Abstract

The application pattern of downstream strategies for oyster mushroom derivative products as rice substitute food is an innovative initiative aimed at enhancing the value of oyster mushrooms as an alternative food source. This study examines the process of processing oyster mushrooms into various rice substitute products, such as mushroom flour, mushroom rice, and other processed products. The methods used include technical training, product trials, and market analysis. The results show that oyster mushroom derivative products have high potential as a healthy and nutritious food alternative. The potential and problems in the field were identified through the Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) method. Meanwhile, the implementation pattern consists of market identification and analysis, product development, production and operations, distribution and logistics, marketing strategy, and continuous evaluation & development. Collaboration between government, academics and the private sector is very important in supporting the development of the oyster mushroom industry and its derivative products. The implementation of this downstream strategy is expected to positively impact the welfare of oyster mushroom farmers and the sustainability of the local food industry.

Abstract

Integrasi edusosiopreneurship dalam pengembangan dan hilirisasi produk Tempe Edukit di Kampung Industri Tempe Sanan bertujuan untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah produk tempe melalui pendekatan pendidikan dan kewirausahaan sosial. Program ini mencakup berbagai kegiatan seperti pelatihan intensif, pendampingan teknis yang berkelanjutan, serta pengembangan produk inovatif yang menggabungkan aspek edukatif dan wirausaha. Metode yang digunakan dalam program ini meliputi pengajaran keterampilan teknis dalam produksi tempe, strategi pemasaran yang efektif, serta manajemen usaha yang baik. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dalam pengetahuan dan keterampilan masyarakat setempat dalam mengembangkan produk Tempe Edukit yang memiliki potensi pasar yang luas. Implementasi program ini diharapkan dapat mendukung keberlanjutan ekonomi lokal dengan menciptakan peluang usaha baru dan memberikan dampak positif yang berkelanjutan bagi kesejahteraan masyarakat. Dengan pendekatan edusosiopreneurship, produk Tempe Edukit di Kampung Industri Tempe Sanan diharapkan mampu bersaing di pasar yang lebih luas, sehingga memberikan manfaat jangka panjang yang signifikan bagi komunitas setempat dan mendorong pertumbuhan ekonomi yang inklusif.

Abstract

In community service activities, the State University of Malang is now partnering with Sambigede Village, Sumberpucung District, Malang Regency, East Java. Sambigede Situated within the beautiful landscape of the region, this village is characterized by its serene environment and close-knit community. With a population primarily engaged in agriculture and small-scale enterprises, Sambigede retains its traditional charm while gradually embracing modern developments. One of the livelihoods of the residents in Sambigede Village is farming, especially cattle and goats. Therefore, the need for grass for animal feed is increasing. One of the obstacles faced by the residents of Sambigede Village is the feed preparation time, especially during the grass-chopping process still uses the manual method. So if the grass takes a long time and energy. This problem can solve by using Appropriate Technology (TTG) for grass-chopping machines to help the role of residents in the grass-chopping process. It's hoped that after the grass-chopping machines, the residents of Sambigede Village can further improve the quality of livestock feed and increase the effectiveness of time during the grass-chopping process.

Abstract

Keberagaman hayati di beberapa wilayah seringkali kurang diperhatikan dan hidup sebagai tumbuhan liar. Salah satu tanaman yang melimpah di Desa Sumber Waras adalah kelor. Kelor merupakan tanaman yang memiliki banyak sekali manfaat bagi kesehatan karena mengandung antioksidan, vitamin, dan mineral. Melalui metode ABCD, kegiatan pengabdian dan pelatihan ini melibatkan ibu-ibu PKK di Desa Sumber Waras untuk berpartisipasi dalah meningkatkan gizi serta pengembangan kreativitas dengan kegiatan yang mencakup proses pengolahan, pengemasan dan pemahaman mengenai manfaat kelor. Hasil yang didapatkan dari kegiatan ini berupa peningkatan keterampilan, pengolahan, wirausaha, serta pemanfaatan potensi lokal yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan ini juga mendapat respon positif dengan survey yang menunjukkan delapan peserta merasa kegiatan ini sangat bermanfaat dan dua lainnya merasa kegiatan ini bermanfaat. Kesimpulan akhir yang didapatkan adalah program ini berhasil mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pemanfaatan daun kelor sebagai ide kreatif bahan makanan olahan lain untuk dikonsumsi. Melalui pelatihan pembuatan puding, peserta tidak hanya memperoleh keterampilan baru namun juga ide kreatif dalam mengolah kelor sebagai bahan pangan bernilai gizi tinggi.

Abstract

Kondisi pandemic yang berkepanjangan menyebabkan inflasi di kota malang meningkat 0.52% di tahun 2022. Hal ini menyebabkan masyarakat berjuang untuk bangkit secara ekonomi, termasuk mitra sasaran, yaitu pondok pesantren PPMU Jabung, kabupaten Malang. Berdasarkan hasil wawancara dengan pengasuh pondok, situasi mitra saat ini dalam upaya untuk bergerak menuju kemandirian ekonomi (produktif). Mitra berkeinginan untuk menjadi supplier dalam bisnis bibit bebek sehingga mitra membutuhkan uluran tangan dari kampus sebagai produsen karya teknologi dengan membuat mesin tetas telur otomatis dengan kapasitas besar. Oleh sebab itu, dibuatlah Teknologi Tepat Guna (TTG) Ndok 5.0 yaitu mesin penetasan telur otomatis yang mampu menetas kan telur sebanyak 100 butir dalam 1 mesin yang dapat diatur besar suhu maksimal sesuai dengan kebutuhan mitra. Pengujian alat terdiri dari 3 tahapan yaitu peletakan telur bebek, peneropongan, dan penetasan, lama waktu pengujian adalah 24-30 hari dengan suhu maksimal ruangan sebesar 38,5oC.

Abstract

Apple has the most fruit productio at Batu City. There are two apple  varieties; Manalagi cherry and Anna, but some apple varieties have low quality (grade D). The reason is because of low price and the consumers is not interesting to buy, so grade D apple decreased. An alternative to apply the grade D apple is by using for nata production with addition three sugar sort, that is cane sugar, palm sugar and siwalan sugar as a food diversification. This study aims to (1) examine the effect of varieties of apples on the quality of nata based on the weight, thickness and fiber content, (2) to examine the effect of three kinds of sugar on the quality of nata based on the weight, thickness and fiber content , (3) to analyze the difference effect of apples varieties and sugars sort that produce the highest quality nata. The results showed that (1) the apples varieties has significant effect on the nata quality based on the nata fiber content, but there is no significant effect of apples varieties on the nata quality based on the thickness and weight of nata. varieties Manalagi cherry variety produces the best nata quality based on the fiber content, (2) The sugar sorts significantly affect to the nata quality based on thickness, weight and nata fiber content. The use of palm sugar produces the best nata quality based on the thickness, weight and fiber content, (3) The interaction of apple varieties and sugars sorts significantly affect to the nata quality based on the thickness, weight and nata fiber content. Manalagi cherry variety with the addition of palm sugar gives the best nata quality based on the thickness, weight and fiber content

Abstract

Waste is one factor that becomes an environmental problem. The waste that is often found is inorganic and organic. One of the uses of organic waste is the production of solid organic fertilizer in the form of compost. This research utilizes dried leaves (sono leaves, teak, trembesi, kenitu, breadfruit, and ketepeng) as raw materials for making compost. The compost-making method is carried out by adding an activator called EM4 (Effective Microorganism 4). This research produced pH values, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, Potassium, and Water Content per values under SNI 19-730-2004 regarding the specification of compost from organic waste. And the results of microbial diversity in the compost were obtained, which were dominated by microbes of the type Proteobacteria 40%, Firmicutes 30%, Actinobacteria 13%, Acidobacteria 6%, Bacteroidota 4%, Planctomycetota 3%.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the development pattern of digital learning based on Interactive Whiteboard (IWB) in supporting the implementation of food self-sufficiency schools at the early childhood education level. The approach used in this development refers to the vision of national development in Asta Cita as well as the Oriented-Outcome Project Planning (OOPP) framework which emphasizes the achievement of project-based learning outcomes and impacts. The research was conducted in KB/TK Laboratory of the State University of Malang using a qualitative descriptive method. Data collection was carried out through participatory observation, in-depth interviews with teachers and students, and documentation of the learning process. The results showed that the use of IWB can increase children's involvement in thematic learning based on local food, strengthen the visualization of the plant-harvest process interactively, and encourage children's motor and collaborative skills. The development pattern of digital learning through IWB which is integrated with OOPP and Asta Cita forms a contextual learning ecosystem, with a food security perspective, and based on the nation's character.

Abstract

Limbah organik berupa bunga dan daun kering di lingkungan sekolah sering belum dimanfaatkan secara optimal, padahal memiliki potensi sebagai bahan baku produk kreatif yang bernilai edukatif dan ekonomis. Kondisi serupa dijumpai di SMA Negeri Taruna Nala Malang yang memiliki area hijau luas, tetapi limbah botani yang dihasilkan belum dikelola secara produktif. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan pemanfaatan limbah organik lingkungan sekolah melalui pelatihan pembuatan gantungan kunci resin, sekaligus memperkuat kesadaran keberlanjutan dan keterampilan kewirausahaan siswa. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan pendekatan Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) yang diintegrasikan dengan project-based learning (PjBL) terhadap 100 siswa yang dibagi dalam kelompok kerja. Pelaksanaan program meliputi tahap persiapan, pengumpulan bahan baku limbah botani, pengeringan dan fabrikasi resin, serta refleksi pelaksanaan. Evaluasi dilakukan menggunakan daftar hadir, lembar observasi, lembar penilaian produk, dan angket respons peserta dengan indikator keberhasilan meliputi kehadiran peserta, keberhasilan produk, serta respons positif peserta terhadap kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa seluruh indikator keberhasilan tercapai di atas target minimal. Kehadiran peserta mencapai 100%, 90% peserta berhasil menghasilkan gantungan kunci resin dengan kategori layak, dan 90% peserta memberikan respons positif terhadap kegiatan, terutama dalam aspek pemahaman pemanfaatan limbah organik dan pentingnya pengelolaan lingkungan secara berkelanjutan. Hasil refleksi juga menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini mampu menumbuhkan kreativitas, ketelitia berbasis potensi lokal. Dengan demikian, pelatihan pembuatan gantungan kunci resin berbahan limbah botani terbukti efektif sebagai bentuk pengabdian masyarakat berbasis sekolah yang aplikatif, edukatif, dan berkelanjutan serta berkontribusi pada pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Optimization of Organic Waste Utilization in the School Environment Through the Creation of Economically Valuable Resin Keychains at SMA Taruna Nala Abstract Organic waste in the form of dried flowers and leaves in school environments is frequently underutilized, despite its potential as a raw material for creative products with educational and economic value. A similar condition was observed at SMA Negeri Taruna Nala Malang, which has extensive green areas, yet the botanical waste generated has not been managed productively. This community service activity aimed to optimize the utilization of school organic waste through training in resin keychain production, while simultaneously strengthening students' sustainability awareness and entrepreneurial skills. The activity was implemented using an Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) approach integrated with project-based learning (PjBL), involving 100 students organized into working groups. The program stages included preparation, collection of botanical waste materials, drying and pressing of plant materials, resin fabrication, and implementation reflection. Evaluation was conducted using attendance records, observation sheets, product assessment rubrics, and participant response questionnaires, with success indicators encompassing participant attendance, product feasibility, and positive participant response toward the activity. The results indicated that all success indicators were achieved above the established minimum targets. Participant attendance reached 100%, 90% of participants successfully produced resin keychains categorized as feasible, and 90% of participants provided positive responses toward the activity, particularly regarding understanding of organic waste utilization and the importance of sustainable environmental management. Reflection results also demonstrated that this activity was able to foster creativity, meticulousness based on local potential. Thus, training in resin keychain production using botanical waste proved effective as an applicable, educational, and sustainable school-based community service model, contributing to the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This community service program aims to optimize catfish production through training on innovative self-produced feed formulated with beeswax for local farmers in Banjarejo Village. The program also seeks to enhance farmers’ knowledge and skills in developing alternative feed formulations that are both economical and of high quality. The implementation method employed was Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), encompassing stages of problem identification, preparation, implementation, and evaluation. Data were analyzed using a qualitative descriptive approach based on observations and interviews. The results indicate an improvement in farmers’ knowledge and technical skills in producing cost-efficient feed supplemented with beeswax, as well as their ability to operate feed-molding equipment. In addition to reducing dependence on commercial feed, the program promotes cost efficiency and strengthens farmers’ readiness to produce feed independently. Overall, the beeswax-based self-feed training proved effective in enhancing group capacity and reinforcing the economic self-reliance of catfish farmers at the community level.
