Abstract

The existing transmission pipeline network in Kintamani District, especially in the RV-II Reservoir in Catur Village to the RV-III Reservoir in Belantih Village, often experiences disruption due to leaks. The existing transmission pipe has a diameter of 12 inches and is of the Poly Vinyl Chloride (PVC) type. The current condition of the existing transmission pipe has been repaired several times due to leakage problems and the age of the pipe can be categorized as old. This research is to determine the condition of the existing transmission pipe network and find solutions to overcome problems in the leaking transmission pipe network. So that the water discharge pumped to RV-III Belantih Village can be maintained at 60 l/sec. Hydraulic analysis of pipe networks using the Epanet program. Based on primary data, the total pipe length from RV-II Catur Village to RV-III Belantih Village is 5,050 m. However, the plan to replace the existing transmission pipe is only 1,200 m long. Based on the results of the analysis of population growth in Catur Village and Belantih Village, the calculation results show that it is 0.0127% per year. The service distribution network to Catur Village and Belantih Village of 18.75 l/s is only able to meet the population's water needs until 2036. Simulation using the Epanet program, at nodes RP2.16 to RP2.40, the Ø10 inch PVC pipe design has a maximum pressure of 8,857 bar while the existing Ø12 inch PVC pipe has a maximum pressure of 9.3 bar. The simulated flow discharge for 24 hours is constant at 60 l/s resulting in a flow velocity of 1.22 m/s. Replacing pipes using Ø 10 inch PVC pipes is safer and more cost effective.

Abstract

Prefabricated buildings represent a novel approach to construction, characterized by standardized designs, factory-based processing, and assembly-line operations. Over the recent years, the continuous advancement and maturation of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology have fostered advantageous conditions for the enhancement and transformation of the construction sector. Prefabricated buildings integrate a variety of digital technologies to break down barriers in various links of the traditional construction industry. This approach effectively fosters information sharing and resource substitution across different stages and among various stakeholders in construction, thereby preventing issues such as inadequate information communication that often arise during the building process. This review elucidates the prevalent employment of BIM technology in PB (prefabricated buildings) through a systematic literature review and content analysis. A three-stage systematic literature review approach was adopted to identify and review 81 relevant articles, culminating in a summary outlining the contribution, development trends, and restriction of BIM technology in PB. The review also emphasises the potential of BIM technology, but the need for effective integration of the technology to improve future prefabrication practices

Abstract

Drought is a recurring disaster in several regions of Indonesia, often happening from April to September annually. During the dry season, a substantial reduction in rainfall leads to inadequate water supplies and drought. Drought significantly affects food crop output, water scarcity, and reduced water availability for daily necessities, disrupting everyday activities like bathing, washing, and cooking. Seraya Village, situated in Karangasem Regency, Bali Province, frequently faces drought conditions. Seraya, a settlement prone to drought, was officially designated as such by the Karangsem Regent by Regulation Number 36 of 2008, specifying the location of drought natural disasters in Seraya settlement, East Seraya, and West Seraya in the Karangasem District. This study aimed to compare the capacity of rainwater harvesting with the current home water demand in Seraya-Karangasem Village to determine the feasibility of using rainwater to address water shortages and avert drought. This study employs quantitative descriptive methods by analyzing primary data on the regional conditions and limits of the study area, along with secondary data on demographic (population), geographical, and rainfall data spanning a decade. The study revealed that the rainwater harvesting potential in Seraya Village, Karangasem District, was 254342191.15 liters per year, while the total water demand was 227660565 liters yearly. This resulted in excess harvested water amounting to 26681626.15 liters per year, 12% more than the total water needs. The excess amount of rainwater that may be harvested compared to the entire domestic water demand demonstrates the effective utilization of rainwater harvesting systems in preventing water shortages and droughts in Seraya-Karangasem Village.

Abstract

Urbanization and climate change are expected to exacerbate and introduce uncertainty in future flood characteristics. The city of Denpasar often experiences flooding due to rapid population growth and changes in land use. One form of flood mitigation that can be implemented is infiltration wells. This research aims to design infiltration wells as an environmental conservation effort by evaluating the characteristics of the watershed and the depth of groundwater. This research will also examine lithological aspects and use geographic information systems (GIS) to increase effectiveness in planning. The research results show that the construction of infiltration wells at the research location is effective in reducing flood volume, with reductions varying between 19.86% in South Denpasar and 59.58% in North Denpasar, East Denpasar and West Denpasar. Infiltration wells not only reduce the risk of flooding but also play an important role in preserving the environment according to the Tri Hita Karana concept. By integrating these sustainable practices into spatial planning, water resource management can be enhanced, fostering a healthy environment for future generations.

Abstract

Massive conversion of agricultural land into built-up land occurred in South Denpasar District. These changes impacted the decline in rice production by 5.5% in 2023 and a decrease in the performance of the irrigation network. This study employs GIS to assess the efficacy of irrigation networks to enhance sustainable agriculture, community food security, and irrigation and subak network systems in South Denpasar. This study used spatial analysis to create an irrigation network performance map. Data analysis interprets primary data based on field observation to assess the irrigation network's physical condition. The irrigation network is divided into four levels: good, slightly damaged, medium damaged, and badly damaged. The study indicated that Subak Sesetan disintegrated since it was thought to have turned into a village. The land conversion reduced the 292.593 Ha of subak (Kerdung, Cuculan, Kepaon, and Sesetan) to 186.314 Ha, or 36.32%. The length of irrigation canals was 16.901 Km, with good conditions along 16.67 Km or 98.61%, slightly damaged conditions along 0.051 Km or 0.3%, and moderately damaged conditions along 0.1842 Km or 1.09%. This research should help South Denpasar District stakeholders decide on land-use change strategies and rehabilitation or irrigation network development priorities.
