chest pain and physical activity (correlation coefficient 0.649; p < 0.05), indicating that higher levels of chest pain are associated with lower levels of physical activity. These findings highlight the importance of optimal pain management in CHD patients to support increased physical activity and prevent further complications. The use of standardized instruments such as NRS and GPAQ is crucial in nursing practice to monitor patients’ conditions comprehensively.
