Abstract

Financial Performance is a key indicator for banks in evaluating and identifying the role of financial ratio in supporting their operational performance development. The purpose of this research is to identify the effect of delivery channel, firm size, and liquidity on banks’ financial performance using panel data regression analysis. This study finds that delivery channel does not influence Non-Performing Loan (NPL) and Return on Assets (ROA), but it affects Return on Equity (ROE) and Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR). Then, firm size affects all ratios that are used as the proxy of financial performance, while liquidity does not influence them. Furthermore, delivery channel, firm size, and liquidity simultaneously affect the financial performance of Indonesian banks. This research can be used by banks as a foundation to evaluate their future financial performance and to inform the public about their revenues from delivery channel transactions with their customers. In addition, it can be used by the public to support banks’ financial performance through the use of their financial products and services and by the government to make correct decisions for their policies.

Abstract

The development of banking Net Interest Margin (NIM) in Indonesia shows a high value among other ASEAN countries. A high NIM ratio value does not indicate that the bank's condition is good. Bank Indonesia has a NIM target with a value range of 3% -4%. However, in reality, in the case of state-owned banks, no one has been able to achieve Bank Indonesia's target. The influence of bank internal and external factors has a significant contribution to the value of NIM. This study aims to analyze the determinants of the net interest margin of Indonesian banking by using a case study of Bank BRI. This research is a quantitative research with secondary data sources derived from the company's financial statements. The analytical method used is the two stage least square (TSLS). The results showed that the variables NPL, LDR, CAR, and deposits had a significant effect on NIM. Meanwhile, BOPO and SBK have no significant effect on NIM.

Abstract

A high capital buffer can increase stakeholder confidence in the sustainability and stability of the bank, but causes the bank to lose the opportunity to maximize profits from business operations that should be carried out using a capital buffer. On the other hand, a low capital buffer can reduce stakeholder confidence in banks, because banks are considered to have a high risk if the economy contracts in the future. The purpose of this research is to identify and analyze the effect of bank size, liquidity risk, credit risk, operational risk, and profitability on capital buffer in KBMI 3 and 4 bank categories during 2018-2022. Using panel data regression, this study finds that partially the variables SIZE, LDR, BOPO, and ROE had a negative and significant effect on the Capital Buffer. Meanwhile, NPL has no significant effect on the Capital Buffer.

Abstract

The number of enthusiasm about the Korean Wave is on the rise. This remains across Indonesia as well, allowing for a yearly public consumption of Korean Wave items to exceed 20 million rupiahs. This study aims to determine the influence of several factors considered to drive purchasing decisions, such as the bandwagon effect, digital payments, and income on purchasing decisions for products associated with the Korean Wave (Hallyu). This research is a descriptive quantitative research in which the data collection method was carried out by distributing questionnaires to individuals who were categorized as Generation Z. The data obtained were then processed and tested using the binary logistic regression method with the Wald test method to determine the partial effect and the statistical G test to determine the effect simultaneously. The results showed that the bandwagon effect (X1) and digital payments (X2) partially had a significant effect on purchasing decisions (Y), while income (X3) partially had no significant effect on purchasing decisions (Y). Then the bandwagon effect (X1), digital payments (X2), and income (X3) simultaneously influence purchasing decisions (Y).

Abstract

Inflation is one of the most complicated and important economic events for a country. When inflation is at a higher than average level, it can have several detrimental effects on society. There are various internal and external factors that can affect the inflation rate. Using statistical data on inflation rate, debit card transaction volume, credit card transaction volume, and fuel oil price, this study aims to analyze the impact of non cash payment transactions and fuel prices on inflation rate. The results show that the use of debit cards in payment transactions has no significant impact on inflation in both the long run and short run. The use of credit cards also has no significant impact on inflation, both in the short run and long run. Meanwhile, the use of fuel oil has a significant impact on inflation in both the long and short run. The findings of this study provide additional insights for monetary and economic policies in Indonesia in managing non-cash transactions and fuel oil prices to maintain inflation stability.

Abstract

This research examines the efficiency of lending distribution by Regional Development Banks (RDBs) in Java, Indonesia, using Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) and panel regression analysis. It analyzes financial data from 2015-2022 to identify factors affecting lending distribution efficiency. Key variables include Loan to Deposit Ratio (LDR), Capital Adequacy Ratio (CAR), Non-Performing Loan (NPL), Operating Expenses to Operating Income (OER), and regional government funds percentage (LGFR). the study identifies that among the variables examined, only LDR significantly impacts the lending efficiency of RDBs. This finding underscores the critical role of effective deposit to loan conversion in enhancing RDB operational performance, while other factors such as CAR, NPL, OER, and LGFR do not show a statistically significant effect. This research contributes to the banking efficiency literature by highlighting the importance of optimizing LDR to improve the operational efficiency of RDBs. It offers new insights into the operations of regional banks and their role in regional economic growth, especially in Java.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of inflation factors, foreign direct investment and interest rates on stock prices in the property sector listed on JII70. This study uses secondary data, namely primary data obtained from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Bank Indonesia (BI), the World Bank and the Central Statistics Agency (BPS). This study uses a quantitative approach with descriptive statistical analysis techniques and uses the Vector Autoregressive (VAR) / Vector Error Correction Model (VECM) test. VAR is used when the data used is stationary at the level level. However, if the data is not stationary at the level, the next analysis will be compared using the VECM method. This study uses a purposive sampling method, namely the selection method with certain criteria. The results of this study indicate that inflation, which is represented by the CPI value, has a positive influence on changes in sharia share prices in the property sector in Indonesia in the long and short term. Foreign direct investment, which is represented by the value of net foreign direct investment, has a positive influence on changes in sharia share prices in the property sector in Indonesia in the short term. In the long term, foreign direct investment has insignificant returns, although it has a positive effect as well. Meanwhile, the interest rate represented by the BI Rate has a negative effect on changes in sharia share prices in the property sector in Indonesia in the long term, but on the contrary has a positive effect in the short term.

Abstract

Financial inclusion has played a vital role in eradicating poverty and inequality in some developing countries over the last few decades. In ASEAN, the growth of financial inclusion is so rapid that it reaches every element of society. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine forecasts of financial inclusion, poverty, and inequality in ASEAN. In addition, the study also analyzes the correlation between financial inclusion, poverty, and inequality in ASEAN. The study uses the ARIMA and GMM models for the study period from 2000 to 2022. Projections show that most ASEAN countries have experienced an increase in the long-term financial inclusion index, with Thailand leading the ranking, followed by Malaysia. However, the role of financial inclusion in poverty does not seem to be so significant in the short term, most likely due to the still-difficult access for low-income groups.
