Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi tingkat kelelahan pekerja bengkel di Pulau Lombok menggunakan metode Fatigue Assessment Scale (FAS). Kegiatan pengabdian ini melibatkan sepuluh responden dengan berbagai latar belakang demografi seperti usia, jenis kelamin, pendidikan, status pernikahan, lama kerja, dan pengalaman kecelakaan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa terdapat variasi tingkat kelelahan di antara para pekerja, di mana empat dari sepuluh responden memiliki skor kelelahan tinggi, sedangkan sisanya memiliki skor kelelahan rendah. Analisis data menunjukkan bahwa faktor usia, lama kerja, dan status pernikahan memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap tingkat kelelahan. Pemilik bengkel dengan pengalaman kerja panjang cenderung memiliki skor kelelahan yang tinggi, demikian pula dengan pegawai muda dengan lama kerja yang cukup panjang. Temuan ini menekankan pentingnya pengaturan jam kerja dan waktu istirahat yang optimal untuk mengurangi tingkat kelelahan dan meningkatkan produktivitas serta kesejahteraan pekerja. Studi ini merekomendasikan penerapan kebijakan manajemen kelelahan yang efektif di sektor industri bengkel, termasuk pelatihan kesehatan dan keselamatan kerja, serta evaluasi rutin terhadap kondisi kerja para pekerja. Dengan demikian, diharapkan dapat tercipta lingkungan kerja yang lebih sehat dan produktif bagi para pekerja bengkel di Pulau Lombok.

Abstract

The steep coastal topography makes the traditional fisherman facing a difficulty for moving boat from/to the sea towards the mainland. With the slope of 2 - 3 meters, it required at least 4 people do the job. This situation is very disturbing and reducing the productivity of the fishermen itself. Therefore, it needs a special equipment or appropriate technology to overcomes the drawback situation. So that, it will improve the efficiency and effectiveness of fishing operations. The method used in this study is an applied research method which the tool is designed based on real phenomena. Moreover, the outcome is the design of boat transfer device that will be used as an additional supplement to the teaching material of design and product development, industrial management, as well as a scientific publications. The design expected can improve the steep coastal fishermen productivity and welfare.

Abstract

The implementation of science and communities service project is aimed to minimize destitution by implementing self feeding and energy generating village concept. The specific goal of this project is the utilization of cattle dung to produce a biogas. The method is being used for this project is by illuminating and educating the community to be able to build and operate the cattle dung biogas digester by their own. In addition, the community is completely involved to this project since the early state of this project. By implementing the plastic floating digester, it is hoped that the communities be able to utilize the biogas digester and make their own domestic energy. The result of this program is an unit biogas digester by using cow dung as a feed stock. The plastic floating digester can produce a continue biogas as a fuel for cooking. The enthusiasm of the community in term of using and implementing the digester is quite high. It is expected that the community can build and implement the cattle dung digester to produce biogas as a domestic energy.

Abstract

The more demands of the consumers for quality product have made the industry develop product which can satisfy the customers. This study aimed at finding out the design process and the product development which observed the customer’s needs and wants, and developed the initial design to obtain the design which met customer’s wants and needs.This study employed QFD method to identify the Voice of Customers (VoC). VoC was obtained through questionnaire, distibuted to 90 customers from 3 UKMs, i.e. UD Tiga Puteri, and two competitor UKMs, UKM Debu and UKM Mia Bamboo Collection. The questionnare distribution was undertaken to find the lavel of the customer’s interest, so that the UKM needed to develop a new product which met the customers’ satisfaction.From the three studied design, the old design (A) and the two new designs (B and C), the new desigm of chair (C) was the most appealing to the customers, with the average grade of 4.26, and the least appealing was the chair with the design (A) with the average score of 3.54. As for the bamboo chair product development according to the priority for improvement were, respectively, finishing process with priority contribution of 5.7, the strength value with the priority contribution of 2.5, durability with priority contribution of 1.9, and the aspect with the lowest priority value was colour with the score of 0.9.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah sampah rumah tangga di Kecamatan Sambelia, Lombok Timur, menimbulkan berbagai permasalahan lingkungan dan kesehatan masyarakat. Penanganan sampah yang tidak efektif dapat menyebabkan pencemaran, penyebaran penyakit, serta penurunan kualitas hidup. Artikel ini membahas penerapan komposter sebagai solusi untuk mengelola sampah organik rumah tangga dalam mendukung program desa sehat. Kegiatan dilakukan melalui pendekatan partisipatif dengan melibatkan masyarakat setempat dalam pelatihan pembuatan dan penggunaan komposter. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan komposter mampu mengurangi volume sampah rumah tangga hingga 60%, menghasilkan pupuk organik berkualitas tinggi, serta meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah berkelanjutan. Implementasi program ini juga berdampak positif terhadap peningkatan estetika lingkungan dan kesehatan warga. Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini menegaskan bahwa komposter sampah rumah tangga dapat menjadi solusi praktis dan efisien dalam mendukung terciptanya desa sehat dan berkelanjutan di Kecamatan Sambelia.

Abstract

This research aims to redesign an ergonomic tourist boat ladder to improve the comfort and safety of tourists in the context of marine tourism. Tanjung Luar Tourism Village, East Lombok, was chosen as the research location due to the high potential of tourists using boats as a means of transportation to marine tourism destinations. Currently, many tourist boats are not equipped with safe and comfortable stairs, increasing the risk of accidents. The method used in this research is Quality Function Deployment (QFD), which identifies the needs and preferences of tourists through surveys and questionnaires. The research sample consisted of 57 respondents, including tourists, boat crew, and ergonomics experts. The House of Quality (HoQ) results showed that the main needs of tourists include comfortable and safe handrails, anti-slip stair surfaces, and corrosion-resistant stair materials. Based on these needs, three alternative boat ladder designs were developed that consider aspects of safety, durability, and ease of use in marine environmental conditions. Products with ergonomic handrails, stainless steel material, and design flexibility were prioritized in the development. These designs are expected to not only provide a safer and more comfortable solution for users but also contribute to the development of safety standards for tourist boats in Indonesia. This research provides a foundation for the improvement of tourist boat facilities, especially in areas with great potential in marine tourism.

Abstract

Kemiri (Aleurites Moluccana) is a plantation commodity that has the potential to be well developed. This is strongly influenced by the candlenut market which is increasingly open due to the increasing demand for candlenut consumption, both domestically and abroad. The candlenut plant has many benefits, such as being used by people to grow hair, heal skin wounds, diarrhea, asthma and increase analgesic effects. However, the part of the plant that has high economic value is the candlenut seed. The method of implementing activities used to improve the quality of community products in hazelnut oil production uses three methods, namely processing, manufacture or design of packaging and packaging, and marketing. The results of the implementation of community empowerment practical work courses that have been carried out by KKN students in Selengan village try to participate in helping develop candlenut oil products to improve the quality of community products as a source of income in Selengen village.

Abstract

Household waste management is an important aspect of tourism development in Dara Kunci Village, Sambelia District, East Lombok Regency. Although the tourism potential of Dara Kunci Village holds great promise for boosting the local economy, its development is still in its early stages and requires careful preparation. One aspect that needs attention is waste management, which is a crucial factor in maintaining the beauty and cleanliness of tourist environments. Therefore, this activity aims to raise awareness among the community about the importance of waste management, and to introduce and implement a simple yet effective innovation, namely the use of recycled tin can composters, as an initial step in reducing household waste generation. The methods employed involve community awareness campaigns to promote environmental consciousness, training sessions on compost production using recycled tin can composters as a solution for household waste management systems, and providing guidance on compost production at home as a sustainable solution to reduce household waste generation. The results of this activity demonstrate an increase in knowledge and skills among the residents of Dara Kunci Village in managing household waste, resulting in the production of liquid organic fertilizer and compost. Although not all composts meet the desired maturity criteria, this activity provides valuable insights for the community into the composting process and the importance of patience in achieving optimal results

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi pemilihan becak motor sebagai alat transportasi umum di Kota Pasuruan dan penilaian terhadap tingkat keselamatannya. Penelitian menggunakan metode deskriptif kuantitaif dengan analisis regresi linier berganda dan analisis guttman. Hasilnya menunjukkan bahwa aspek kenyamanan dan keselamatan adalah faktor utama pertimbangan masyarakat dalam memilih becak motor. Analisis skala guttman menggambarkan tingkat keselamatan becak motor berada dalam kategori buruk, dengan indeks keselamatan sebesar 39%, dan sebagian besar pernyataan dalam skala guttman menunjukkan hasil negatif dan sebagian besar pernyataan menunjukkan hasil negatif. Observasi lapangan juga menunjukkan bahwa becak motor tidak memenuhi faktor-faktor teknis keselamatan dan dianggap ilegal sebagai angkutan publik. Rekomendasi penelitian mencakup peningkatan sosialisasi keselamatan, peningkatan standar keselamatan, pemeriksaan rutin kendaraan, dan tindakan tegas dari pemerintah untuk memastikan kepatuhan terhadap standar keselamatan dari becak motor. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi pemerintah daerah dan pemangku kepentingan untuk meningkatkan keselamatan dan efisiensi becak motor sebagai transportasi umum.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan kertas bekas sebagai bahan kerajinan di Indonesia, khususnya NTB, masih terbatas dan dilakukan secara tradisional, menyebabkan minat masyarakat menurun. Proses pembuatan bubur kertas yang rumit, memakan waktu, dan kapasitas kecil menjadi hambatan utama. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini, tim pengabdian dari Fakultas Teknik Universitas Mataram bekerja sama dengan The Griya Lombok, sebuah UKM unggulan, untuk mengaplikasikan mesin pembuat bubur kertas. Program ini bertujuan meningkatkan produktivitas dan minat masyarakat terhadap kerajinan berbahan dasar limbah kertas. Metode kegiatan ini ialah pelatihan, praktik langsung, pendampingan, dan diskusi kelompok terarah (FGD) yang dilakukan dalam tiga tahap: persiapan mesin dan materi, pelaksanaan pelatihan penggunaan mesin pembuat bubur kertas, serta evaluasi produktivitas dan minat masyarakat terhadap kerajinan berbahan limbah kertas. Hasil kegiatan ini ialah terciptanya mesin pembuat bubur kertas oleh tim dosen dan mahasiswa bersama mitra nelayan dan UMKM di Ampenan Selatan. Mesin ini mampu meningkatkan produktivitas hingga 900% dibanding metode tradisional. Setelah pelatihan dan pendampingan, minat masyarakat terhadap kerajinan berbahan bubur kertas meningkat signifikan, dengan rata-rata peningkatan 71,53% pada empat aspek utama. Kecepatan proses mencatat peningkatan tertinggi (108,33%). Kegiatan ini berhasil memberikan solusi praktis dalam meningkatkan efisiensi produksi dan potensi ekonomi lokal melalui pemanfaatan limbah kertas sebagai bahan baku kerajinan. Kesimpulan kegiatan ini ialah terjadi peningkatan produktivitas sebesar 900% dan peningkatan minat masyarakat rata-rata 71,53%, dengan produk peserta memenuhi standar serta pelatihan berlangsung antusias dan efektif.
