Abstract

The integrated training program for TPQ, TPSQ, and Tahfizh teachers in Kenagarian Kandang Baru, Sijunjung Regency, was designed to address the low pedagogical competence, teaching skills, and classroom management capabilities among Qur’anic educators. The three-day training involved 23 participants and used a comprehensive approach combining theoretical knowledge and hands-on practice. The training modules included teaching by heart, TPQ management, effective Qur’anic teaching strategies, as well as reinforcement of tajwid and tahsin. Evaluation results indicated that 90% of participants significantly improved their understanding of child-centered teaching methods and were able to apply more engaging and enjoyable tahfizh approaches. Moreover, 83% of participants demonstrated the ability to integrate talaqqi, tikrar, and educational games into their teaching practices. The program also encouraged strong commitment from the local government to continue the initiative through follow-up training and ongoing monitoring. Collaboration between educators and local authorities was directed toward establishing a sustainable learning community to foster an adaptive and high-quality Qur’anic education ecosystem. This initiative serves as a promising model of locally rooted teacher empowerment that could be replicated in other regions seeking to strengthen non-formal Islamic education institutions.

Abstract

Cultural and religious values are integral to the life of the Minangkabau people. However, many studies have not considered integrated counseling with Minangkabau values and culture. For this reason, this research aims to analyze articles related to integrated counseling studies of Islamic values and Minangkabau culture. This study uses a literature review approach and internet search engines such as Google Scholar, ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and Academia.edu to find articles related to the study theme. This research is the first literature review research to examine integrated counseling with Islamic values and Minangkabau culture. The research results show that studies related to integrated counseling with Islamic values and Minangkabau culture are still minimal. The results of this study have resulted in the discovery of eleven articles related to the theme studied. Nine articles have the theme of counseling and Minangkabau culture, and only two discuss counseling, Islam, and Minangkabau culture. The results of this research can be used as a reference for future researchers. They can also be a reference for the government to pay attention to local wisdom values in solving community problems in West Sumatera.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Qur’an-based counseling and psychotherapy model, focusing on the analysis of psychopathology found in Surah Yunus, verse 57. The research employs a qualitative approach using thematic exegesis (maudhu‘i) to uncover the deep meaning of the verse and its relevance to modern psychopathology concepts. Data were collected through a literature review involving classical tafsir, contemporary tafsir, and clinical psychology literature, and then analyzed hermeneutically to identify correlations between the Qur’anic message and therapeutic strategies. The findings indicate that Surah Yunus, verse 57 provides a four-dimensional framework for psychological healing: the educative-preventive dimension (al-maw‘izhah), the curative dimension (al-shifā’), the cognitive-preservative dimension (al-hudā), and the affective-spiritual development dimension (al-rahmah). These four dimensions can be adapted into a Qur’anic counseling model that emphasizes a balance between religious knowledge, self-understanding, cognitive restructuring, and spiritual strengthening. The implications of this model offer an alternative integrative approach that combines modern psychological principles with Islamic values for addressing mental disorders, particularly those related to anxiety, depression, and loss of life meaning. This study recommends the implementation of the Qur’anic counseling model based on Surah Yunus, verse 57 in Islamic mental health service settings as a holistic and transformative intervention strategy.

Abstract

The preservation of local Islamic-based cultural arts, such as qasidah rebana, plays a crucial role in strengthening the religious identity of the community and resisting the tide of modernization that can erode traditional values. The qasidah rebana training program organized by the DPD PKS of Agam Regency aimed to enhance the artistic skills of the community while also reinforcing religious communal bonds. The training was held on October 13, 2024, and was attended by 15 groups from various sub-districts, totaling 105 participants, the majority of whom were members of majelis taklim (Islamic study groups). The training methods included the delivery of material on the history and philosophy of rebana, techniques for playing different types of rebana instruments, group practice sessions, and an art appreciation segment. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation and brief interviews. The results indicated a significant improvement in participants’ technical skills, self-confidence, and motivation. Participants also expressed high enthusiasm and a strong desire to organize follow-up training independently in their respective areas. This training has proven to be effective not only in enhancing individual capacities but also in strengthening social networks and preserving Islamic cultural heritage at the local level.
