Abstract

Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dengan tujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peran guru dalam menumbuhkan karakter gotong royong pada anak usia dini di TK Gracia Sustain Medan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Dengan jumlah responden lima guru serta menggunakan metode naratif dalam pengumpulan dan analisis data. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan observasi, wawancara dan dokumen. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan teknik Miles dan Huberman yakni pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data serta penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dicek menggunakan triangulasi teknik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa guru memiliki peran yang sangat penting dalam menumbuhkan karakter gotong royong pada anak usia dini. Guru berperan sebagai teladan utama yang memperlihatkan sikap disiplin, tanggung jawab, kejujuran, dan kepedulian terhadap sesama, sehingga anak belajar meniru perilaku positif dalam kesehariannya.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of discipline character assessment in children aged 5–6 years through anecdotal records and to identify the supporting and inhibiting factors at TK Kasih Bapa Percut. This research employed a qualitative approach with a case study method. The subjects of the study were two teachers of Group B (aged 5–6 years), while the object of the study was the implementation of discipline character assessment through anecdotal records. Data were collected through interviews and documentation. Interviews were conducted with teachers to obtain information regarding the implementation of discipline character assessment, while documentation was carried out by examining anecdotal records used by teachers in recording children’s behavior. Data were analyzed through data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results showed that discipline character assessment had been integrated into the learning process through lesson planning (RPPH). Teachers assessed children’s discipline through direct observation during learning activities and documented important events using anecdotal records. The assessment was conducted continuously by considering changes in children’s behavior over time, and the results were used as the basis for preparing developmental reports. Supporting factors included teachers’ experience, the use of systematic instruments, and conducive classroom conditions. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors included limited time, a large number of children, and difficulties in maintaining objectivity in recording. Thus, the implementation of discipline character assessment through anecdotal records has been carried out in an integrated and continuous manner and is able to provide a contextual picture of children’s discipline development.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop the Smart Music Train Educational Play Tool (KECEMUK) as a stimulation medium for children with special needs, particularly children with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the ADDIE model, which consists of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation stages. The analysis stage was conducted through observations and interviews to identify children's needs and learning conditions. The design stage produced a train-shaped educational play tool equipped with percussion musical instruments. The product was then developed and validated by media experts, material experts, and early childhood education practitioners. After revisions, the product was implemented with Group B children aged 5–6 years at Bina Ananda Mandiri Marelan Foundation. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and questionnaires and analyzed descriptively using percentage techniques. The findings revealed that KECEMUK achieved a feasibility score of 77%, categorized as very good. The use of KECEMUK increased children's interest in music learning activities, encouraged active participation, and supported the development of social and emotional skills. Therefore, KECEMUK is feasible to be used as a music-based learning medium to stimulate the development of children with special needs.
