<![CDATA[Model pembelajaran kooperatif merupakan salah satu model pembelajaran yang dapat dijadikan pilihan pilihan bagi pendidik dari mulai jenjang pendidikan dasar sampai pendidikan tinggi karena dianggap dapat mendukung pembelajaran kontekstual yang menarik dan kreatif. Pelatihan Penggunaan Model Pembelajaran Kooperatif ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para guru SD Taman Cahaya Siantar dalam mendisain dan mempersiapkan proses pembelajaran yang kreatif, menarik dan berpusat pada siswa. Kegiatan pengabdian ini menggunakan metode pelatihan yang dibagi menjadi tiga bagian kegiatan yaitu eksplorasi, elaborasi, dan konfirmasi. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan ini dapat meningkatkan kemampuan guru dalam mempersiapkan proses pembelajaran secara kreatif. Selain itu juga antusias dan minat peserta dalam kegiatan ini sangat tinggi terlihat dari hasil angket tanggapan mitra diperoleh 80% dari seluruh jumlah peserta sangat setuju dan tertarik untuk dilibatkan kembali pada kegiatan yang sama dimasa mendatang. Diharapkan kepada mitra untuk dapat secara berkesinambungan melaksanakan pelatihan – pelatihan peningkatan kualitas pengajaran guru untuk peningkatan kualitas hasil belajar siswa. <![CDATA[Language learning is very important for human’s social development. As a language which is used by more than a half of population in the world, English hold the key as international language. English is a tool of communication among peoples of the world to get trade, social-cultural, science, and technology goals. Moreover, English competence is important in career development, therefore students need to understand and use English to improve their confidence to face global competition. The purpose of teaching writing is to value and improve the skills of writing from the students. The population of this research will be 2014/2015of the eight year students of SMP Al Maksum Stabat. It consist of 30 students, 16 boys and 14 girl. Their age about 14-16 years old. Because the total of the students is less than 100, it is better to take the population as a sample. There are significant differences before and after the students get treatment. For the 30 students, 21 students get the result more than 75 point. It means that 80 percent of the students get more ability in writing after get the treatment. Keywords: writing skill, worksheet]]>

<![CDATA[This study aimed to investigate the effect of the Student Team Achievement Divisions (STAD) Technique on the speaking skill of Grade XII Students of SMA N. 1 Brandan Barat and the students’ perceptions toward the implementation of the STAD technique in teaching speaking. An experimental design with instruments of tests and questionnaires to collect the data was applied in this study. A random sampling technique of 60 students of grade XII of SMA N.1 Brandan Barat academic year 2021/2022 was taken as two sample classes. One class of 30 students was an experimental group (XII IPS1) and another one of 30 students was appointed as a control group (XII IPS2). The STAD technique was applied in the experimental group while the conventional method was applied in the control group. From the data analysis, it was found that the STAD technique positively affected the students' speaking skills with the Tcount score 3,443 was greater than the ttable score 2,048 (3,443 > 2,048) with a significance level of sig 0,001 < 0.05. (5 percent) then it can be argued that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted or It can be concluded that the STAD technique affected a better student's performance in speaking. STAD technique implementation was found to be in the good category with a level of 86,21 percent, indicating that STAD technique had a positive effect on students' perspective. <![CDATA[Departing from systemic functional linguistics theory, this study is aimed at analyzing textual function found in physics text entitled “Energy Can Neither Be Created Nor Destroyed” . This study used descriptive qualitative method. The data were in the form of clauses totaling to 28 clauses from 8 paragraphs. From the result of the analysis, it was found that marked and unmarked Theme were realized in the data. Then, the dominant Theme found which reaches 20 Themes from the 28 Themes found or it is equal to 71,42%. It can be interpreted that the text use common structure in the clause.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract This study aims at earmarking some related issues regarding the teaching of English language to francophone pupils by francophone teachers. As regard the theoretical framework, the connectionism, acculturation and teaching-learning theories was used. The methodology in this study is the quantitative and qualitative approach and the random sampling technique is used in the selection of the population under study. The research instruments that are used are the interview and observation. The instruments were administered taking into consideration the pronunciation of sounds (phonology) pluralisation of nouns, sentence construction, the use of articles and tenses (morpho-syntax). A total of 73 teachers from six primary schools were interviewed and observed. The frequency distribution technique is used for analyzing data. Analyzing the data collected proves that the francophone teachers have difficulties in pronouncing some sounds in the English language. The teachers equally have difficulties in putting some nouns in their plural forms, constructing of sentences and correct use of articles and tenses. From the findings, the researcher made some recommendations. That a solid foundation should be laid during the initial training on the teaching of the English language. Secondly, in-service training should be encouraged for teachers already in the field. The researcher also suggested that Pedagogic Inspectors in charge of bilingualism should organize regular pedagogic seminar on English language for the francophone teachers. <![CDATA[Pendidikan merupakan aset penting bagi kemajuan sebuah bangsa, oleh karena itu setiap warga negara harus dan wajib mengikuti jenjang pendidikan, baik jenjang pendidikan anak usia dini, pendidikan dasar, pendidikan menengah maupun tinggi. Penguasaan bahasa inggris merupakan salah satu langkah dalam memajukan sebuah bangsa. Bahasa Inggris adalah bahasa internasional di era globalisasi saat ini. Bahasa Inggris penting untuk dipelajari karena digunakan sebagai alat komunikasi internasional. Sebagai bahasa pengantar internasional, Bahasa Inggris hendaklah diajarkan kepada anak-anak sedini mungkin, agar mereka mampu bersaing di Era Kemajuan teknnologi yang sangat cepat seperti saat ini. Pemerataan pendidikan harus merata di tingkat perkotaan dan pedesaan. Sering kali terjadi ketimpangan didalamnya, terutama pada pedesaan yang sering terlambat atau bahkan tindak mendapat pendidikan yang layak setingkat dengan perkotaan, beberapa desa di kabupaten langkat mengalaminya, salah satunya desa Telaga Jernih kecamatan secanggang. Kondisi daerah yang cukup jauh menuju kota dan kendaraan umum yang jarang dan tidak ada bagi mereka yang tinggal sedikit lebih kedalam didaerah perkebunan dan pesisir pantai, terkadang mempengaruhi semangat dan minat belajar mereka. Kegiatan ‘English for kids’ adalah bermain sambil belajar untuk meningkatkan minat dan dan semangat anak anak tingkat sekolah dasar yang ada di desa tersebut dalam pelajaran bahasa inggris, para siswa merasa senang dan mudah memahami materi pelajaran pada mata pelajaran Bahasa inggris. Program ini sangat membantu mereka dalam keberanian untuk berbicara dalam kegiatan keseharian mereka, ditambah lagi saat ini mereka mendapat banyak tambahan vocabulary baru membuat belajar semakin menyenangkan.]]>

<![CDATA[In an era of increasingly advanced globalization, the ability to speak English is essential to keep up with the changing times. This study was to analyze the correlation between students' vocabulary mastery and speaking skills of grade eight students at MTs Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura. The sample of this study was 15 students of class VIII B which were taken by using a purposive sampling technique. This study was a correlational method in a quantitative design by using correlation statistical tests to describe and measure between two or more variables. The Correlation Product Moment formula using SPSS was used to determine if there is a correlation and degree of correlation between English vocabulary mastery and speaking skills. From the data analysis it was found that there was a correlation between vocabulary mastery and speaking skill of grade eight students of MTs Negeri 1 Tanjung Pura with the level correlation value was 0,559 or 55,90 % or on the level of “Fair” Correlation. <![CDATA[Teaching EFL students are both challenging and demanding as English is neither the students’ mother tongue nor their second language. Therefore, it is essentially required to select an effective way or technique in achieving the objectives of the lesson. This study was aimed to investigate the use of sequence picture technique and its effectiveness in teaching EFL students how to write a procedure text. This study was conducted by using quantitative research with one group pretest-posttest design at Universitas Prima Indonesia. The steps involve administering pretest measuring the dependent variable, applying the experimental treatment X to the subjects; and administering a posttest again measuring the dependent variable. There were 40 students taken as the subject of the study. The data were collected through a pretest and a posttest. The result on this study showed that the students’ responses and performances were improved. It can be seen from the finding which showed that students’ percentage in using the language components such as grammar, sequence words, commands or imperative sentences, and adverbial phrases accurately. The result of the questionnaire also showed that the students considered sequence picture technique was effective in helping them write procedure text correctly. <![CDATA[ABSTRACT This study used a hybrid methodology that combined quantitative and qualitative techniques. This study aimed to find out whether Total Physical Response (TPR) method significantly affects the students' vocabulary for second graders of MTs TPI Sawit Seberang. There were two classes were chosen as the sample of this study where class VIII B was the experimental group and VIII A was the control group which consists of 25 students in each group. A quasi-experimental design was employed by giving pre-test and post-tests to the two groups (control and experiment) where the treatment using TPR method was given to the experimental group, while the control group was taught by the traditional method. The results of this study showed that the significance score was 0,000 which means < 0.05. It means that Ho was rejected and Ha was accepted. It can be concluded that Total Physical Response (TPR) method significantly affects the students' vocabulary mastery of second graders of MTs TPI Sawit Seberang. The results of observational research also showed that the assessment of this method's benefits in lowering pressure and stress for students. <![CDATA[The objective of this research was to determine whether the Round Robin technique significantly affects students’ vocabulary mastery for the second graders of SMK AL Maksum Langkat. A quasi-experimental research design was used in this study. There were 51 students taken as sample by using purposive sampling technique from 116 populations of second graders of SMK AL Maksum Langkat. There were 28 students from class XI OTKP as a control class, and 23 students from class XI as an experimental class. There were six meetings conducted by the researcher which consisted of one meeting for pre-test, four meetings for treatments, and one meeting for the post-test. The Round Robin technique was applied to the experimental class and the conventional technique was applied in the control class. From the analysis of the data by using Independent Sample T-test in SPSS 25.00 it was found that the data were in normal distribution and had the same variance or homogenous. The result of the hypothesis test showed that the students’ mean score of pre-test was lower than the post-test (79,30 > 53,11) and the Sig. (p value) < ? = 0.05 (0,000 < 0,05), it can be said that H0 was rejected and Ha was accepted. it can be concluded that there was a significant effect of using the Round Robin technique on students’ vocabulary mastery in the second graders of SMK AL Maksum Langkat.]]>
