Abstract

Peatlands have excellent air retention capabilities and are crucial for environmental health. They act as natural sponges, absorbing and releasing air, which helps maintain soil moisture levels vital for crops. However, peatlands are highly sensitive ecosystems often threatened by unsustainable agricultural practices. When managed sustainably, peatlands scattered across the globe can be utilized for various farming activities. Managing peatlands for food crops presents an alternative to agriculture in peatland areas, enhancing economic growth in rural regions. This research aims to introduce a framework that integrates IoT into the intelligent monitoring of peatland management for precision agriculture. The primary challenge is implementing effective monitoring and management strategies for sensitive peatlands within precision agriculture. The main principle of precision agriculture is data-driven decision-making, supported by modern agricultural management that employs technology and data analysis to optimize farming practices. The proposed system framework can be utilized to identify the best types of food crops for making new decisions while ensuring high yields at the agricultural level. Precision agriculture principles are then applied to enhance the accuracy of monitoring peatland management, focusing on suitable land potential and food crops planted in areas with the highest potential. The results indicate that prioritizing peatlands for food crops reduces inappropriate decisions in selecting food crops. Furthermore, the efficiency of agricultural management can be improved with lower management costs. This framework provides a practical and user-friendly basis for informing all stakeholders on automating Peatland agriculture for food crops using precision agriculture systems integrated with IoT. Management practices that apply information technology aim to optimize crop inputs based on temporal and spatial variability. The cost-effectiveness from this perspective creates transition opportunities for communities, positioning our framework as a solution for designing Peatland management with intelligent monitoring.

Abstract

Sasirangan fabric is a typical fabric from the South Kalimantan area. Sasirangan fabric patterns or motifs have a unique archetype that is different from other typical fabrics in Indonesia. The design of Sasirangan fabric is formed from the process of juju or seam. The pattern of Sasirangan fabric that has this uniqueness can be segmented into a more meaningful shape so that it is easy to analyze. The image segmentation that will be tested is the basic pattern of Sasirangan fabric with a random sample to compare the results of the evaluation of the metric evaluation of the image segmentation process from the Sasirangan fabric pattern. Image segmentation is a different segmentation with certain characteristics, namely using the compact watershed approach, canny filter, and morphological geodesic active contours method in the evaluation of image segmentation metrics using precision-recall, which serves to evaluate the quality of the classifier's output. After the image segmentation process is evaluated, the Sasirangan fabric pattern is grouped using the K-means algorithm as a different labelling strategy. This labelling process uses the K-means algorithm to better match details but can be unstable because it relies on random initialization. Alternatives to balance the unstable labelling process using the means algorithm can use discretization. The addition of the K-means method with discretization can create fields with geometric shapes that are pretty flat. The segmentation with Sasirangan fabric with a full motif or data number four 741.78s, results in processing the fastest and the longest computational time on data number two 120.79s.

Abstract

Effective communication strategies have become indispensable in environmental advocacy amid escalating ecological crises. This narrative review explores how participatory and digital communication frameworks influence environmental awareness, public engagement, and policy transformation across varied sociopolitical contexts.Drawing on empirical literature from 2010 to 2024, sources were identified through Scopus, Google Scholar, and PubMed using terms like "environmental communication," "advocacy strategies," and "digital engagement."Studies were selected based on peer-review status, empirical relevance, and focus on participatory and multimedia approaches. The findings indicate that participatory communication, social media, narrative storytelling, and immersive technologies play pivotal roles in shaping environmental discourse and mobilizing public action.Visual and digital media significantly enhance emotional engagement, message clarity, and behavioral response. However, communication success often depends on systemic factors such as governance models (e.g., democratic vs. authoritarian regimes), economic capacity (e.g., campaign funding), and cultural alignment (e.g., values embedded in messaging). This review offers a multidimensional synthesis of participatory and technology-driven communication frameworks, highlighting policy and practice implications, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

Data obtained from decision support system calculations using the Simple Additive Weighting method shows that many social media that are popular in society may not be suitable for use as digital media for culinary marketing. The results of the Simple Additive Weighting research show that it can be used to help culinary MSMEs in Banjarmasin City in making decisions about the use of social media through social media ranking results. This decision is reviewed based on several criteria such as length of business, length of use of social media, income and age. The length of business is because the longer the business lasts, the more people will know it. The length of use of social media is because the longer people use social media, the more they understand how to use the features and benefits of the features on social media. The greater the income in the business, the faster the business will develop. If you are at a more ideal age for running a business, your business will develop quickly because you have creative ideas and broad insight into business. The results of the Simple Additive Weighting method research show that WhatsApp has an accuracy value of 0.92, while Telegram has an accuracy value of 0.715. The concrete impact of the results of this research is that social media can help increase sales and the Simple Additive Weighting method can be used as a decision maker in selecting social media as a marketing medium so that Culinary MSMEs do not make the wrong choice in using social media.

Abstract

E-government is a major transformation in public administration. It integrates information and communication technology to improve efficiency, transparency, and citizen engagement. This narrative review examines the implementation of e-government and its impact on public service transformation across diverse contexts. Literature was systematically collected from databases including Scopus, Web of Science, Google Scholar, and PubMed, using keywords such as e-government, digital governance, citizen engagement, public service transformation, and transparency. Inclusion criteria emphasized peer-reviewed studies from 2010–2024 focusing on digital governance and public administration. Studies were screened, evaluated, and synthesized thematically. Findings reveal that emerging technologies, notably artificial intelligence, the Internet of Things, and blockchain, significantly improve service delivery efficiency and data security. Case studies from Estonia and Russia highlight successful adoption models, while experiences in Indonesia and other developing countries reveal persistent challenges related to infrastructure, literacy, and governance capacity. Public trust and citizen participation were found to be critical determinants of adoption, shaped by digital literacy, data security perceptions, and cultural attitudes. The discussion emphasizes systemic barriers—political resistance, legal rigidity, and cultural mistrust—that impede adoption, alongside strategies such as strong digital leadership, adaptive legal frameworks, and investment in digital literacy. This review concludes that while e-government has substantial potential to transform public service delivery, its success depends on aligning technological innovation with systemic reform and citizen engagement. Future research should incorporate interdisciplinary approaches, citizen perspectives, and longitudinal analyses to better understand and sustain digital transformation.

Abstract

Background: According to the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) 1,220,900 girls in Indonesia were married before the age of 18. This figure places Indonesia among the 10 countries with the largest number of child marriages in the world. Objective: It is known that there is a relationship between early marriage and the ability of mothers to care for newborns in the Hanau sub-district. Methods: This study used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach, the number of samples used was 32 respondents, the measuring instrument used a questionnaire, with an ordinal measurement scale, the data obtained was processed using the Lambda correlation test.Result: The results of the study from 32 respondents to the sex of the baby were mostly female 59.4%, at the highest education level SMA 68.8%, children aged 1-12 months there were 37.5%. In the results, mothers <20 years have moderate ability to care for babies with a correlation of 0.024 p value <0.0005 which means (<0.05).Conclusion: In the study, the p value was 0.024 <0.05, which means that there is a relationship between the age of marriage and the ability of mothers to care for babies and toddlers, so it is recommended that among others it is expected to increase public awareness at the age of marriage because it will be difficult to care for their own babies because prospective mothers have not fully received Knowledge of proper baby care Keywords: Early Marriage, Baby Care, BBL
