Abstract

CVS is a physical disorder that often occurs, one of which is in the eye where there is a combination of eye complaints with a duration of more than 4 hours without any rest breaks. Computer use without rest breaks can cause several eye complaints such as headaches, back pain, blurred vision, dry eyes, the sensation of burning or burning eyes, and red eyes. The factors that influence the incidence of CVS include women who are more susceptible to CVS, sitting or lying positions, distance <40 cm, and use of contact lenses or contact lenses. COVID 2019 requires learning to be done online. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with CVS in students of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Muhammadiyah Semarang. Research method: this research is observational analytic research with a cross-sectional method. This study uses a questionnaire and a lux meter as instruments or measuring devices to obtain research data. The number of samples from this study was 81 students. The test data used to process the data are Chi-Square and Rank-Spearman. . Research Results: There is a relationship between CVS and the sitting position as indicated by p 0.018. There is a relationship between the distance from the eye to the screen which is shown with a p-value of 0.004. But there is no relationship between screen brightness and CVS as indicated by the p-value of 1.000 (p>0.05). Conclusion: Factors related to CVS are sitting position and distance from using a laptop, while factors not related to CVS are screen brightness

Abstract

Latar belakang: Cakupan pemberian tablet tambah darah (TTD) pada remaja putri di Indonesia pada tahun 2021 adalah sebesar 31,3%, dan di provinsi Jawa Tengah sebesar 63,1%. Di Puskesmas Poncol cakupan remaja putri yang mengkonsumsi tablet Fe di bulan Januari- September tahun 2022 sebanyak 35.530 dari 39.673 remaja (90%). Rendahnya cakupan konsumsi tablet Fe dapat disebabkan kurangnya kepatuhan, sikap remaja, dan pengetahuan remaja dalam mengkonsumsi tablet Fe. Metode: Kegiatan ini memberikan edukasi video mengenai materi pentingnya konsumsi tablet Fe dan anemia bagi remaja putri. Kegiatan dilakukan di SMPN 36 Semarang dengan peserta sebanyak 102 orang. Evaluasi peningkatan pengetahuan dilakukan menggunakan analisis kuantitatif hasil pre-test dan post-test yang diuji dengan statistik uji t-dependent. Hasil: Hasil uji didapatkan peningkatan signifikan nilai pengetahuan remaja putri terhadap pentingnya konsumsi tablet Fe dan anemia (p value<0,05). Kesimpulan: Penyuluhan menggunakan video edukasi berdampak positif dalam meningkatkan pengetahuan remaja putri yang diharapkan meningkatan kepatuhannya untuk minum tablet Fe.

Abstract

"Latar Belakang: Keadaan hiperglikemia disebabkan kerusakan sel ? pankreas, yang mengakibatkan hiperkolesterolemia. Keadaan hiperkolesterol dapat dikendalikan dengan pemberian jahe emprit. Jahe emprit memiliki kadar penangkal radikal bebas yang tinggi bila di bandingkan dengan jahe lain. Penelitian bertujuan pengaruh pemberian ekstrak rimpang jahe emprit (Zingiber officinale Var. Amarum.) terhadap kadar kolesterol total pada tikus jantan galur wistar hiperglikemia. Metode: Rancangan penelitian adalah pre test post test Control Group Design. Sampel yang digunakan tikus putih jantan galur wistar (Rattus norvegicus) berjumlah 30 ekor dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok tersebut yaitu tidak diinduksi streptozotocin- nicotinamide (STZ-NA) (K-), diinduksi STZ-NA (K+), diinduksi STZ-NA diberi ekstrak jahe 100 mg/kgBB/hari (P1), diinduksi STZ-NA diberi 200 mg/kgBB/hari (P2) dan diinduksi STZ-NA diberi ekstrak metformin 300 mg/kgBB/hari (P3). Pemberian perlakuan selama 21 hari. Kadar kolesterol total diukur sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Uji yang digunakan untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar kolesterol total adalah One Way Anova dan Post hoc. Hasil: Kadar kolesterol total tikus sebelum perlakuan pada K- : 104,0+5,4 mg/dl, K+ : 130,8+21,7 mg/dl, P1 :121,2+22,0 mg/dl, P2 : 122,8+9,6 mg/dl, P3 : 128,4+13,1 mg/dl. Kadar kolesterol total tikus sesudah perlakuan pada K- : 92,8+8,4 mg/dl, K+ : 166,5+33,5 mg/dl, P1 : 91,4+33,3 mg/dl, P2 : 82,7+24,8 mg/dl, P3 : 78,2+19,8 mg/dl. Ada perbedaan kadar kolesterol total tikus sesudah perlakuan dengan p=0,000. Kesimpulan: Pemberian ekstrak rimpang jahe emprit (Zingiber officinale Var. Amarum) menurunkan kadar kolesterol total tikus jantan galur wistar yang hiperglikemia. "

Abstract

"ABSTRAK Latar Belakang :Keadaan hiperglikemia pada DMs meningkatkan konsentrasi radikal bebas dalam tubuh sehingga menyebabkan kerusakan sel ? pankreas. Kerusakan dapat dibatasi dengan jahe emprit sebagai antidiabetik dan tinggi melatonin. Aktivitas inhibisi enzim ?-glukosidase jahe emprit lebih kuat dibanding jahe lainnya. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis pengaruh pemberian ekstrak kaya melatonin jahe emprit terhadap kadar gula darah tikus hiperglikemia yang diinduksi Streptozotosin Nikotinamid (STZ-NA). Metode: Rancangan penelitian adalah Pre Test Post Test Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian tikus putih jantan galur wistar berjumlah 30 ekor dibagi menjadi 5 kelompok. Kelompok tersebut adalah tidak diinduksi STZ-NA (K-), diinduksi STZ-NA(K+), diinduksi STZ-NA diberi ekstrak Jahe 100 mg/ kg BB/hari (P1), diinduksi STZ-NA diberi ekstrak Jahe 200 mg/kg BB/hari (P2), diinduksi STZ-NA diberi metformin 300 mg/ kg BB/hari (P3). Perlakuan selama 21 hari. Kadar gula darah sewaktu diukur sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Untuk mengetahui perbedaan kadar gula darah digunakan uji paired t dan one way anova. Hasil : Kadar gula darah tikus sebelum perlakuan terendah adalah K-: 109,4 mg/dl dan tertinggi adalah P2: 426,8 mg/dl . Kadar gula darah tikus sesudah perlakuan terendah K-: 110,8 mg/dl dan tertinggi adalah K+: 399,2 mg/dl. Penurunan kadar gula darah terbesar terjadi pada P3 yaitu 262,8 mg/dl. Ada perbedaan bermakna penurunan kadar gula antara K- dengan P1, K- dengan P2, K- dengan P3, K+ dengan P1, K+ dengan P2 serta K+ dengan P3. Kesimpulan : Ekstrak kaya melatonin rimpang jahe emprit dapat menurunkan kadar GDS tikus yang di induksi STZ-NA. "

Abstract

High-fat diet (HFD) causes oxidative stress, which is a trigger for insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes mellitus. The provision of foods rich in antioxidants, such as rice bran, tempeh, and Javanese ginger, is needed to reduce oxidative stress. This study aimed to determine the effect of giving Bekatewak (a combination of rice bran, tempeh, and Javanese ginger) flour on fasting blood glucose levels of type 2 diabetes mellitus rats induced by HFD. This study was true experimental research using a pre- and post-test randomized controlled group design with a total of 18 rats as samples. There were three groups: the negative control group (K-), the positive control group (K+), and the treatment group (P). The study results showed a significant difference in fasting blood glucose levels before and after the administration of Bekatewak flour at a dose of 540 mg/200 g/bodyweight (p<0.05). There were significant differences in fasting blood glucose levels after intervention between K- and K+, K- and P, and K+ and P groups (p<0.001). Bekatewak flour has the potential to be developed as a functional food based on natural antioxidants to help control blood glucose levels and prevent insulin resistance caused by a high-fat diet.

Abstract

Melasma didefinisikan sebagai kondisi yang umumnya ditemukan pada area wajah terkena paparan sinar matahari, dimana akan terjadi hipermelanosis. Salah satu faktor resiko terjadinya melasma adalah paparan sinar matahari. Untuk mencegah dampak buruk dari sinar matahari kulit perlu mendapatkan perlindungan khusus berupa penggunaan sediaan tabir surya agar meminimalkan terjadinya melasma bagi kulit. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adanya hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan penggunaan tabir surya dengan kejadian melasma. Penelitian ini bersifat analitik observasional dengan pendekataan Cross-sectional. Jumlah sampel 50 orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel simple random sampling. Alat ukur yang digunakan adalah kuesioner dan kamera. Teknik Analisa data menggunakan uji Chi Square. Hasil penelitian ini dari 27 responden yang berpengetahuan baik, 77,78% tidak melasma, sedangkan 26,09% melasma. Hasil analisis uji chi square didapatkan nilai p=0,001. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan tentang tabir surya dengan kejadian melasma. Dari 25 responden dengan penggunaan tabir surya yang baik, 70,37% tidak melasma, sedangkan 26,09% melasma. Hasil analisis uji chi square didapatkan nilai p=0,008. Terdapat hubungan antara penggunaan tabir surya dengan kejadian melasma. Terdapat hubungan antara tingkat pengetahuan dan penggunaan tabir surya dengan kejadian melasma. Pada responden dengan tingkat pengetahuan dan penggunaan tabir surya yang baik, kejadian melasma lebih berkurang.

Abstract

Antifungal resistance has implications for the development of bioactive compounds. Bacillus sp. has been widely studied for the discovery of antifungal volatile compounds. This study aims to explore the antifungal activity of Bacillus sp. HSFI-6 isolated from sea cucumber (Holothuria scabra Fermented Intestine-HSFI) against Malassezia furfur, Candida albicans, and Aspergillus fumigatus. Bacillus sp. HSFI-6 was identified molecularly by 16S rRNA sequencing. Ethyl acetate extract of Bacillus sp. HSFI-6 was produced using media containing starch, yeast, peptone, and its metabolites were profiled using Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS). A disc diffusion antifungal assay was performed. Bacillus sp. HSFI-6 has 93.47% similarities with Bacillus albus strain MCCC 102146 and moderately inhibit C. albicans (7.00 ± 1.15 mm), A. fumigatus (9.25 ± 0.96 mm). The GC-MS metabolomics analysis showed two antifungal volatile compounds, namely cycloheptasiloxane, tetradecamethyl- and cyclononasiloxane, octadecamethyl-. These results conclude that Bacillus sp. HSFI-6 is suitable for the development of antifungal drugs.

Abstract

Many studies state that most cases of malnourished children, such as stunting, experience a lack of calories and protein. So that one of the focuses is to improve the nutritional status of children, especially by making food preparations from ingredients that are high in calories and protein, and of course those that are of interest to children in terms of taste and shape. Egg shells are an alternative food ingredient that is rich in protein and calcium. In addition, dates and honey produce a natural sweet taste, and have high nutritional value. The purpose of this activity is to provide alternative snacks for children in the form of eggshell cookies, a combination of dates and honey. The method starting with making egg shell cookies a combination of dates and honey (Ceria), and determining the right recipe for these biscuits, in terms of taste and shape. Then tested the nutritional composition (calories, carbohydrates, protein, fat, sugar, and fiber). Furthermore, the cookies were distributed to partners, namely mothers who have children aged 6 months to 9 years and health cadres in the Kedungmundu Village, Semarang. The result for this research was Ceookies “Ceria” with the ingredients of eggshell flour, wheat flour, cornstarch, dates, honey, and egg yolks. The nutritional composition produced in 100 grams of cookies produces 511 kcal calories, 63,7 grams of carbohydrates, 0,83 grams of protein, 28,3 grams of fat, 49,5 grams of fiber, and 7 grams of sugar. Ceria cookies (egg shell combination of dates and honey) can be given as an alternative food supplement for children, with the appropriate nutritional composition and using natural ingredients without artificial sweeteners or preservatives.
