Abstract

Kedelai hitam (Glycine max) merupakan sumber antioksidan alami yang kaya akan senyawa bioaktif. Literatur review ini mengkaji aktivitas antioksidan, senyawa kimia, dan metode analisis antioksidan kedelai hitam. Artikel dipilih berdasarkan beberapa kriteria inklusi yang sudah ditetapkan, di antaranya artikel yang akan dikaji dibatasi dalam rentang tahun 2014 sampai 2024 dengan menggunakan kata kunci “antioksidan kedelai hitam”, “aktivitas antioksidan kedelai hitam”, “antioksidan dan kedelai hitam”, “antioxidant activity of black soybean”, dan “antioxidant and black soybean”, artikel harus menggunakan Bahasa Indonesia atau Bahasa Inggris, artikel diakses secara full text, dan artikel harus merupakan research article. Hasil kajian literatur menunjukkan bahwa biji kedelai berkulit hitam memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan biji kedelai dengan warna kulit lain. Kedelai hitam mengandung antosianin, flavan-3-ol, dan senyawa aktif lainnya yang berkontribusi pada aktivitas antioksidan. Berdasarkan pengkajian literatur, metode analisis aktivitas antioksidan kedelai hitam meliputi ABTS, DPPH, FRAP, H-ORAC, dan ORAC.

Abstract

Antioksidan didefinisikan sebagai zat alami maupun zat sintetis yang dapat melindungi sel karena proses oksidasi. Antioksidan alami yang didapat dari alam yaitu akar bajakah (Spatholobus littoralis Hassk) diteliti dengan uji aktifitas antioksidan DPPH secara in vitro memiliki potensi antioksidan yang kuat. Induksi aloksan bertujuan untuk membuat hewan uji stres oksidatif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kandungan fitokimia pada ekstrak etanol akar bajakah (EEAB) dan membuktikan aktivitas EEAB secara in vivo dengan parameter kadar malondialdehid (MDA) pada hati dan plasma darah tikus aloksan. Akar bajakah diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi dengan pelarut etanol 96% selama 3 hari. Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 30 ekor tikus yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok yaitu kontrol normal, kontrol positif Vitamin C, kelompok 4-6 berturut-turut diberikan EEAB dosis 50, 100, 200 mg/kgBB. Induksi aloksan dilakukan secara intraperitonial. Perlakuan dilakukan selama 9 hari. Pengambilan sampel darah sebelum perlakuan sebagai baseline, setelah induksi aloksan, dan pada hari ke 3, 6, dan 9. Pada hari terakhir perlakuan tikus diterminasi, menunjukkan bahwa hasil uji skrining fitokimia EEAB mengandung senyawa saponin, fenolik, flavonoid, terpenoid, dan steroid. Dari hasil uji penelitian menunjukkan EEAB positif senyawa saponin, fenolik, flavonoid, dan terpenoid dan memiliki potensi antioksidan pada dosis 200mg/KgBB.

Abstract

Oxidative stress caused by the accumulation of free radicals is a key factor in the development of degenerative diseases. Jackfruit leaves (Artocarpus heterophyllus), which are rich in polyphenolic compounds, have the potential as natural antioxidants. This study aims to activate the antioxidant activity of jackfruit leaf extracts and fractions. The study was conducted by extraction using the maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent and fractionated by vacuum liquid chromatography into polar, semi-polar and non-polar fractions. Antioxidant activity was measured in vitro, using 3 methods including DPPH, ABTS and FRAP which were read with an ELISA Reader with vitamin C as the reference standard. The results showed that the crude extract had strong antioxidant activity with an IC₅₀ value of 31.93 µg/mL (DPPH) and 29.59 µg/mL (ABTS), as well as the highest antioxidant equivalent ascorbic acid (AEAC) levels in the FRAP test. The polar fraction showed moderate antioxidant activity, while the semi-polar and non-polar fractions showed weak activity. These findings suggest that polar compounds such as flavonoids and phenolics play a role in the antioxidant effects of jackfruit leaves. In conclusion, jackfruit leaf extract and its polar fractions have significant antioxidant activity and show promise for further development as natural antioxidant agents in nutraceutical formulations aimed at preventing oxidative stress-related diseases.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a chronic (non-communicable) disease whose prevalence is currently increasing. Public awareness of the importance of early detection and prevention of diabetes is still relatively low, because this disease is sometimes asymptomatic. Various efforts to prevent and treat DM continue to be developed, including through public education. This activity aims to increase public knowledge about diabetes and the use of natural ingredients as antidiabetics. Car-free day Colomadu was chosen as a strategic location to reach the community by providing accessible health education. This activity is a collaboration between the UMS Faculty of Pharmacy and the Aisyiyah Colomadu Branch Management. The method used is to detect diabetes through blood sugar level checks and education about diabetes, which is done by providing leaflets. The level of knowledge is measured by comparing the pretest and posttest. A total of 19 respondents met the inclusion criteria: visitors to the Colomadu car-free day, had had a blood sugar level check, were willing to fill out a questionnaire, and had a history of education/work not in the health sector. Based on the results of statistical tests, there was a significant increase in knowledge about diabetes (p<0.001) with a pretest value (72.11) in the sufficient category and a posttest value (78.95) in the good category. Based on this, education using this leaflet can increase public knowledge about diabetes. Still, it is recommended that other educational methods, such as counseling accompanied by questions and answers, be used to optimize the results.

Abstract

Gangguan penglihatan merupakan masalah kesehatan mata yang dapat mempengaruhi produktivitas dan kualitas hidup penderitanya. Rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat terhadap pemeriksaan dan pencegahan gangguan mata menyebabkan tingginya prevalensi kelainan refraksi dan katarak di Indonesia. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi dan kesadaran pentingnya kesehatan mata masyarakat melalui edukasi langsung di ruang publik seperti Car-Free Day (CFD). Kegiatan dilaksanakan pada 23 Februari 2025 dengan metode penyuluhan langsung dan pembagian leaflet informatif pada peserta pemeriksaan gula darah, asam urat, dan/atau kolesterol di CFD Colomadu, Karanganyar, Jawa Tengah. Materi edukasi mencakup macam-macam penyakit mata, tips menjaga kesehatan mata, serta tips untuk menghindari mata lelah. Peserta memberikan respon yang positif dan beberapa belum pernah memperoleh informasi serupa dan tertarik untuk mulai menjaga kesehatan matanya. Aktivitas ini mengindikasikan bahwa pendekatan edukatif berbasis komunitas di ruang publik dapat secara efektif menjangkau kelompok sasaran yang lebih luas. CFD menjadi sarana yang berpotensi untuk intervensi promotif-preventif yang hingga kini belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal dalam isu kesehatan mata. Pendidikan yang sederhana, komunikatif, dan mudah dipahami terbukti dapat menumbuhkan kesadaran baru dalam masyarakat.

Abstract

Kesehatan merupakan salah satu kebutuhan penting setiap orang karena dengan tercapaianya kesehatan akan memungkinakan terlaksananya kegiatan atau aktifitas yang lain. Kesehatan merupakan hak setiap orang dengan tidak mengenal tingkat ekonomi seseorang. Ekonomi yang minim diprediksi menjadi salah satu hambatan dalam mendapatkan kesehatan yang maksimal. Peran tenaga kesehatan sangat diperlukan dalam mambantu pasien mendapatkan kesehatan yang optimal. Salah satu kegiatan yang dapat membantu masyarakat terutama dengan ekonomi yang minim adalah pengobatan gratis. Pengobatan gratis yang merupakan salah satu kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat telah dilakukan di balai desa Potronayan kecamatan Nogosari, kabupaten Boyolali pada ahad 31 Juli 2022. Selain pengobatan gratis, kegiatan yang lain adalah pemeriksaan tanda-tanda vital, pelayanan obat dan konseling obat serta pelayanan gizi. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 105 pasien. Pasien kebanyakan adalah wanita (73,3%) dengan usia terbanyak adalah antara 51 tahun sampai 60 tahun sebanyak 32,38%.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a metabolic disease that causes hyperglycemia due to impaired insulin function (insulin resistance). The use of glibenclamide has side effects in the form of hypoglycemic and weight gain. This study aims to determine the activity of a combination of 70% ethanol extract of meniran leaves (EEDM) and glibenclamide in reducing blood glucose and body weight of rats against the use of single glibenclamide. A completely randomized design method was used involving 28 rats divided into 7 groups. Normal control (KN) was given distilled water; negative control (K(-)) was given distilled water; positive control (K(+)) was given glibenclamide 1 mg/kgBW, EEDM treatment group doses of 5; 10; 20 mg/kgBB and a combination group of glibenclamide and EEDM 5 mg/kgBB. Alloxan 150 mg/kgBW intraperitoneally (ip) and 30% glucose solution orally were used to induce the hyperglycemic rat model. Blood sugar levels and body weight were checked on days: 0, 7, 14 after treatment. Based on the results of statistical tests showed that EEDM all doses and combinations have antidiabetic activity (p<0.05). The use of a combination of glibenclamide 1 mg/kgBB and ethanol extract of meniran leaves 5 mg/kgBB can also overcome the side effects of weight gain from the use of glibenclamide alone.

Abstract

Antioxidants play an active role and are responsible for counteracting free radicals in the body through the process of inhibiting oxidation reactions. Secondary metabolite compounds of phenolic and flavonoid groups are compounds that are widely found in Annona muricata plants that have potential as antioxidants. The purpose of this study was to determine the antioxidant activity of soursop (Annona muricata) leaves using two methods, namely Ferric Reduction Antioxidant Power (FRAP) and 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH). The extraction method used is maceration method with 70% ethanol solvent, then fractionation using liquid-liquid extraction method, antioxidant test using DPPH and FRAP methods with measurement of levels using UV-Vis spectrophotometry. From the results of maceration, the yield of ethanol extract was 21% from 500 g dry simplisia of soursop leaves and the yield of ethyl acetate fraction was 32.78% from 50 g thick ethanol extract. The results of antioxidant activity test by FRAP method on ethanol extract and ethyl acetate fraction samples were 7.790 and 10.026 mgAAE/g, respectively. Both samples showed very strong antioxidant activity. In DPPH method, ethanol extract showed strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 63.947 µg/mL and ethyl acetate fraction showed very strong antioxidant activity with IC50 value of 6.702 µg/mL. From the results, it can be concluded that the ethyl acetate fraction showed very strong antioxidant activity in the DPPH and FRAP test methods, while the ethanol extract showed very strong antioxidant activity in the FRAP test method and strong antioxidant activity in the DPPH test method.

Abstract

Daun talok (Muntingia calabura L.) dengan kandungan flavonoid memiliki aktivitas antioksidan sehingga berpotensi dikembangkan sebagai pengobatan alternatif dan agen imunostimulan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas imunomodulator ekstrak etanol 70% daun talok (EEDT) terhadap respon imun non spesifik. Penelitian eksperimental dengan  rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan variabel bebas peringkat dosis EEDT 50, 100 dan 200 mg/kgBB selama 7 hari secara peroral. Uji respon imun non spesifik ini menggunakan metode bersihan karbon dan indeks organ limfoid yang dilakukan pada mencit. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji parametrik one way ANOVA untuk indeks fagositik dan indeks organ limfoid. Hasil uji bersihan karbon menunjukkan bahwa EEDT dosis 50 mg/kgBB tidak berefek imunostimulan dengan indeks fagositik 1,165; dosis 100 mg/kgBB bersifat imunostimulan sedang dengan indeks fagositik 1,311; sedangkan EEDT dosis 200 mg/kgBB bersifat imunostimulan kuat dengan indeks fagositik 2,839. Peningkatan bobot limpa pada hasil uji indeks organ limfoid menunjukkan adanya efek ekstrak etanol 70% daun talok terhadap aktivitas imunostimulan. Hasil skrining fitokimia EEDT terbukti mengandung senyawa golongan alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, tanin dan steroid. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapat maka disimpulkan bahwa pemberian EEDT 100 dan 200 mg/kgBB selama 7 hari menunjukkan aktivitas imunostimulan.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to investigate the anti-inflammatory effect of ethyl acetate fraction of ethanol extract of Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. The research used pre and post test with control group design. A number 25 white rats wistar strain were devided into 5 groups. Group 1 was treated by Diclofenac sodium at dose of 50mg/kgbw; group 2 was treated by Aqueous 2 mL/rats; group 3, 4 and 5 were treated by ethyl acetate fraction of ethanol extract of Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk. (EAGU) at dosage of 250; 500 and 1000 mg/kgbw respectively. After treated, volume of rats’s right paw was measured by plethysmometer for 330minutes. The compound of ethyl acetate fraction of ethanol extract of Guazuma ulmifolia Lamk was analyzed by phytochemicals analysis. The EAGU at dosage of 1000 mg/kgbw can reduce edema volume at minutes 60 and minutes 90 significantly (by anova P. <0.05). The phytochemical compounds of EAGU are alkaloid, flavonoid, tannin, saponin and triterpen.
