Abstract

This study deals with the maintenance of bahasa Banjar in Langkat. It employs qualitative research design. This study aims to describe the maintenance of bahasa Banjar in Langkat. The subjects were twenty Banjarnese speakers in Langkat. The instruments used for this study were observation, questionnaire, and interview (in-depth interview). The observation was applied to get the data about the Banjarnese speakers in maintaining their language such what the language that they used in daily communication. Questionnaire was applied to collect the data about the factors which support bahasa Banjar maintenance in Langkat and interview was applied to get data about the reason of Banjarnese to maintain their language and to get in depht result of the research. The data was analyzed by using Miles and Huberman’s data analysis. bahasa Banjar is maintained in Langkat. They keep using their language (bahasa Banjar) in Langkat because they realize the condition of bahasa Banjar nowdays, whereas there were some of them shift from bahasa Banjar maintenance. They are living in an area dominated by Banjarnese, visiting homeland regularly, intra marriage, use of the language in family domain, use of the language in neighborhood domain, use of the language in workplace domain, use the language in education domain, ethno linguistic vitality, use of the languge in religion domain, practice of adat istiadat (traditional) ceremony and solidarity of Banjarnese to use their language together. bahasa Banjar keep maintain and exist in Langkat. Abstract

Dalam rangka meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan khusunya di sebuah sekolah, adalah dengan menyelenggarakan berbagai kegiatan, diantaranya adalah workshop. Dengan adanya workshop tersebut akan berdampak pada peningkatan kompetensi para guru yang pada akhirnya akan mempengaruhi kualitas pengajaran di dalam kelas dengan berbagai model pembelajaran yang menyenangkan Beberapa hal yang dapat dilakukan adalah merubah maindset tentang cara berfikir tentang penekanan-penekatan pada para peserta didik dalam proses belajar mengajar di sekolah. Penekanan pada perserta didik sesuai dengan minat dan bakat yang dapat dilihat dari perilaku pserta didik masing-masing. Selain itu juga dapat diciptakan lingkungan belajar yang positif yaitu lingkungan sekolah yang nyaman dan menyenangkan. Menciptakan lingkungan yang nyaman dan menyenangkan tersebut akan memberikan ruang kepada peserta didik lebih interaktif, kretif dan inovatif. Hal lainnya yang tidak dapat dilupakan adalah adanya peran orang tua maupun pihak eksternal (dunia luar sekolah) dalam penetapan kurikulum pembelajaran. Karena hal tersebut akan memberikan warna tersediri bagi SMK Esa Prakarsa dalan pelaksanaan kegiatan pendidikan yang lebih berkualitas kedepannya.. Kata kunci : Workshop, Karakter, Mindset change.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of CCTV installation training in increasing students' awareness and knowledge about security. The results showed that the training was effective in increasing students' awareness of school safety and their knowledge of CCTV installation. The long-term impact of this training includes students' active role in maintaining school safety and improving the overall quality of education. Implementation recommendations include comprehensive training planning, collaboration with related parties, evaluation and coaching, as well as further counseling. Although this research has limitations, such as the limited number of samples, the results make an important contribution to the development of innovative and effective learning methods

Abstract

Pupuk organik cair mengandung unsur hara baik makro maupun mikro yang dibutuhkan tanaman untuk proses pertumbuhan. Tanaman pisang merupakan tanaman budidaya yang banyak dimanfaatkan untuk peluang usaha tersendiri bagi masyarakat, sehingga mengakibatkan banyak limbah kulit pisang yang dihasilkan. Banyaknya limbah kulit pisang ini dapat menjadi salah satu solusi yang dapat dimanfaatkan masyarakat untuk pembuatan Pupuk Organik Cair (POC). Pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai manfaat limbah kulit pisang sebagai pupuk organik cair kepada masyarakat (kelompok tani). Pelatihan pembuatan pupuk organik cair dilaksanakan di Kelurahan Tanah Seribu Kecamatan Binjai Selatan Kota Binjai dengan mitra Kelompok Tani Serba Guna. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelatihan ini terdiri dari metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Limbah kulit pisang yang sudah diolah menjadi pupuk organik cair bermanfaat bagi pertumbuhan dan perkembangan tanaman, memperbaiki sifat fisik tanah serta menambah unsur hara bagi tanaman budidaya. Abstract

Brain gym merupakan kegiatan latihan senam otak yang dapat membantu mengoptimalisasikan fungsi dari otak manusia khususnya dalam meningkatkan motorik kasar, sensorik, konsentrasi dan mengurangi tingkat kecemasan pada anak. Kegiatan Pengabdian masysrkat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kualitas kemampuan guru – guru TK Taman Cahaya Siantar dalam mengajar khususnya dalam aplikasi penerapan brain gym. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini adalah pelatihan sesuai dengan kebutuhan mitra melalui tahapan analisis kebutuhan melalui survey, perencanaan, pelaksanaan dan evalusai kegiatan. Hasil dari kegiatan bahwa seluruh peserta pelatihan dapat mengaplikasikan brain gym dengan baik dan diharapkan nantinya dapat mengaplikasikan kepada siswa – siswa yang diajarnya sehingga dapat lebih meningkatkan hasil belajar. Selain itu antusias mitra dalam mengikuti kegiatan sangat tinggi terlihat dari hasil angket kuisioner kepuasan mitra yang menyatakan sangat setuju atau sangat puas sebesar 76,60%, serta ingin kembali dilibatkan dalam kegiatan sejenis dimasa yang akan datang. Abstract

This journal's purpose is to learn how music can be used to develop listening skills. One of the four foundational English language skills is listening. It appears that speaking, reading, and writing are among the other skills. These fundamental abilities are broken down into productive skills like speaking and writing and receptive skills like listening and reading. Songs and music are essential components of development and education. The use of music in the classroom has various benefits. The use of songs in the teaching of foreign languages has both supporters and opponents. The use of songs in the educational process, particularly during listening lessons, helps students develop their listening skills as one of their valuable techniques to deal with listening skill issues English songs are engaging, so they can encourage participation from the students and help them perform better on listening tasks. However, using songs to aid in listening has drawbacks. For example, popular music isn't always accurate, and inadequate sound systems in classrooms can interfere with listening to music. Abstract

This study investigated students’ problem encountered during listeningactivities in STKIP Al Maksum Langkat. The subjects wereeighty-three students of the first semester of English Department StudyProgram. Basic qualitative studies suggest by Ary adopted in thisstudy. Questionaries and interview administered in order to collect thedata. The data informed that there were difficulties faced by thestudents in the listening activities, they were the speakers’ speed, theaccent of the speaker, unknown words, and difficulties in recognizingmain points. It was expected that enhancing students’ motivation topractice listening with authentic materials and in every learningactivities administering authentic materials deemed necessary in orderto insincere a real situation of native talks and conversation tounderstand the culture and points in their talks. Acquiring amounts ofvocabularies expected enhanced by the students in order to ease thelistening activities.

Abstract

ABSTRAK: Pelatihan Penyusunan Perangkat Pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka kepada Guru-Guru di MIN 12 Langkat merupakan inisiatif yang bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan para pendidik dalam mengadopsi dan mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kurikulum Merdeka, sebagai inovasi pendidikan terbaru, memberikan kebebasan kepada guru untuk merancang pembelajaran yang lebih kontekstual dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa. Pelatihan ini dirancang untuk meningkatkan pemahaman konsep Kurikulum Merdeka, mengembangkan keterampilan praktis dalam penyusunan perangkat pembelajaran, dan membangun komunitas belajar di antara para guru. Pelatihan melibatkan metode yang beragam, termasuk pemaparan konseptual, diskusi kelompok, studi kasus, dan workshop praktis dalam menyusun Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran (RPP). Guru-guru juga terlibat dalam simulasi pembelajaran dan observasi model pembelajaran Kurikulum Merdeka. Fokus pelatihan mencakup penerapan pembelajaran aktif, penggunaan teknologi pendidikan, penilaian formatif, dan pengembangan keterampilan soft skills siswa. Hasil yang diharapkan meliputi peningkatan pemahaman guru terhadap Kurikulum Merdeka, peningkatan keterampilan dalam menyusun perangkat pembelajaran yang kontekstual, dan pembentukan komunitas belajar yang berkelanjutan di antara para pendidik. Evaluasi hasil pembelajaran siswa, keterlibatan orang tua, dan respons positif dari masyarakat juga dijadikan indikator kesuksesan pelatihan. Melalui pelatihan ini, diharapkan guru-guru MIN 12 Langkat dapat menjadi agen perubahan dalam mengimplementasikan Kurikulum Merdeka, menciptakan pengalaman pembelajaran yang lebih menarik dan relevan, serta mempersiapkan siswa untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan. Pelatihan ini dapat menjadi model bagi lembaga pendidikan lainnya yang berada di fase transisi menuju Kurikulum Merdeka. ABSTRACT Training on Preparing Independent Curriculum Learning Tools for teachers at MIN 12 Langkat is an initiative aimed at preparing educators to adopt and implement the Independent Curriculum. The Merdeka Curriculum, as the latest educational innovation, gives teachers the freedom to design learning that is more contextual and appropriate to students' needs. This training is designed to increase understanding of the Independent Curriculum concept, develop practical skills in preparing learning tools, and build a learning community among teachers. Training involves various methods, including conceptual presentations, group discussions, case studies, and practical workshops in preparing Learning Implementation Plans. Teachers are also involved in learning simulations and observing the Merdeka Curriculum learning model. The focus of training includes the application of active learning, use of educational technology, formative assessment, and developing students' soft skills. The expected results include increasing teachers' understanding of the Independent Curriculum, increasing skills in developing contextual learning tools, and forming a sustainable learning community among educators. Evaluation of student learning outcomes, parental involvement, and positive responses from the community are also used as indicators of training success. Through this training, it is hoped that MIN 12 Langkat teachers can become agents of change in implementing the Independent Curriculum, creating more interesting and relevant learning experiences, and preparing students to face future challenges. This training can be a model for other educational institutions that are in the transition phase towards the Independent Curriculum. Abstract

Poverty is a central issue for every country worldwide, especially developing countries such as Indonesia. Some factors that cause poverty include low local and global economic growth, low levels of education and mastery of technology, limited natural resources, and high population growth. This study aims to look at the percentage of poor people and the poverty line in Deli Serdang. This study is a qualitative descriptive method with literature and literature studies from journals of previous research results. In 2022, Deli Serdang Regency was found to be the Regency with the smallest poverty percentage value in North Sumatra Province.

Abstract

This research explores the obstacles faced by students at SMP Negeri 1 SELESAI in learning English, particularly in reading. The study was conducted through preliminary analysis and a questionnaire, revealing a strong preference among students for topics related to the internet and entertainment, which might distract them from focusing on reading English materials. The research also revealed that students prefer to learn in groups rather than individually, suggesting a strong influence of peer interactions. Despite the high interest in English, students still face numerous obstacles in their learning process, including a lack of understanding about word distribution and pronoun usage in English, and difficulty in understanding and interpreting complex terms and phrases. The study suggests potential solutions to overcome these challenges, such as the use of more varied and interesting teaching methods, increasing students' understanding of English sentence structure, and enhancing students' interest and motivation in learning English, especially in reading.
