Abstract

Siswa adalah individu dengan berbagai keunikan. Keunikan tersebut menjadi sebuah pembeda antara individu yang satu dengan yang lainnya. Jika ditinjau dari aspek psikologi pendidikan,perbedaan individu dapat dikaji dari segi gaya belajarnya. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh bervariatifnya gaya belajar mahasiswa jika ditinjau dari berbagai aspek. Salah satu yang menjadi perhatian adalah gaya belajar mahasiswa jika ditinjau dari segi kunjungan mahasiswa tersebut ke pustaka. Secara umum belum diketahui apa saja tipe gaya belajar mahasiswa yang sering berkunjung ke pustaka. Kebanyakan opini menyatakan bahwa gaya belajar mahasiswa yang sering berkunjung ke pustaka tersebut adalah Theorist. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bagaimana gaya belajar mahasiswa jika ditinjau dari intensitas kunjungan pustaka. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif, dan instrumen yang digunakan untuk mendapatkan data berupa angket. Dari hasil analisis data dapat disimpulkan bahwa persentase siswa dengan klasifikasi pembagian sesuai teori Honey Mumford sebagai berikut : (ACTV: 4,4 %, REFL:44,4%, THEO:13,3%, PRAG:37,8%). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah gaya belajar mahasiswadengan tipe Reflector lebih mendominasi dalam kunjungan ke pustaka jika dibandingkan dengan siswa yang memiliki gaya belajar pragmatis, activist dan theorist.Kata kunci: Pengelompokkkan mahasiswa, Teori Honey Mumford, Kunjungan Pustaka

Abstract

Dalam kegiatan praktikum mahasiswa mengalami kesulitan yang berbeda-beda. Kesulitan ini terkait pengenalan alat-alat praktikum serta cara penggunaan alat-alat tersebut. Oleh karena itu, analisis pengetahuan awal mahasiswa dilakukan sebagai analisis kebutuhan, agar kegiatan praktikum dapat terlaksana dengan baik dan sesuai tujuan praktikum. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kuantitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengetahuan awal mahasiswa teknik mengenai jenis, fungsi, bahan dan cara menggunakan alat praktikum materi koloid dalam perkuliahan kimia dasar mahasiswa teknik. Teknik pengumpul data yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah teknik nontes berupa kuesioner dan pengamatan. Sampel penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa tingkat I FT Universitas Ekasakti dalam perkuliahan Kimia Dasar semester ganjil 2019/2020. Pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling berjumlah 70 orang. Data hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa rata-rata persentase pengetahuan awal mahasiswa untuk pipet tetes 73,57%, gelas kimia 85,01%, tabung reaksi 86,49%, penjepit kayu 88,21%, serta corong pisah 56,78%. Dari data persentase dapat disimpulkan bahwa pengetahuan awal mahasiswa teknik terkait pipet tetes termasuk kategori cukup, pengetahuan mahasiswa terhadap gelas kimia, tabung reaksi, dan penjepit tabung termasuk kategori sangat baik, dan pengetahuan mahasiswa mengenai corong pisah termasuk kategori kurang. Dengan demikian, instruktur perlu membimbing mahasiswa untuk tetap berhati-hati menggunakan peralatan praktikum, terutama dalam menggunakan corong pisah.

Abstract

Many students are constrained in determining the FPB value of two numbers. The use of factor theorem methods has not been effective in helping students solve problems about FPB. Euclid's algorithm comes as a solution to make it easier for students to solve problems about FPB. This study aimed to test the effectiveness of Euclid's algorithm theorem in solving problems about FPB. This type of research is quasi-experimental and involves two classes: the experimental class (the application of Euclid's algorithm theorem) and the control class (using the factor tree method). The sample involved in the study was course V-A and V-B SDN 19 student Nan Sabaris. The instruments used in the study are questionnaires, observation sheets, and essay tests. Data collected in research activities is analyzed with an independent test of t-test samples. Before the data is analyzed, both data groups must first be normally distributed and homogeneous. The results of data analysis both in the form of questionnaire analysis, observation sheet, and analysis of test results showed a significant difference between the solution of FPB problems between experimental classes using Euclid theorems and control classes that use factor tree methods. Euclid's algorithm is a practical, easy-to-understand method, and the user does not take a long time in the process of the problem. The thing to note in applying Euclid's algorithm theorem is the understanding of the principle of division by students. Teachers need to pay attention to the extent of students' knowledge of the division material because this understanding affects students' performance in using Euclid's algorithm theorem to solve problems about FPB.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low mastery of student learning in science learning, especially in light-matter because of the lack of use of learning media that is in accordance with the characteristics of the material in Class V elementary school. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of using Macromedia flash-based electronic learning media on the material properties of light in improving the learning outcomes of fifth-grade elementary school students. Learning outcomes used as research data are limited to the cognitive domain. The material selected in the research was the properties of light. This type of research was quasi-experimental, where the samples taken in research activities were fifth-grade students at SDN 12 Nan Sabaris. The instrument used was a multiple-choice test. The data analysis technique used a t-test. Based on the results of data analysis obtained t-count with a value of 6.91 and t-table with a value of 2.04. This means that there is a significant difference between student learning outcomes before using animation media and student learning outcomes after using animation media. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of e-animation has an effect on student learning outcomes. The use of e-animation can be a new alternative as a solution to improve the quality of learning and student understanding.

Abstract

Critical thinking is the mother of life. Critical thinking skills are one of the fundamental skills in the modern era. This study aims to examine the effect of the guided discovery model on students' critical thinking skills. This study uses an experimental method with a one group pree-test-post-test design with a population of IAIN Batusangkar students taking the sociology of religion course. The sample was determined by random sampling technique with a sample of 28 people. Data were collected using a scale-shaped instrument. Data processing with the help of SPSS .05 application. Prerequisite tests were carried out before data analysis, namely normality test and homogeneity test. Analyzed data using paired sample t test. The results showed the guided discovery model had a significant effect on students' critical thinking skills and it was proven that there was a significant difference between students' critical thinking skills before and after the application of the guided discovery model. The criteria for the significance of the results of the study were strengthened by the N-Gain value the data before and after treatment which was in the very good category.

Abstract

Natural Sciences (IPA) is a science that studies nature along with its contents. IPA becomes one of the compulsory subjects in elementary school. The aim of this study was to describe problems in IPA learning at the elementary school level in terms of child development. This type of research is qualified descriptive. Data collection is carried out by methods of observation in schools and analyzing the relationship of findings with literature studies based on expert theories and previous research. The results of information analysis and research findings are strengthened by providing recommendations for solutions in problem solving, namely the design of a relevant learning model to be applied in IPA learning in elementary school. The results of this study are expected to provide contributions and be used as a reference in the development and strengthening of the quality in IPA learning at elementary schools level. To develop a learning model which can improve the quality of IPA learning, instructional design teachers/designers can pay attention to the main problems found in this study.

Abstract

The guidance of career counseling can lead, provide insight and knowledge about the world of work and current issues in facing competition in the world of work. The magnitude of the impact caused by the counseling career counseling program, making the educational policy stakeholders at a university institution consider the implementation of guidance services to prospective graduates who will compete in the world of work. This type of research is descriptive qualitative and aims to describe the results of the analysis of educational policies that have been taken by several universities regarding career counseling guidance services. The sample universities taken in the research activity were : IAIN Batusangkar, STKIP PGRI Sumatera Barat, Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan, Institut Pendidikan Tapanuli Selatan, UIN Imam Bonjol Padang, Universitas Negeri Padang, dan Universitas Putra Indonesia YPTK Padang. The instrument for collecting research data is in the form of a questionnaire which is distributed to the leaders and officials of study programs, departments, faculties, and universities/colleges. The results of this study include: report on career counseling guidance policy at the host institution, obstacles faced by the organizer, service impact for graduates, and evaluation of career counseling guidance policy. Based on the analysis that has been done, the counseling guidance program is feasible to be applied by every university in order to create a successful alumni career in the future. Therefore, the leadership and all levels of higher education can work together to create a policy for career counseling guidance services at the university level.

Abstract

Changes in human needs in recent years have been influenced by the rapid development of technology and information delivery. The widespread use of smartphones by individuals in the community is one of the real forms of changing human needs due to the rapid development of technology and information. Based on the survey, 99.2% of students are active users of smartphones. This proves the high consumptive power among students towards the smart phone. This condition is undeniable because of the many features offered by smartphones in facilitating the academic activities of every student, ranging from task searches to sharing information and communicating with all people in the campus world. Communication and information sharing can be done using several applications including: BlackBerry Mesangger (BBM, WhatsApp (WA), Line, Telegram, Email, Twitter, Facebook (FB) etc. Based on the questionnaire that has been distributed, 96.4% of students choose WA as an application that is most often used to communicate and share academic information, followed by the second place is BBM with a percentage of 0.79% of users.This finding is a clear evidence that there has been a significant shift and changes in the number of users from BBM to WA, especially for Millennials like students, supported by a number of reasons including sophisticated protection features, practicality of use and completeness of WA features that make it increasingly excellent and increasingly popular among students.Based on the findings obtained during the research activities, it can be concluded that whatsapp application is the most popular application which is used seb communication media and sharing of student academic information.

Abstract

School paradigm today is not only about transmite of information, but how to change the habit of learning process being active and autonomous. Many theoris of learning process in education context was develop, such as: behaviorisme learning theory, cognitivisme learning theory, constructivisme and humanisme learning theory. If we look educational concept in social context, teacher and all learning environment use humanisme as learning theory. For this adherent, learning process must refer to human/individualistic. Honey Mumford devide students by learning process as four group, are: activist, theorist, pragmatist and reflector. Reflector is one of Honey Mumford theory and ussually the students with this type have carefully to get a conclusion and need many information to support their concept. A research show if reflector is the dominant group to visit the library every time. Based on this research, the organizer of library must understand about their habit and know their necessity to learn.

Abstract

Learning at the Elementary School level is dominated by information gathering activities to build students' knowledge. The concept of learning is related to constructivist learning theory and requires students to have a high reading interest. Based on interviews with SDN teachers 19 Nan Sabaris revealed the findings that students' reading interest was still low, this was confirmed by the fact that the learning methods that were often used were lectures. The purpose of this study was to see the effect of using the Play-Think-Pair-Share model to increase students' reading interest. This type of research is quasi-experimental, with a sample of fifth grade students at SDN 19 Nan Sabaris in the 2018/2019 school year. The data collection instrument used is the student interest reading assessment sheet, with the data analysis technique chosen is paired sample t-test. Based on the results of data analysis it was found that the sig 2.tailed value was 0.0000 smaller than the value of ? = 0.05, so it can be concluded that there were significant differences in reading interest between before and after the use of Play-Think-Pair-Share models in elementary school learning.
