Abstract

Indonesia should focus on cocoa products that have the highest competitiveness in order to compete with other competitors in cocoa international trade. This research aimed to analyze Indonesia’s cocoa and cocoa preparations competitiveness. Data used in this research were secondary data. Research began with analyzed cocoa and cocoa preparations market structure. The result showed that the market structure of cocoa paste, cocoa butter and cocoa powder (unsweetened) classified as an oligopoly, in the other hand cocoa beans classified as monopoly. RCA (Revealed Comparative Advantage) method showed that Indonesia had comparative advantages on cocoa beans, cocoa paste and cocoa butter (RCA>1). TSI (Trade Specialization Index) method showed that Indonesia had a tendency as a net exporter of cocoa beans, cocoa paste and cocoa butter. EPD (Export Products Dynamic) method showed that Indonesia had a high competitive advantages on cocoa beans, cocoa paste, cocoa butter and cocoa powder (unsweetened).

Abstract

The change of business paradigm towards sustainable development requires industry players to produce palm oil in a sustainable manner. One of them is to follow the guidelines of Principles and Criteria (PnC) of sustainable palm oil production endorsed by Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Researchers interested to know the constraints (critical point) of the company in meeting all the principles and criteria for sustainable palm oil production. Identification of critical points will have an important role to know how far the performance and constraints faced by the company in fulfilling all the principles and criteria to produce sustainable palm oil. The purpose of this study is to analyze the critical point on sustainability criteria and indicators in PT.XYZ. Methods of data collection research conducted by interview and observation in the field. Researchers use RSPO Principles and Criteria (PnC) parameters as parameters of sustainable palm oil production implementation. Method of data analysis using FMECA (Failure Modes, Effects and Criticality Analysis ) method with 2 stages, namely FMEA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and CA (Criticality Analisis). The FMECA analysis shows that there are 5 critical criteria and 6 critical indicators in fulfilling all the principles and criteria of sustainable palm oil production in PT.XYZ.

Abstract

The objectives of this research are to analyze competitiveness and the impact of government’s policy of maize farming in several central productions in Indonesia. This research was conducted to analyze maize competitiveness using PAM (Policy Analysis Matrix) method. Data sample was conducted at four maize production centers, including East Java, Central Java, West Java, and South Sulawesi. The results show the forth centre have competitiveness. This showed by PCR values in some production areas less than 1 and for competitive advantage, indicated by DRCR values in production areas also less than 1. Analysis of the Government policy aspect, the government has been able to provide positive incentives for maize farming in North Jawa, Centre of Jawa and West Java. The impact of government policy on inputs and outputs simultaneously can provide a positive incentive to farmers at maize production sites in Java. But the government’s policy hasn’t been able to provide for output in Sulawesi Selatan.  The conclusion is the fourth centres of maize production have competitive and comparative advantage. Sulawesi Selatan has high comparative advantages, so Sulawesi Selatan has high  potential to improve maize farming.

Abstract

Agricultural sector technically has quite high risk of uncertainty, including crop failure level which is caused by climate change, pest attack and disease, flood, dryness, as well as price uncertainty which is at the end harm the farmer. In order to decrease the risk that faced by farmers especially rice farmer, government run Asuransi Usaha Tani Padi (AUTP) program. This research aimed to analyze the farmer’s attitude and satisfaction to AUTP attributes in Karawang West Java. Analysis tools that used in this research are Multiatribut Fishbein analysis to observe farmer’s attitude and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI) analysis to detect farmer’s satisfaction level to AUTP attribute. The result of this research, found that the most important attributes according to farmer based on the importance level are Penyuluh Pertanian Lapangan (PPL), the number of the claim, direct socialization, farmer group leader and easy access to information. Farmer’s satisfaction level to AUTP attributes overall is quite satisfy. Therefore the performance of AUTP attributes level need to be increased, so that the farmer’s attitude and satisfaction to AUTP increase. Farmers that have positive attitude and satisfaction tend to follow the program continously and will recommend it to other farmer.

Abstract

Catfish cracker processing business has enormous potential to be developed for several reasons, namely the high supply of catfish, the lack of utilization of catfish supply, and the increasing consumption trend of crackers. Clipss Catfish Chips is a catfish cracker processing business whose business development plan in the form of increasing production capacity includes the procurement of production machinery and relocation of the production house. Clipss Catfish Chips will also conduct business legalities to support the business development process. This research was conducted to assess the long-term investment planning on the development plan that Clipss will do. Data processing and analysis used in this research include feasibility analysis of non-financial aspects and financial aspects and switching value analysis. Analysis of non-financial aspects was studied qualitatively with descriptive and quantitatively with a Likert scale. Analysis of the financial aspect was studied using a few investment criteria namely Net Present Value, Net Benefit-Cost Ratio, Internal Rate of Return, and Payback Period. The results of the feasibility analysis of non-financial and financial aspects indicate that business development is feasible to run. The results of the switching value analysis show that the decrease in the amount of production is more sensitive than the increase in the price of fish and packaging.

Abstract

One of the ways to increase production was increasing technical efficiency. The purpose of this research was to analyze technical efficiency and factors that affected technical efficiency in Tinggimoncong District, Gowa Regency, South Sulawesi. This research used purposive sampling with 50 potatoes farmers. This study used Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) approach and Tobit regression for data analysis. The result of the study showed that there are 23 farmers of the respondents stated to be efficient or about 46 per cent of the total respondents studied. Factors that significantly influence the technical efficiency of potato farming were education and income outside of farming.

Abstract

Pesona Daun Mas Asri is a company in cut flowers  and leaves cultivation. The  achievement is shown by the performance of the company. The overall company’s performance contributes in developing the company’s vision. Balanced score card is a management tool used to observe and maintain the stability between financial indicators (financial perspective) and non financial indicators (customer, business internal process, growth and learning).  The objective of the journal is to plan the performance of the company using balanced scorecard approach, analyze and calculate the vision, mission and strategy implemented by Pesona Daun Mas in it business activity..  The result for every strategic target shows that the performance of Pesona Daun Mas is excellent with the achieved score of 78,04%.  However the target for the selling growth level and marketing activities are classified as average which means that it still needs to be developed.   Keywords:  balanced scorecard, performance evaluation, KPI performance index, ornamental plants cutAbstrakPesona Daun Mas Asri merupakan perusahaan yang bergerak dalam bidang budi daya bunga potong dan daun potong. Pencapaian dalam menjalankan sebuah perusahaan dapat dilihat dari kinerja perusahaan tersebut.Kinerja perusahaan Pesona Daun Mas Asri secara keseluruhan dapat berkontribusi untuk mengembangkan perusahaan dalam mencapai visi. Balanced scorecard adalah salah satu alat manajemen yang dapat melihat dan menjaga keseimbangan antara indikator keuangan (perspektif keuangan) dan indikator non-keuangan (pelanggan, proses bisnisinternal, pertumbuhan dan pembelajaran). Tujuan dari jurnal ini adalah untuk merancang pengukuran kinerja perusahaan dengan pendekatan Balanced scorecard. Penelitian ini juga bertujuan menganalisis dan mengukur pelaksanaan visi, misi dan strategi yang dijalankan oleh Pesona Daun Mas Asri dalam kegiatan bisnisnya. Selain itu, memberikan saran dan rekomendasi, serta merumuskan implikasi manajerial untuk Pesona Daun Mas Asri. Hasil pengukuran menunjukan kinerja dariPesona Daun Mas Asri termasuk sangat baik dengan nilai mencapai 78,04%. Pada setiap sasaran strategis mencapai kinerja yang baik. Namun, target pada sasaran strategis tingkat pertumbuhan penjualan dan kegiatan pemasaran menunjukan perlu pengembangan karena sasaran strategis tersebut masuk ke dalam skala penilaian rata-rata (average).Kata kunci: balanced scorecard, evaluasi kinerja, indeks kinerja, KPI, tanaman hias potong

Abstract

Green Nitrogen is one of the nitrogen service brands in Indonesia available at some Pertamina Gas Stations. The purposes of this research were to examine the effect of consumer knowledge, product quality, and consumer trust on customer loyalty, and to formulate strategies to increase consumer loyalty. This research used Structural Equation Model (SEM) analytical tool. The result indicated that factors affecting Green Nitrogen consumer loyalty were sequentially starting from the highest R-Square value with the most significant effect was consumer trust with a weight of 0.371; then, the product quality with a weight of 0.136, and consumer knowledge with a weight of 0.093. The results of t values indicated that consumer knowledge and product quality have no significant effect on consumer loyalty. The process of consumer loyalty is affected by how much trust the consumers have on Green Nitrogen’s reputation and responsibilities in dealing with claims proposed by consumers compared with the elements of product quality and consumer knowledge. Therefore, Green Nitrogen needs to create a platform to accommodate complaints, claims, and suggestions from its consumers so that the consumers feel satisfied with the services provided.Keywords: custoumer knowledge, product quality, customer trust, customer loyalty, Structural Equation Modeling (sem)Abstrak: Green Nitrogen merupakan salah satu merek penyedia jasa pengisian angin nitrogen yang terdapat di beberapa Stasiun Pengisian Bahan Bakar (SPBU) Pertamina di Indonesia. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk mengetahui pengaruh pengetahuan konsumen, kualitas produk, dan kepercayaan konsumen terhadap loyalitas pelanggan serta menyusun strategi pemasaran untuk meningkatkan loyalitas pelanggan. Alat analisis yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa faktor-faktor yang berpengaruh terhadap loyalitas pelanggan Green Nitrogen secara berurutan dari nilai R-Square terbesar adalah kepercayaan pelanggan dengan bobot 0,371, kualitas produk dengan bobot 0,136 dan pengetahuan konsumen dengan bobot  0,093. Nilai t menunjukkan bahwa pengetahuan konsumen dan kualitas produk tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap loyalitas pelanggan. Proses loyalitas pelanggan banyak dipengaruhi oleh seberapa besar konsumen memiliki kepercayaan atas reputasi dan tanggung jawab Green Nitrogen atas klaim yang diajukan pelanggan dibandingkan elemen-elemen pembentuk kualitas produk dan pengetahuan konsumen. Oleh sebab itu, Green Nitrogen perlu membuat wadah untuk menampung pengaduan, klaim dan saran dari pelanggannya agar pelanggan merasa puas atas pelayanan yang telah diberikan.Kata kunci: pengetahuan konsumen, kualitas produk, kepercayaan pelanggan, loyalitas pelanggan, struktural equation model (sem)

Abstract

PT Galih Estetika Indonesia is a first sweet potato agroindustry company in Indonesia that produces sweet potato paste products by export scale. The increasing demand causes companies to establish partnerships with farmers to meet the needs of raw sweet potatoes as input for production. In establishing partnerships it takes good communication to create relationships that can be used to solve all existing business problems. By using all forms of communication both verbal and nonverbal, then communication can be directed to achieve certain goals. The purpose of this research is to describe picture of partnership and partnership pattern which run by PT Galih Estetika Indonesia and analyze business communication conducted by PT Galih Estetika Indonesia in improving sweet potato partnership. This research uses qualitative descriptive method with data collection technique through in-depth interview, FGD (Focus Group Discussion), and observation. The result of this research shows that the partnership has not run optimally and the communication done by PT Galih Estetika Indonesia does not necessarily only communicate, but also keeps the communication in order not to break, so the business relationship can continue that will impact on the profit earned by the company . Well-established communication able to overcome all problems of raw material availability. All forms of conflict can be resolved by business communication.

Abstract

A deficiency of shallot seed production causes Indonesia could not meet its own local demand yet and thus imports foreign variety from other countries. However, farmer should choose between local and imported seed variety for their farming business activity. The purposes of the study was to analyze farmer decision and factors that determine farmer decision to utilize local and imported seed of shallot. Logistic regression was used to answer the research questions. Respondents were 60 persons divided into two groups, farmer who utilized local seed and that utilized the imported one. The result showed that the differences in decision making between local and imported farmers were the benefits they sought, while the factors that significantly influence the farmer's decision to use local seed are scale of land area, seed price, income and market. Scale of land area and seed price have negative influence significantly, while income and market give positive influence significantly on farmer decision to utilize conventional seed.
