Abstract

This research aims to test area learning model of connectivism based in art and craft learning to improve social and metacognitive skills in second grade of elementary school students. This learning model is a learning model that gives students the freedom to choose learning activities in the area they interest (learning area). It consists of drawing, shaping, and craft areas. By starting to read material and to select material are activities to select the learning area. Moreover, for work appreciation activities use IT as a basis for connectivism. This learning model is one of the solutions to overcome the problems of learning which is monotonous manner. It tends to be a large amount of intervention in students’ work processes, which makes them to be less able to develop their social and metacognitive skills. After the treatment was carried out on the students, the results on the social skills variable obtained the calculation data using the N-gain score with the criteria: 0.63 (N-Gain score 0.3 < N-gain < 0.7, included in the medium category), whereas if N-Gain score > 0.7 (High category). The results obtained from the combination of the pretest-posttest scores on the aspect of social skills were classified as high criteria for 22 students, while at a moderate increase of 2 students, the metacognitive data obtained test data 1 and test 2 on pre-test scores and post-test scores on improvement moderate as many as 3, while in the high improvement category there were 21 students out of 24 students.

Abstract

The development of the Smart Society 5.0 era requires learning innovations that are able to integrate information and communication technology (ICT) into the educational process effectively and ethically. This study aims to analyze the potential and relevance of interactive multimedia flowcharts assisted by AI Chatbots in improving students' self-regulated learning (SRL) skills. This paper uses an analytical literature review approach with two main focuses: (1) defining the concept of interactive multimedia flowcharts assisted by AI chatbots, and (2) examining its influence on students' SRL skills. Data was obtained from various credible scientific sources such as Springer, Taylor & Francis, MDPI, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar. The results of the study show that interactive flowcharts function as visual tools that help students formulate their thoughts systematically, while AI chatbots act as learning partners that provide personalized and real-time feedback. The combination of the two results in an interactive learning environment that can stimulate student planning, supervision, and self-reflection as the core of the SRL process. Conceptually, the synergy between interactive multimedia design and artificial intelligence is able to strengthen the cognitive, metacognitive, and motivational dimensions of students. Thus, this innovation has the potential to become a digital learning model that supports the development of learning independence, critical thinking, and lifelong learning in the context of higher education in the digital era.

Abstract

The purpose of the hypercontent e-module research was to improve critical thinking skills and the ability to compile assessment reports. The research method used the ADDIE model. The research subjects were 24 students. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observations. Data analysis techniques used descriptive statistical data. The results of the study: (1) the validity results carried out by learning design experts were 97% feasibility percentage, material experts were 100% feasibility percentage, and media experts were 100%. The hypercontent e-module had a very high feasibility percentage of 95%-100%; (2) critical thinking results of the pretest t-test, obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.190 > 0.05, which indicates that there was no significant difference between the critical thinking abilities of students in the experimental class and the control class before being given treatment. This finding indicates that the initial critical thinking abilities of students in both classes are at a relatively similar level; (3) compiling a child development assessment report, results of the pretest t-test, obtained a Sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.620 > 0.05, which indicates that there was no significant difference between the abilities of students in compiling a child development assessment report in the experimental class and the control class before being given treatment. Conclusion: The hypercontent e-module for developmental assessment was a very suitable, relevant, and effective medium for improving critical thinking and the ability to compile child developmental assessments.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop and evaluate Vocational English Academy (Vocademy), a specialized mobile learning application designed to significantly enhance the critical reading skills of vocational students in the context of English for Engineering at SMKN 1 Nganjuk. We employed the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) coupled with a mixed-method approach, integrating a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design with descriptive qualitative analysis. The research participants comprised 72 tenth-grade students, evenly selected from the Geomatics and Mechanical Engineering programs based on their needs and accessibility. Data collection relied on comprehensive instruments, including expert validation sheets, a robust critical reading assessment (pre-test and post-test), and a student feedback survey. The development phase confirmed Vocademy’s quality; expert validation results showed exceptionally high validity and feasibility, boasting an average score of 89%. Following the intervention, quantitative analysis using a paired-sample t-test revealed a statistically significant improvement in students' critical reading skills (p < 0.05). The magnitude of this improvement was quantified by an N-Gain value of 0.464 (Medium Category), indicating strong instructional effectiveness. In conclusion, Vocademy has successfully proven its capability to elevate vocational English language education by effectively fostering high-level critical analysis and contextual comprehension of intricate technical documents. This positions the application as a highly relevant and innovative digital platform, essential for preparing graduates to meet the complex literacy demands of the Industry 5.0 era.
