Abstract

ABSTRACT Stunting is a chronic nutritional problem that has serious implications for health outcomes and human resource quality. One of the main challenges in stunting prevention at the village level is the limited system for recording, monitoring, and disseminating maternal and child health information, which is still predominantly conducted manually. This Community Service Program (Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat/PKM) aimed to enhance the capacity of Posyandu cadres in stunting monitoring through the implementation of the LARASKIA application (Stunting Recording and Maternal and Child Health Information Service) in Bogangin Village, Banyumas Regency. The program employed socialization, application usage training, mentoring, and evaluation as its implementation methods. The results demonstrated that the application of LARASKIA significantly improved the knowledge and skills of Posyandu cadres in recording toddlers’ nutritional status, monitoring maternal and child health, and delivering health information in a more effective and systematic manner. This program contributes to strengthening digital-based stunting prevention efforts at the village level. Keywords: Stunting, LARASKIA, Posyandu Cadres, Maternal and Child Health, Digital Health.  ABSTRAK Stunting merupakan permasalahan gizi kronis yang berdampak serius terhadap kualitas kesehatan dan sumber daya manusia. Salah satu kendala utama dalam upaya pencegahan stunting di tingkat desa adalah keterbatasan sistem pencatatan, pemantauan, dan penyampaian informasi kesehatan ibu dan anak yang masih dilakukan secara manual. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PKM) ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas kader Posyandu dalam pemantauan stunting melalui penerapan aplikasi LARASKIA (Layanan Rekam Stunting dan Informasi Kesehatan Ibu dan Anak) di Desa Bogangin, Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan penggunaan aplikasi, pendampingan, serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa penerapan aplikasi LARASKIA mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan kader Posyandu dalam pencatatan status gizi balita, pemantauan kesehatan ibu dan anak, serta penyampaian informasi kesehatan secara lebih efektif dan sistematis. Program ini berkontribusi dalam mendukung upaya pencegahan stunting berbasis digital di tingkat des Kata Kunci: Stunting, LARASKIA, Kader Posyandu, Kesehatan Ibu Dan Anak, Digital Health.

Abstract

Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam leaves are recognized as a promising source of bioactive compounds with potential antidiabetic activity. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of vacuum liquid chromatography (VLC) fractionation on the distribution of phenolic and flavonoid compounds and their α-glucosidase inhibitory activity. Crude ethanolic extract was fractionated by VLC into polar, semipolar, and nonpolar fractions. Total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) were determined using the Folin–Ciocalteu and aluminum chloride colorimetric assays, respectively, while α-glucosidase inhibitory activity was evaluated using a p-nitrophenyl-α-D-glucopyranoside-based assay. The crude extract exhibited the highest TPC (4.70 ± 0.37 mg GAE/g extract) and TFC (5.63 ± 0.11 mg QE/g extract), whereas both parameters decreased markedly after fractionation. Consistently, the crude extract showed the strongest α-glucosidase inhibitory activity, as indicated by the lowest IC₅₀ value, while the nonpolar fraction exhibited the weakest activity. These findings demonstrate that VLC fractionation redistributed rather than enhanced the bioactive constituents responsible for α-glucosidase inhibition. The crude extract therefore represents a promising natural source of α-glucosidase inhibitors and supports the potential utilization of Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam for the development of plant-derived antidiabetic agents.

Abstract

Oxidative stress caused by the accumulation of free radicals is a key factor in the development of degenerative diseases. Jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus), which are rich in polyphenolic compounds, have the potential as natural antioxidants. This study aims to activate the antioxidant activity of jackfruit leaf extracts and fractions. The study was conducted by extraction using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent and fractionated by vacuum liquid chromatography into polar, semi-polar and non-polar fractions. Antioxidant activity was measured in vitro, using 3 methods including DPPH, ABTS and FRAP which were read with an ELISA Reader with vitamin C as the reference standard. The results showed that the crude extract had strong antioxidant activity with an IC₅₀ value of 31.93 µg/mL (DPPH) and 29.59 µg/mL (ABTS), as well as the highest antioxidant equivalent ascorbic acid (AEAC) levels in the FRAP test. The polar fraction showed moderate antioxidant activity, while the semi-polar and non-polar fractions showed weak activity. These findings suggest that polar compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics play a role in the antioxidant effects of jackfruit leaves. In conclusion, jackfruit leaf extract and its polar fractions have significant antioxidant activity and show promise for further development as natural antioxidant agents in nutraceutical formulations aimed at preventing oxidative stress-related diseases.
