Abstract

Haemonchus contortus merupakan salah satu parasit ruminansia yang patogen dan telah mengembangkan kemampuan resistensi terhadap pengobatan antelmintik sintetik. Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji efektivitas antelmintik ekstrak daun kemangi pada skala mikro meter secara in vitro terhadap telur, larva infektif (L3), dan cacing dewasa H. contortus. Efektivitas tiga macam konsentrasi mikroherbal (10, 5, dan 1%) diuji melalui egg hatch assay, larval motility inhibition test, and adult worm motility inhibition assay. Kelompok kontrol negatif menggunakan PBS 10% sementara kontrol positif menggunakan Albendazole 10 mg/ml. Data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan mikroherbal konsentrasi tertinggi memiliki efek yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan Albendazole (p>0,05), baik terhadap telur, L3, maupun cacing dewasa. Penghambatan motilitas seluruh cacing dewasa terjadi pada 1-4 jam pertama paparan mikroherbal 10%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mikroherbal daun kemangi efektif dijadikan antelmintik terhadap berbagai stadium H. contortus.

Abstract

Piroplasmosis pada kuda merupakan penyakit parasit darah yang disebabkan oleh Theileria equi dan Babesia caballi, menyebabkan anemia, ikterus, kegagalan organ, serta pembatasan aktivitas kuda, termasuk larangan mengikuti kompetisi. Deteksi piroplasmosis secara rutin masih mengandalkan pemeriksaan mikroskopis ulas darah untuk melihat morfometrik parasitnya sehingga membutuhkan keahlian tinggi dan memerlukan waktu relatif lama. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengembangkan sistem deteksi otomatis parasit T. equi dan B. caballi berbasis algoritma YOLOv8 untuk meningkatkan kecepatan dan akurasi identifikasi mikroskopis. Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan pembuatan preparat ulas darah dari kuda yang terdiagnosis positif piroplasmosis yang telah divalidasi oleh ahli dari Laboratorium Protozoologi SKHB IPB. Preparat diwarnai menggunakan giemsa 10%, dilakukan pengambilan gambar, pembuatan dataset, anotasi data, pelatihan model YOLOv8, serta pengujian performa sistem. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan performa model mendeteksi parasit dengan mAP50 sebesar 69,8%, mAP50-95 sebesar 40,5%, dan kecepatan deteksi 5,4 ms. Evaluasi performa manual menunjukkan akurasi 91%, presisi 98%, recall 92%, dan F1-score 95% dibandingkan pemeriksaan mikroskopis. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa sistem berbasis YOLOv8 mampu melakukan deteksi T. equi dan B. caballi secara otomatis dengan presisi tinggi dan waktu deteksi cepat sehingga berpotensi digunakan sebagai alat bantu diagnosis piroplasmosis yang lebih efisien.

Abstract

Rusa merupakan salah satu satwa liar yang dilindungi di Indonesia. Saat ini rusa sering dipelihara dan dijadikan sebagai bagian dari wahana hiburan di tempat rekreasi alam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kejadian infeksi kecacingan pada rusa yang dipelihara di tempat rekreasi Waru Farm Land, Tegalwaru, Ciampea, Bogor. Sebanyak 9 rusa dipelihara oleh Waru Farm Land terdiri atas rusa totol dan rusa timor. Sampel diambil dengan cara mengoleksi secara langsung sesaat setelah rusa melakukan defekasi. Pemeriksaan sampel feses yang dilakukan meliputi uji flotasi, uji McMaster, dan filtrasi bertingkat. Hasil Pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa satu ekor rusa mengalami multiinfeksi nematoda parasit. Hasil pemeriksaan ditemukan telur tipe strongyle dan trichurid. Derajat infeksi menunjukkan nilai yang sangat ringan yaitu kurang dari 50 EPG, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa infeksi kecacingan pada rusa di Waru Farm Land sangat rendah. Pengobatan dilakukan dengan pemberian anthelmintik pada rusa yang positif terinfeksi kecacingan sekaligus untuk mencegah terjadinya infeksi pada rusa lainnya.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to study the changes in uterine support capability power due to increase of litter size in Kacang goat. In this study, 9 pregnant female Kacang goats were divided into 4 different groups based on litter size, namely 1, 2, 3, and 4. At 7 weeks of pregnancy, the experimental Kacang goats were sacrificed to observe the macro and micro parameters of the uterus. The results showed that the litter size had a quadratic relationship with micro parameters of uterus but it had a linear relationship with macro parameters of the uterus. The variables of uterine glands area, glands lumen area, and cytoplasmic area reached maximum condition at the litter size of 2.5. Litter size had a linear relationship with the volume, weight, and dimension of the uterus. It can be concluded that the optimal number of litter size in Kacang goat was two offsprings which was proven by the optimal function of the uterus to support fetal development.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemberian hormon PMSG sebelum kawin terhadap gambaran darah merah induk domba bunting. Sebanyak 14 ekor induk domba bunting dengan kisaran bobot badan antara 20-25 kg dikelompokkan ke dalam dua kelompok, masing-masing terdiri atas 7 ekor domba. Perlakuan pertama terdiri atas induk domba bunting hasil perkawinan alami tanpa diberikan hormon PMSG (P0) dan perlakuan kedua terdiri atas induk domba bunting yang diberikan 125 IU PMSG (PG 600, Intervet, Holland) sebelum dikawinkan (P1). Sebelum diberikan hormon PMSG, domba penelitian diserentakkan berahinya dengan menyuntikkan 10 mg/ekor prostaglandin (PGF2, LutalyseTM, Pharmacia Upjohn Company, Pfizer Inc.) sebanyak dua kali dengan interval sebelas hari. Penyuntikan hormon PMSG dilakukan bersamaan dengan penyuntikan hormon PGF2 yang kedua. Domba betina yang estrus dikawinkan secara alami dengan pejantan yang telah diseleksi. Pada hari ke-30 setelah dikawinkan, dilakukan pemeriksaan kebuntingan dan jumlah fetus dengan menggunakan ultrasonografi (USG). Sampel darah untuk pemeriksaan jumlah sel darah merah, kadar hemoglobin, dan nilai hematokrit diambil pada periode kebuntingan bulan ke-1, 2, 3, 4, dan 5. Perlakuan hormon PMSG sebelum perkawinan meningkatkan jumlah sel darah merah, nilai hematokrit, dan kadar hemoglobin induk domba bunting. Peningkatan jumlah sel darah merah, nilai hematokrit, dan kadar hemoglobin terjadi pada periode awal kebuntingan dan menurun pada akhir masa kebuntingan.

Abstract

Goats and sheep are small ruminants that are widely used as livestock by the people of Indonesia. One of them is in Petir Village, Dramaga Sub-District, Bogor District. Increasing livestock productivity can be achieved by paying attention to aspects of livestock health. Ruminants often get infection by parasitic worms. Treatment of parasitic helminth infections can be carried out by the administration of anthelmintic and supportive treatment with vitamins administration. This activity aims to improve the health of small ruminants by administering anthelmintic to deworming and vitamins to support livestock productivity. This activity begins with the examination of fecal samples from livestock to diagnose parasitic helminth infections. The results of the examination are used as a basis for carrying out treatment in the form of administering deworming and vitamins. The results of the examination of fecal samples were obtained as many as 66.67% found of positive helminth infection and 46.67% positive of oocysts. Common clinical symptoms are found like have diarrhea and have thin bodies. Treatment has been carried in nine farms of sheep and goat in the village. This activity received support from residents, especially sheep and goat farmers. The anthelmintic and vitamin administration to small ruminants has been carried out well and is part of efforts to increase livestock productivity in Bogor District.

Abstract

  The community of Kopen Village faces challenges to family resilience, particularly in family resource management, communication, and digital risk control such as online gambling. This community service program aimed to enhance participants' understanding of family resilience and mitigate the dangers of online gambling that threaten family harmony. The activity was conducted in collaboration with the TP-PKK of Kopen Village and involved 16 participants representing all hamlets.  The methods used were interactive socialization, discussions supported by a pop-up family resilience house visual media, and quantitative measurement through pre-tests and post-tests. A guide materials booklet was also developed for the sustainability program. The results demonstrated a significant increase in understanding, with all participants scoring in the high category after the activity compared to the pre-test scores. The interactive approach, coupled with real-life examples, successfully strengthened participants’ awareness of the strategic role of the family in managing digital risks. The guide material produced ensures the program has a sustainable impact on literacy and strengthen family resilience in Kopen Village.

Abstract

Haemonchosis often be found in small ruminants, such as sheep. This is one of the reasons many farmers struggle with economic loss without their knowledge. Lack of knowledge about this disease and repetitive usage of the same anthelmintic could lead to anthelmintic resistance. The use of papaya leaves as an anthelmintic could be an alternative for this matter because they have active ingredients such as tannin, flavonoid, saponin, etc. Using nanotechnology to make this anthelmintic hopefully could alleviate the effect of this herb. Nano herb was made by extracting simplicias, homogenizing the emulsion with a homogenizer, and lastly displaying the emulsion with ultrasonication. The mean z-average of nano herb by Particle Size Analyzer is estimated to be 824,7 nm. In vitro tests with egg hatch assay showed that nano herbs could destroy 41,67% - 100% eggs. Larva motility inhibition test showed all larvae in the microtube were paralyzed in group NH25%. Adult H. contortus showed the earliest time of death at 17 minutes (± 10,12) in group NH25%. These conclude that papaya leaves in nano form could act as an anthelmintic to H. contortus in in vitro testing with the best effect in group NH25%.

Abstract

Spotted deer (Axis axis) as a protected endemic animal has the potential to be developed to provide economic value. However, in general, deer are often infected by endoparasitic diseases caused by various factors such as direct contact with infected areas to transmission through feed. As a result of endoparasitic infections, infected animals can experience malnutrition, physiological disorders, and even death. This study aims to identify nematode worm species using molecular diagnosis in spotted deer. Molecular identification of nematode species in deer feces was carried out by fecal sample collection and cultivation, larvae isolation, DNA extraction, PCR process, and electrophoresis. Molecular analysis using specific primer targeting the ITS gene. The PCR results showed the single band at 260 bp. Based on the result, the nematode species that has infected the spotted deer was Haemonchus contortus. These findings provide the first molecular-level confirmation of endoparasite infection in spotted deer in Indonesia, expanding the existing diagnostic information for wildlife health monitoring.

Abstract

Degradasi ekosistem akan menimbulkan permasalahan serius terutama bagi kesehatan masyarakat. Salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat adalah penyakit tular vektor (vector borne disease). Demam Berdarah Dengue (DBD) adalah salah satu penyakit tular vektor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kepadatan telur nyamuk Aedes spp. di Samarinda, Kalimantan Timur, berdasarkan indeks ovitrap dan hubungannya dengan iklim mikro (suhu dan kelembapan). Survei ini mengamati 150 rumah pada tiga kelurahan di Samarinda. Setiap rumah diberikan dua ovitrap, outdoor dan indoor. Jumlah ovitrap yang diberikan sebanyak 300/minggu. Pengambilan sampel dilakukan sebanyak 8 kali dengan interval waktu survei dua minggu. Indeks ovitrap pada tiap kelurahan yaitu  31.62% di Pelita, 28.25% di Sidodadi, dan 27.8% di Sempaja Utara. Hasil indeks ovitrap termasuk tingkat 3 di tiap kelurahan. Hubungan antara iklim mikro (suhu dan kelembapan) dengan ovitrap positif berkorelasi positif di kelurahan Pelita dan Sempaja Utara (p-value < 0.05), tetapi tidak berkorelasi di kelurahan Sidodadi (p-value > 0.05).
