Abstract

Improving teachers' competence is one of the objectives of the subject teachers' group (MGMP). One important competency that teachers is the ability to publish scientific papers. Statistical data analysis and data visualisation are important components in scientific publications, but these two things are challenging. This program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of teachers who are members of MGMP Biology SMA in Pontianak, in statistical data analysis and data visualisation through training in the use of R and RStudio (Posit). In this course, we delivered presentations and demonstration of the use of R and RStudio. At the end of demonstration activities, each participant carried out independent completion of the use of R and RStudio. This training activity was attended by 16 participants from several high schools in Pontianak. The results showed that there was an increase in the knowledge and skills of the participants based on the results of the pre-test and post-test assessments.

Abstract

Herbal tea is one of the functional drinks, which is consumed for the purpose of preventing or treating disease. The number of side effects that arise from the consumption of drugs made from synthetic or chemical materials has led to a tendency for people to return to consuming herbal plants as a solution to health problems. The purpose of this study is to make tea from the roots of tampala (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) and to test the physical and chemical properties, organoleptic examination and determination of antioxidant activity. Testing of physical and chemical properties including water content, ash content and pH of the preparation, organoleptic examination including taste and odor and color of the brewed solution and determination of antioxidant activity was carried out using the DPPH method (2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazil). The results of the physicochemical test of tampala tea showed that a pH of 6.8, water content of 7.63%, ash content of 7.7%. On organoleptic examination, the tea using the brewed water showed a slightly sour taste, a characteristic wood smell and a brownish yellow color. Based on the physical and chemical character of the tampala herbal tea test results, it meets the requirements of SNI No. 3836 of the 2013 National Standardization Agency, while the antioxidant test results of the tampala herbal tea was obtained an IC50 value (Inhibition Concentration 50) of 89.63 ppm, included in the category of strong antioxidant potential, because it is in the category of strong antioxidant potential. in the range of 50-100 ppm.

Abstract

Abstract

Family Medicinal Plants or can be abbreviated as TOGA is a type of plant that is cultivated in the yard of the house. Cultivated plants not only provide family health but also provide the beauty of the yard. The development of TOGA in Cipta Karya Village which is a tourist village has been socialized but the management and utilization of TOGA has not run optimally. The introduction of medicinal plant species and their use is still largely unknown to the public. The purpose of this community service activity program is to increase the income of family members through a program to utilize family medicinal plants as family herbs. The activities carried out were socialization and demonstrations about the potential and utilization of medicinal plants in the community in Cipta Karya village. Socialization about TOGA in addition to supporting health, also provides environmental beauty, plant conservation and can provide family welfare. The results of this activity indicate an increase in participants' knowledge of plant species that have potential and have medicinal properties and how to make TOGA so that there is an aesthetic and beautiful environment and can improve the family's economyKey word: Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA); Health; Family Economy

Abstract

Rhizophora apiculata is a mangrove species that lives in coastal areas. Differences in zoning will affect the growth of mangroves both morphologically and anatomically. This study aims to determine the morphological and anatomical characteristics of R. apiculata leaves in different zones. The research method used is descriptive method. Zone A is the zone near the sea water and zone B is the zone away from the water. Morphological observations were made directly, while anatomical observations were made through making preparations with the embedding method. Observations of leaf area parameters of R. apiculata in zone A showed a larger leaf area (83.11 ± 6.07cm2) compared to zone B (63.95 ± 8.61cm2). R. apiculata leaves in zone B had a higher number of stomata (24.42±5.60mm2) and stomatal density (124.43±28.43 cells/mm2) than zone A, which had a higher number of stomata (17.44±5.99mm2) and stomatal density (88.87±30.44 cells/mm2). Mesophyll tissue thickness parameters showed no significant difference between zone A and zone B. Parameters of salt glands showed significant differences between zone A and zone B. The results of the study, it can be concluded that differences in mangrove zones provide different responses and adaptations to the morphology and anatomy of R. apiculata leaves.
