Abstract

he moral crisis of the younger generation characterized by a decline in discipline, responsibility, and social care is a serious challenge for Islamic educational institutions to restore the role of education as a character builder. This study aims to describe the strategy of strengthening religious values through tahfidz Al-Qur'an activities at the Ar-Roja Bina Insani Foundation in Kisaran, North Sumatra. The research uses a descriptive qualitative approach with phenomenological methods, through interviews, observations, and documentation of foundation leaders, tahfidz ustaz, students, and parents. The results showed five main strategies implemented: integration of memorization and understanding of verses, exemplary teachers in behavior, habituation of daily worship, active involvement of parents, and creation of a conducive religious environment. These strategies proved effective in fostering discipline, patience, honesty, and responsibility of the students. This research confirms that the Qur'an tahfidz program is not just an effort to memorize, but a comprehensive Islamic character building medium. The implication is that the tahfidz program can be used as a model of religious character education that is adaptive and relevant in answering the moral challenges of modern society.

Abstract

Proses pembelajaran menjadi pondasi utama dalam perkembangan pengetahuan, sikap, dan kemampuan siswa. Media pembelajaran yang tersedia di media social sangat beragam namun pendidik belum mampu untuk memanfaatkan dalam pembelajaran, terbatasnya fasilitas sarana dan prasarana yang mendukung proses pembelajaran menyebabkan menurunkan hasil belajar siswa. Salah satu bentuk media pembelajaran yang dapat menarik perhatian siswa adalah Wordwall. Pemilihan Media Wordwall sebagai upaya menanamkan kecintaan anak terhadap Al-Qur’an karena salah satu hal yang paling penting ditanamkan pada anak adalah pendidikan agama islam. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini yaitu kualitatif dengan metode wawancara dan observasi. Wawancara dilakukan guna mendapatkan informasi terkait penggunaan wordwall, sedangkan observasi dilakukan untuk mengamati secara langsung pelaksanaan penggunaan media wordwall. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada perubahan cara belajar dan pemahaman siswa setelah menggunakan media pembelajaran wordwall. Perubahan itu dapat dilihat dari keaktifan siswa dalam bertanya dan mengikuti pembelajaran. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa pemanfaatan media pembelajaran wordwall untuk menanamkan kecintaan anak terhadap Al-Qur’an di Mis Al-Ittihad Bogor

Abstract

The development of digital technology has had a significant impact on the formation of students' character, particularly in moral and spiritual aspects. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the spiritual intelligence model in shaping the noble character of students at the Miftahussalam Private Islamic Senior High School (MAS) in Medan in the digital era. The approach used was a qualitative case study. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, participant observation, and documentation, which were then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive analysis model. The results showed that the application of spiritual intelligence values such as sincerity, patience, gratitude, and responsibility were systematically integrated through Islamic Religious Education learning, habituation of worship, and teacher role models. These values have been proven to be able to shape students' noble character as reflected in politeness, social empathy, and religious awareness. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening the spiritual dimension in Islamic education as an effective strategy to fortify students from the negative influences of the digital era. This study provides a conceptual contribution to the development of a character education model based on spiritual values in the madrasah environment.

Abstract

The transformation of national education marked by the implementation of the Independent Curriculum has placed principals in a strategic position as leaders of change. Not only as administrators, principals are required to be the driving force of curriculum innovation, particularly in the field of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) which has unique characteristics of values and spirituality. This study aims to investigate the role of the principal's transformational leadership in initiating and implementing PAI curriculum innovation at Panca Budi Middle School, Medan. A qualitative research method with a case study approach was used to explore data in depth through interview techniques, participatory observation, and documentation. The research findings show that; (1) the principal plays an active role in developing a PAI learning vision that is contextual and relevant to current developments; (2) encouraging teachers to innovate in learning methods, and creating a collaborative culture in curriculum development. The innovations carried out include the integration of Islamic values with an active learning approach; (3) Utilization of digital technology, as well as strengthening the affective dimension and character of students. Thus, transformational leadership is a key element in presenting a new face of religious education that is humanistic, transformative, and future-oriented.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the integration of Qur'anic values through the Coffee Morning approach in character education learning at Al Razi Sinar Harapan Private Vocational School, Medan, Johor. Character education is a national urgency in forming a generation that is not only intellectually superior, but also moral and spiritual. The phenomenon of adolescent moral degradation, such as fights, disrespectful behavior towards teachers, and social ethical crises, emphasizes the need for learning innovations based on religious values. This study uses a descriptive-exploratory qualitative approach with 50 subjects of grades X–XII, which are divided into seven discussion groups. Data was obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation during the implementation of Coffee Morning in July-September 2025. The results of the study show that Coffee Morning is effective in internalizing the values of the Qur'an, including gratitude, honesty, discipline, responsibility, solidarity, and respect for teachers and parents. The relaxed and dialogical atmosphere encourages students to be more open to reflecting on life experiences and relating them to the message of the Qur'an. The impact can be seen in improving discipline, communication skills, learning motivation, spiritual awareness, and social solidarity. Coffee Morning also strengthens the teacher-student relationship and has a positive influence on the family.

Abstract

Background:Philosophy, science, and ethics are three essential pillars of the Islamic intellectual tradition. However, in modern practice, a disconnect between science and ethics often occurs, giving rise to various moral deviations. Al-Ghazali's thought offers an integrative framework that combines rationality, spirituality, and morality as the foundation for developing knowledgeable and moral individuals. Aims:This study aims to analyze the role of philosophy in the formation of science and ethics according to an Islamic perspective based on Al-Ghazali's thoughts, and to explain how the integration of the two can be a solution to contemporary ethical problems. Methods:The study employed a qualitative design with a library research approach. Data were obtained through analysis of Al-Ghazali's works and relevant classical and contemporary literature, then analyzed using content analysis methods. Result:The research results show that philosophy plays a crucial role in guiding reason to understand the truth through a proper scientific process, while simultaneously strengthening ethics as a moral foundation. Al-Ghazali accepted aspects of philosophy that were in harmony with Islam, particularly logic, epistemology, and morality, while rejecting those that contradicted his creed. The integration of philosophy, science, and ethics is reflected in his works such as Ihya' Ulumuddin and Al-Munqidz min al-Dhalal. Conclusion:Al-Ghazali's thinking asserts that knowledge without ethics is empty, while ethics without knowledge is unsound. Philosophy serves as a bridge to harmonize the two through the integration of reason and revelation, thus serving as a foundation for educational development and character formation in the modern era.
